and Laser Scanning
Extensive use of cutting edge visualization technologies for the
creation of virtual environments:
• To improve safety conditions
• To decrease costs
• To achieve highest quality of the final result
3D data capture using Laser Scanning techniques:
• Fully digitizes existing 3D environments
• Very fast, efficient and reliable
• Facilitates the recreation of 3D scenes and objects
Combination of technologies results in:
• Digital recreation of existing, enhanced or imaginary worlds
• Virtual “insertion” of the actors’ action in them

• Detailed scanning of the internal of the Stadium
• Average resolution of 2cm
• Intensity color
• No georeferencing
• Everything to be carried out in one single day (May 12th 2011)
• Delivery of aligned pointcloud and 3D model in Polyworks format

• Engagement of 2 ILRIS units with PTBase
• Site recognition on the 11th of May

• Hazy conditions in the early morning
• Part of the foyer and an entrance gate had to be covered too
• Limited access to the pitch
• Crowd tiles shooting in the afternoon
• Power and other h/w issues
• 16 scanning positions in total (6 for the internal, 10 for foyer and
entrance)
