5. The target audience for my magazine is teenage girls. The target audience for pop
magazines are older children and teens of both genders, as I have created a pop magazine I
used this target audience but focused more specifically on girls as I thought this would be
easier to do as it allowed me to use colours and styles suitable for girls for example blue,
pink and yellow rather than trying to make my magazine suitable for both genders.
I have chosen the older target audience of pop magazines which is teenagers as opposed to
children as I feel the fashion house style on the clothing worn by pop stars would be more
suitable and appealing to teenagers rather than children as this is an area teenage girls are
interested in and will want to know about. I have also chosen teenage girls for my target
audience as I am within this group myself therefore I thought it would be beneficial to make
a magazine that I would like rather than appealing to younger children or boys that I do not
have as much information on what they would like for in a magazine.
My target audience would read my magazine because of the features that appeal to them
including the colours I have used that are considers to be more suitable for girls and
associated with pop Magazines. Using a picture of a pop star within the gender and the age
group of my target audience will attract them to read the magazine. The name of my
magazine ‘POP MAGAZINE’ is suitable for and will appeal to my target audience as it relates
to the content and it snappy and easy to remember; it is also suitable as it is not too
childish or girly as some current pop magazines are therefore it will appeal to older teenage
girls.
The article titles and content of my magazine include the pop industry, fashion and style
will make by target audience read my magazine as these are some of the things they are
interested in.
