This document provides a summary of Hemingway's use of dialogue in his short story "Hills Like White Elephants". It outlines how Hemingway uses new paragraphs to indicate new speakers, quotation marks around dialogue, and punctuation both inside and outside of quotation marks depending on whether the dialogue is a question or statement. The document recommends varying dialogue tags beyond just "he said" and "she said" to add more interest. It provides references to the text of the story and images used.

marks.

mark the end of the sentence.
