Story behind Heroes
Everyone want to be the chosen one, working hard all day long doing work
or study just to achieve a grade so that they can stand at the top of the world
wishing to be a hero. ‘Hero is not the one who can fight physically but also
mentally.’ by Jackie Chan. After I watched Wreck-It Ralph and How to Train Your
Dragon, I learned something from the movie and redefine the meaning of heroes.
Both of the main character sharing the samepersonalities, make changes,
sacrifice for others and educate themselves.
Both of the main character ,Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph and Hiccup from
How to Train Your Dragon wishing to be a hero since they were born, they are
regular person just like others. In the movie, they realize that being a hero wasn’t
an easy task, it’s a test. Heroes are not born to be hero, they are forged. They
are forged through practice, through preparation, through study and through
circumstance. Somehow, they have different positive personalities from others
such as kind, loving, hardworking, courage, lucky and etc. that made them
special from others. These kinds of personalities made them positive person and
helped them to develop themselves into a hero. Personalities affected them and
chased their obstacles away.
Then, both of them have their goal to achieve as a hero. In order to
achieve their goal as to become a hero, they never afraid to made a changed.
Sometimes, we have to follow the right way instead of following majority just like
what Ralph and Hiccup did. At first, they were afraid to make changes for their

life they forgot that they always have options and isolated themselves from
others. They always ask everyone for their opinion so that they don’t have to take
the responsibility for making the decision but when the thing happen, they make
up their mind and take their responsibility for the decision they made. Like the
Spiderman said, It’s the choices make us what we are and we can always
choose to do what’s right.
Otherwise, they always sacrifice themselves to help someone that in
needs. Instead of being kind to themselves, they did something for someone
without any hesitation. They don’t choose to who to help and being a listener for
those who need. They always being kind to others instead of themselves,
sacrifice without asking for any return. Ralph didn’t ask anything from the girl,
Vanellope to win the race and sacrificed his only medal in his life. While Hiccup
spend most of his time making friend with his dragon, Toothless instead of
learning how to fight a dragonand kill them, without great fighting skills he was
isolated by his friend. Anyhow, both of them achieve their goal with something in
return, pride and friendship that is more valuable than anything in the world.
For both of the movie, they end with happy ending. Ralph and Hiccup
didn’t really have what they wanted for but they learned a lesson and earn
something that is more than their expectation. They have compassion and take
caring people around them. They love their friend like how much Hiccup loves his
dragon, Toothless and how much Ralph loves his friend, Venellope. In addition,
they educate themselves, studying their enemy and surrounding so that they can
react instantly like what Ralph did to create a bug in the game in order to let

Venellope win the race while Hiccup made and modify artificial wing for his
dragon, Toothless.
Words come easy but when it came to reality, a lot of people are afraid to
be a hero. Just like what Christopher Reeve said, a hero is an ordinary individual
who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
You never know who you are until you decide who you aregoing to be.
