5. Power of Prayer
Prayer is a key ingredient to a
great worship service.
Between you and God.
Before the service for God’s
leading and direction during
the service.
Should be done all
throughout the worship
service.

7. Power of Prayer
What other elements are involved?
Having a pure heart before
God.

God’s people and a desire to
lead them into worship.

Sensitivity to the Spirit of God
8. Philippians 4:6
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known to God and
the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding shall keep your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus.” ”
9. Proverbs 2:5 - 6
“then you will understand the fear of the
LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth
come knowledge and understanding.”
10. James 4:8
“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and
purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
11. 2 Chronicles 7:14
“If My people who are called by My name will
humble themselves, and pray and seek My
face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven, and will forgive their
sin and heal their land.”
14. Power of Preparation
Proper preparation prevents
poor ministry….
So how do we as Ministers of
Music, Praise & Worship leaders,
choir members, musicians, etc.
prepare for worship?
15. Things to Consider when
Preparing for Worship
Power of Preparation
• Theme – Know the theme of the service, church,
year, sermon topic, etc, which is essential to proper
song selection.
• Rehearsal – should occur on a regular basis
• Communication --
With God (Proverbs 16:3)
With the Pastor (Proverbs 15:22)
• Focus – Worship should never be based solely on
emotion
• Excellence – Pursue excellence in worship by
leading with your whole heart. (Colossians 3:23,24)
18. Colossians 3:23, 24
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to
the Lord and not to men, knowing that from
the Lord you will receive the reward of the
inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
19. Power of Preparation
• Know the importance of
the part you play as a
singer/psalmist.
• In other words, come to
rehearsal prepared with the
following….
20. • Be punctual for rehearsal
Power of Preparation
• Bring tape recorders to rehearsal
• Take notes during rehearsal
• Have the proper attitude by
remaining teachable
• Study your music/parts/lyrics
during personal time
• Read and meditate on any
related scriptures prior to
rehearsal
• Be yielded to the Spirit of the God
and the direction of the Pastor
23. Power of Worship
In order to realize the true power
of worship, UNITY is
essential(Psalm 133).
• Unity between the Worship
Leader and Pastor
• Unity between the praise team,
choir and minister of music
24. Power of Worship
Worship:
• Is a time when we pray
deeply, sincerely, showing love
and fear to God
• Causes us to reflect on the
majesty and goodness of
God, contrasted to our own
unworthiness
25. Power of Worship
Worship:
• Draws us closer to Christ
• Causes us to become more like
Christ
• Causes us to humble ourselves
before God

This slide template can show steps, stages or how various elements or factors combine to make one key result or goal. For instance, you could show how various departments in your business work together to make the sale, how key customer groups will all purchase your product, or how different funding sources will provide the total you need. This slide template also makes an excellent concluding slide for your presentation, enabling you to graphically sum up your key points into one final whole.
