Course Description
Computers in Education: The use of computers in education (basics, principles and
applications).
Course Objectives
• Familiarity with the role and functions of computers in education.
• Identify the issues and trends in the use of computers in classroom teaching.
• Familiarity with different software tools.
• Develop skills in preparing instructional materials using the different software tools.
• Gain skills in developing instructional plan applying an instructional system design
model.
• Create instructional materials using different computer-based resources.
• Develop instructional plan.
• Compile a digital portfolio.

Course Policy
• You are expected to be at every class session on time.
• If it becomes necessary for you to miss the class session, you are expected to let me
know in advance.
• If you miss 6 periods or more (depending on the University policy), you will get an
incomplete grade even if you satisfy all other requirements.
• Incomplete or late submissions will result in one penalty point per day.
2. • Plagiarism and/or cheating in any form is not permitted.
Guidelines
• On Oral Reports
o Each group (with 3 to 4 members) must present their report according to formats;
characteristics; advantages; limitations; and applications to teaching/learning
process
o An outline must be presented to the instructor two weeks before the scheduled
report.
o A hard copy about the report must be provided to every member of the class or
uploaded to the e-group/website created for the class.
o Active participation of each member of the team is required.
o Peer and instructor rating.
o Maximum one-hour presentation per group.
• On Digital Portfolio
o The digital portfolio must consist of the following:
a. Self Introduction
b. Skills development output
c. Personal and professional reflections
d. Detailed instructional plan
