3. The following changes have been made in the IAS Main Exam.
1. Now there will be Four Papers of General Studies instead of
two papers of General Studies.
2. Now there will be only one Optional Subject Instead of two
Optional Subjects.
3. Now the Optional Subject will be of 500 marks instead of 600
marks.
4. Now the Essay Paper will be of 250 marks instead of 200
marks.

6. The main points of difference between the Previous pattern and the
pattern of MAINS this year are as below :
 Number of General Studies paper will be 4 this year, which was 2
earlier.
 Maximum marks in General Studies this year will be 1000 this year
which was 600 in the previous papers.
 Total Marks in IAS Mains(Written) will be 2350.
 Weightage of General Studies will be 57.5% this year as compared
to earlier which was 23%.
