  1. The Chancellor's Re-Engineering Committee saw a need to offer a distance learning system option to VCCS colleges that will expand their capacity for greater student access and comprehensive course offerings. This was done through a shared services arrangement piloted by Northern Virginia Community College, sharing both FTE and tuition revenues. The panel is made up of partner colleges representatives, ELI teaching faculty, and STUDENTS (all both live and recorded) who will discuss their first semester experience of piloting the sharing of distance learning courses and services across the state. Questions from the audience are welcome.
  2. Attendees will be informed on the progress of one of the Chancellor's Re-engineering Task Force Big Ideas. They will know how the concept of shared distance learning courses and services might impact them and be of benefit to their students. They will also be aware of some of the challenges a project of this nature has encountered and the solutions created through open collaboration.
