Casino ABS was founded by the late Heinz Oldach

since 1973. Oldach began his business career as
general manager of the carnival rides arm of Acme.
When he was 28, Oldach and Acme colleague Harry
Nash bought the carnival company, added new
rides, and, in 1973, incorporated Alberta Bingo
Supplies Ltd. (hence the name ABS).

Silver Dollar Action Centre was established at the present location of Century Casino Calgary in 1983. On
July 1, 1996, Frank Sisson’s Silver Dollar Casino was added to the facility. The Silver Dollar was owned by
the colourful Frank Sisson, a Scottish-born bowling entrepreneur and breeder of miniature horses. In
October, 2007, Sisson sold the Silver Dollar casino to British Columbia-based Evergreen Gaming Corp. for
$22-million. Evergreen subsequently asked for creditor protection and the casino was placed into
receivership. It was purchased by Century Casinos Inc. in January, 2010.

Cowboys Casino dates to 1969 when the Frontier Casino Entertainment (PLE) Group
became the second legal casino in the province. In 1988, the
casino opened in its "old" location in the Big Four Building on
the grounds of Stampede Park. The "old" Stampede Casino was
approximately 40,000-square-feet in size although it expanded
during the 10 days of the Stampede in July. The "new"
Stampede Casino facility opened in June, 2008 and was
renamed Cowboys Casino in 2012.
