2. It is the dream of every Indian to see India in the elite league of Developed Nations. The key
contributors that will funnel this growth and help in realization of this dream are Quality Education,
Quality of Citizen Life, and Business Growth. The future of the nation is in the hands of today’s young
generation. The time is perhaps appropriate for India to invest sincere efforts to mould the young
generation to take up the future challenges. There is a compelling need to produce Nation Ready and
Industry Ready Leaders from academic institutions.
Project Management Institute, Pearl City Chapter (PMIPCC) (www.pmi-pcc.org) has defined it’s
commitment to join hands with the academia in shaping our great Nation. Realizing the importance of
the role of students in this journey PMIPCC’s Volunteer Leadership is engaged in building the “Nation
Ready” and “Industry Ready” Students with their unique Student Leadership Competency Building
(SLCB) initiative to shape the Academia, Business and Civic Society and to take our great Nation into
the league of Developed Nations before 2020”
PMIPCC is pleased to announce its second National Student Leadership Conference Gyan Lahari
Student Leadership Conference – 2011 & International Student Leadership Day Celebrations at
Hyderabad, India on 3rd February 2011. The primary objective of this conference is to create
awareness and thrust on the importance of building the leadership competencies for the students in
the age group of 12- 22 years in India and also to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

Educating students on the importance of leadership which helps them to acquire soft skills

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP DAY (ISLD)
Students in the age group of 12 – 22 years have to ignite their minds by practicing leadership.
Students should prepare for future and they have to mould their minds to deliver extraordinary results
during 35+years of their future career.
Each and every student in the world has to create an individual Vision Statement as per his/her
aspirations and work passionately towards realizing that vision.
We need exclusive one day in a year to inspire, motivate and influence the students to practice
leadership. This one day inspiration has to provide the fuel for students to passionately practice
Leadership for remaining 364 days of that year!
PMI Pearl City Chapter has announced International Student Leadership Day (ISLD) celebrated
on 03rd February every year. Student Leadership Advocacy and Outreach programs have to be
conducted in all nations to bring in the awareness on value of Leadership. International Student
Leadership day is the „Leadership Festival‟ which would be celebrated on this day every year by
students, parents and teachers all over the world
This day aims at creating interest and awareness on Leadership to the students in the age group of 12
– 22 years.

2. To bring in awareness to Students on the value of Leadership.
3. To think and plan for future direction of children, and students without mixing up with the past
and present issues.

ABOUT PMI PEARL CITY CHAPTER (PMIPCC)
PMI PEARL CITY CHAPTER is one of the vibrant chapters of the global organization Project
Management Institute, USA (www.pmi.org). It is also one of the fastest growing components in the
Asia Pacific region. The chapter was incorporated in the year 2001 with 25 members and has grown
close to 1000 members. The chapter has made significant contribution in the region by evangelizing
the project management profession and leadership through seminars, workshops, conferences and
network meetings.
Over the last 5 years the chapter’s unique initiatives on Leadership Competency Development for
students created awareness for around 20,000 students. Target is to reach around 100,000 students
soon. The Chapter was the recipient of “2006 Community Advancement through Project Management”
award and “2010 Recognition for Excellence” award in the component of the year category.

PMIPCC has embarked various activities as a part of the Academia initiative one of them is the
