This document provides instructions for using a ticker timer and other equipment to determine the value of g, the acceleration due to gravity, through free fall experiments. It outlines the necessary materials, including a ticker timer, paper, paper clips, weights, and measuring tape. It then lists the six steps of the procedure: 1) setting up the equipment, 2) dropping the weight and starting the timer simultaneously, 3) stopping the timer when the weight hits the ground, 4) plotting a velocity-time graph and calculating its gradient to determine g, 5) repeating with different weights, and 6) calculating the average of all g measurements. Potential sources of error are also noted.
