The Environmental Information System was implemented by the Ministry by end
of 6th Five Year Plan as a Plan Scheme for environmental information
collection, collation, storage and retrieval from all over the world.
The functioning of the entire ENVIS network is monitored by regional workshops,
national workshops undertaken by engineers and research workers.
ENVIS CENTERS WORKS FOR GENERATING A NETWORK OF DATABASE IN AREAS LIKE AIR
