Elizabeth Cady Stanton was born in 1815 in Johnstown, New York. She received a formal education where she excelled academically. In 1848, Stanton organized the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York where she helped draft the Declaration of Sentiments advocating for women's rights. Stanton went on to become a prominent writer and activist in the women's suffrage movement, working closely with Susan B. Anthony to campaign for women's right to vote. She authored numerous publications on women's rights and suffrage until her death in 1902.
