believed that blind and deaf people could
not live a normal life. Helen Keller changed
that.

first met her she was an angry little girl.
Helen Keller spoke by screaming, pouting
and wailing.

read and write. In addition to English she
learned to speak French and Greek.
5. Because Helen Keller was blind she could not
read words. She had to read by using Braille.
Braille is words you feel. The words are
spelled with raised dots!
6. Helen Keller became an author. She wrote 13
books and a plethora of articles. She learned
to ride a horse and a bike. Before she turned
88 she died. Helen was a hero.
8. Many famous people met Helen Keller including
Mark Twain, Alexander Bell, and President
Grover Cleveland. Many people were
impacted by her amazing story.
9. Helen Keller got to know water by having it
poured and spelled in her hand.
