8. 1 Defining and scoping the Guide
• “…describe, explain and illustrate some ways
in which the development of digital literacies
(DL) / fluency can be demonstrated in each of
the areas of activity, core knowledge and
professional values of the UKPSF”
• Main elements: Overview of UKPSF;
Annotated links to existing resources mainly
for teachers and mainly for developers;
Commissioned case studies; PAs’ work on DL
9. 2 Inviting Professional Association
(PA) partners
• Case studies invited from PAs:
– Association for Learning Development in Higher Education
(ALDinHE), Association for Learning Technology
(ALT), Association of University Administrators
(AUA), Heads of Educational Development Group
(HEDG), Heads of eLearning Forum (HELF), Organisational
Development in Higher Education Group (ODHE), Standing
Conference on Academic Practice (SCAP), Staff
Development Forum (SDF), Staff and Educational
Development Association (SEDA), Society of
College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL), Vitae
• Most PAs were able to take part despite the tight
schedule
10. 3 Commissioning resource guides
for teachers and developers
• Peter Hartley and Helen Beetham
• Did a fine job of locating useful resources for
each UKPSF element and commenting on their
use
• On reflection, is the distinction between
resources for developers and teachers useful?
11. 4 Commissioning case studies from
PAs
• “… a rich, detailed and valuable account of
some of the many ways in which PGCert and
CPD practice is implementing the UKPSF in the
digital university …”
12. 7 Further development
• More case studies
• More resources for teachers and developers
• Each indexed to relevant element(s) of the
UKPSF
• Extended account of PAs’ work to develop
digital literacy
• What else?

Poll while people are waiting
Welcome and introductionsDavid Baume and Helen Beetham who I’m sure many of you will know have significant expertise in staff and educational development and have been key contributors to the UKPSF work we are talking about todayMe – involved in supporting a range of Jiscprogrammes and developing resources from outputs and findings of these.
Jisc has a key role in the sector to help drive innovation in UK education and research through the effective use of digital technologies. Through a range of programmes we are able to develop and share knowledge and resources to support new approaches and we are working through partnerships and collaborations with institutions and sector bodies to build capacity across the sector and support change. These collaborations are key to better embedding new knowledge and thinking and we have taken new approaches by working with and through professional associations that represent a large number of staff roles in the HE sector. A shining example has been through the DDL programme, a 2 yrprog which aims to promote the development of coherent, inclusive approaches to digital capability within the sector. Alongside 12 institutional projects, we’ve been working with 10 associations. NEXT SLIDE.Having them involved in this work has brought a cross-fertilisation of expertise which will ultimately add value to their services to members and enhance and better embed knowledge and resources to support technology-enhanced practice. BACK TO SLIDE.As a result of this collaborative approach the associations involved in this programme, led by SEDA, have worked together to develop this work around the UKPSF. Jisc’s role has been to enable and facilitate rather than lead so the ownership is very much with these organisations. What this resource does in essence is to provide a UKPSF lens on resources supporting digital practice so it is fully contextualised for you as users. Have included link to the Design Studio from which many resources have been drawn for further background and emergent outputs and outcomes from the DDL programme.
Hand over to David to say a bit more about the Associations work and particularly how this resource has emerged.
