2. Camera – Poster and Review
photos, filming our documentary
• We have access to multiple cameras in our school media editing
room. They are small, light and easily packaged which is useful in
terms of transport, and easy to set up, and the quality of footage the
camera produces is excellent, with good focus and good detail.
• We have much experience with video camera’s, and have had more
practice since AS through our planning by creating videos in our
research/planning aspects of A2 coursework.
3. TRIPOD
• For our AS coursework, we produced an opening sequence where
we had to master use of tripod which will benefit us for our current
coursework. This will help us achieve good eyeline matches for our
interviewees, and enable us to pan the camera on the tripod around
freely for our montage footage.
• Tripods are also made available to us from our media department.
4. Microphone
• We will be using a microphone when it comes to
recording our voice of God, and to improve the quality of
sound and reduce our amount to edit when the editing
process begins.
• We can source these from both our media and art
departments.
5. Prezi
• “Prezi is a U.S. software company, producing a cloud-based
presentation software and storytelling tool for presenting ideas on a
virtual canvas.”
• We used prezi a lot for our research/planning tasks at AS, and plan
to use it again at A2 level as we found the site easy to use. It also
helps us display our research in a creative layout, and will be useful
for storing all our information for our evaluation side of coursework.
6. Slideshare
• “The world's largest community for sharing PowerPoint, OpenOffice
presentations, Keynote, PDF and info graphics.”
• Slideshare has been useful for displaying our research tasks, as we
can complete a powerpoint and upload it directly and then copy the
link onto our blog quickly and easily.
• Slideshare displays our work well and enables us to show our work
in a creative way.
7. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP – CS4
• Adobe photoshop will be the software we use to create
our film poster and magazine review. As we both did a
video for our AS, we are looking forward to using Adobe
more intensely for the first time, as we only used it briefly
for our evaluation side of AS.
8. Final Cut Pro
• We began with the basics of final cut at GCSE level, and then for
our AS really had to learn a lot about final cut pro, and therefore we
feel very prepared to work with the software. The software will
dominate our coursework with an overload of footage and film that
needs to be edited and will be the software that we use to edit our
final coursework. This can be accessed in our media department.
