a desert into a jungle
A scientist who wanted his formula had his lab destroyed, with Alec in it, and in his
dying moments as he burned alive he ran into the swamp filled with the BioRestorative
Woke up as a monster with a body made out of plants
Initially thought that the Bio-Restorative had kept his mind alive in a plant body,
but then discovered with Constantine’s help that in fact he had been chosen by an
ancient group to protect the plant world
This group was called the Parliament of Trees, a grove of talking trees who were
once swamp things or plant elementals themselves
The Parliament watches over the Green, a mystical force that connects all plant life
To protect it, they choose a human to die and become an avatar, or elemental,
who uses the power of the Green to defend it from those who’d do it harm,

Swamp Thing upon discovering this under their guidance set out with Constantine
to fight threats to the Green, the earth, and the universe itself
