 Some of the responses:
          I didn't [know] I could until I found AnyMeeting
 It distracts the audience. The presenter is not always
in a private place or the places change every time.
          Not high definition webcam.
          Need eye contact
 Too complicated and unsteady when DSL is too slow
 Bandwidth and opportunity for glitches to erupt.
 (This respondent DOES use a webcam) We use a
stand alone webcam/mic combo. It is easy to plug
into the laptop & put in front of any speaker.

 The “face” of the webinar
 Tells the story, promotes the product, educates
        the audience
 IDEALLY should be free and unencumbered
from producer role, minimally involved with
the PR/Marketing role with the focus on the

 Set up the Registration Process
 It should be VERY simple with first and last name,
                email address
 Have one required registration question for future
marketing purposes (How did you learn about this
webinar? What are you hoping to get out of attending
                 this webinar?)

 There are lots of ways to market in social
media, but one size does not fit all
          GOOGLE+
 Twitter (Create a twitter hashtag)
          YouTube Videos
          Pinterest
          Facebook
          Facebook Ads

          Linkedin: Groups, Events
                (http://events.linkedin.com/)
 Write a guest blog post on a topic very relevant to
your webinar topic and put webinar link at the end
of blog (along with your twitter, and website
                information)
 Internet Radio (become a guest)
 Other webinars that you do prior to the target

 More Marketing Techniques
          Email Marketing (CRITICAL!)
 Whether you use MailChimp, or Aweber of something else,
make sure it works for you and can be fully integrated with
                 your overall marketing efforts
          Your own blog posts
 Make sure you cross promote
 Your blog should be linked with your twitter
 Your website should be linked with everything!
 Groups (Meetups, Professional Organizations, Local
Business Groups, places where you audience spends their
           time)
 Constantly research where your audience might be and
don’t be afraid to shift your thinking on the answer to
           that question

 If you haven’t already done so, decide on platform you
will use for your webinar (AnyMeeting anyone!)
 Contact the platform provider with ANY questions or
concerns you have from a technical standpoint
 If the platform requires a payment, see if you can do a
trial (you want to make sure you are comfortable with
the platform before committing to it!)
 Find out what kind of support is available. Example
        from AnyMeeting: http://support.anymeeting.com/
 Start doing technical run-throughs and practice
sessions even if you don’t have your content and
        slideshow presentation done

 Do at least one run through creating multiple worst
                case scenarios
 If you have children, have them spontaneously run into
your practice and make a lot of noise
 Do you have a dog? Have the dog in the room with you
to see how you react WHEN your dog starts barking
 Be creative – what’s your worst nightmare? Act it out –
then own it so it doesn’t own you.

webinar success to the next level
 He had an upcoming webinar entitled "Effective Self-
Regulation Clinical Strategies for Restorative Sleep
Recovery“ with Larry Cammarata, PhD and Linda
                  Cammarata, RN, RYT
 I joined the webinar team as their producer

 Why is this a success story?
 Ed, Linda and Larry were committed to doing the
WORK! We practiced, worked out technical glitches,
                  and did more practices!
 The four of us worked as a team, recognizing each
others strengths and supporting each other through the
                  process
 We established roles from the beginning, with my role
being the producer, Ed being co-producer and marketer
with some presentation functions, Linda being the
primary presenter and Larry being the moderator.
 We enjoyed working with each other and gained
respected each other during the process.

 What worked?
 Everyone stayed in their “lane.” Roles were defined and
                adherence was very high
 Technical glitches were caught in one of several practices
                and dealt with immediately
 Buy-in was high from the entire team
 Suggestions were utilized and improved upon (the
                “teacher” learned from the student)
 Did I mention we really like each other and enjoy
                working together?
 You can see the final product here
                 http://www.mindbodymedicinenetwork.com/Featured-
                  Recordings.html

 Webcam v. No Webcam
 If you’re going to use a webcam make sure the
lighting is good (windows for daytime, great
lighting if the webinar is at night)
 You’ve got to make eye contact with the webcam
(this will take practice to make sure you’re eyes are
not shifting between your slides and your webcam
(which can then make you appear . . . “shifty”)
 Make sure whatever is behind you is not distracting

 This is if you wish to create a screencast
 Camtasia, Microsoft Expression Encoder ,
                Screenflow and other Screencast software:
                http://tech.abhishekbiswal.com/2011/03/best-free-
                alternative-to-camtasia.html
 You can also use programs such as Windows Movie
                Maker or iMovie

                              www.learnforlifeconsulting.com

 If you’re going to be selling a product or
service, let the audience know up front. It’s
your job to keep them engaged until the end
even if you are selling a product
 The most important point of the webinar
should NOT be to sell something but to
        provide useful information.

 Practice with all the equipment you will be using
                 Microphone (ideally have a back-up)
 Exact computer or computers you will be using during
                  the webinar
 Any other equipment you will utilize
 If you have access to an extra laptop/computer have it
available, charged and ready to go with the slideshow
                  loaded

they are still live and not broken
 May want to have back-up documents in case
the links do not work during the presentation

  • 11. Some of the responses:  I didn't [know] I could until I found AnyMeeting  It distracts the audience. The presenter is not always in a private place or the places change every time.  Not high definition webcam.  Need eye contact  Too complicated and unsteady when DSL is too slow  Bandwidth and opportunity for glitches to erupt.  (This respondent DOES use a webcam) We use a stand alone webcam/mic combo. It is easy to plug into the laptop & put in front of any speaker. www.learnforlifeconsulting.com July 25, 2012 ©L.E.A.R.N for Life Consulting, L.L.C.
