Christmas in Poland

1. 18th - 19th December 2014
On 18th December we prepared Christmas Eve supper in
our school according to old Polish customs and traditions.
We shared the blessed wafer, exchanged wishes , ate
traditional dishes (red beet soup with mushroom
dumplings, mushroom soup, fish, sauerkraut with beans or
mushrooms, dumplings stuffed with mushrooms and
cabbage, noodles with poppy seeds and honey, poppy seed
cake and dried fruit compote). We also prepared some
recipes for Christmas Eve dishes and a lot of Christmas
decorations. After the supper we sang carols – traditional
songs about the birth of Christ.
On 19th December we had Christmas school assembly,, we
exchanged wishes, sang carols and everybody had a
wonderful time.
