1. Welcome to World History – an online course through NCVPS. Since you and I are not in a classroom where I can give you instructions verbally, it is very IMPORTANT for you to READ instructions completely. I have created this tutorial to help you get started in our course. Please view it and ask questions if you still have them...

2. This is the main (home) page of the course – it's important you read the announcements EVERYDAY – they have important updates and reminders. You get a copy by email as well – did you get these emails? If not, please provide me with a current email address. Did you read through the ORIENTATION and COURSE INFORMATION? If not, you need to – it has lots of information to help you and “how to” documents as well. When you are ready to get started on Lesson 1 – click on the brown button that is circled on the left – LESSONS IN WORLD

3. Click Here when you are ready to continue Units 2 – 5 folders will open here as the course progresses. The course is designed using folders to help keep things organized. Each time you access the Lessons – you will go through this page.

4. Unit 1 Test folder will appear here when it's made available. Click here to enter the Lesson 1 folder.

5. Lesson 1 Main Page – folders with resources USE THEM – read carefully for instructions You will find the chapters to read and a link to the online text here in addition to more resources to gather information. View these powerpoints to gather information. Very IMPORTANT folder – this contains the instructions for each assignment and a DUE DATE CHART to help you stay on track.

6. Suggestion: PRINT this chart for every lesson to stay on track Assignments are due by 11:59pm on the due date. These folders contain the INSTRUCTIONS for the assignments, so you MUST OPEN and READ them carefully if you want to get full credit on the assignments. They often contain additional documents to help you on the assignments. Ask questions in the Ask Us Assign DB if you have them.

7. Make sure you read the assignment instructions carefully and follow all the steps – open the documents provided to help you (like the “How to Submit an Assignment.pdf” Click here to submit your assignment and follow the instructions on the “how to pdf”

8. In Lesson 2, we start world history content – it's important to gather information for the quizzes and other assignments. Use this folder to find out what chapter to read in your text (or access the online textbook) This folder has helpful resources you can print off as notes. These websites are not required but provide good info on the topics for each lesson. You can also view the powerpoints in the Lesson 2 folder.
