2. Vipassana meditation technique is a method to see
the things as they really are, is one of India's oldest
techniques of meditation. The technique was
rediscovered by Gotama Buddha 2500 years before.
Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through selfobservation. It is the technique which makes deep
interconnection between our body and mind. Vipassana
means seeing through. It can be done with different
steps for different people depend upon who you are
beginner or advance mediator,
3. For Beginners
“1. Sit cross-legged or other position comfortable for you.
Make sure to keep your spine straight so that energy flow in
your body and make the right posture.
2. Start from the top of your head – also known as ‘the
crown’ area and observe any sensations for a few
seconds. You can imagine your mind as a neutral scanner.
***Keep continuing the meditation mantra with following
instruction***
3. Scan the face and back of the head.
4. Now, Scan – the neck area
5. Then, Scan – the right shoulder
6. Scan the left shoulder
7. Scan the front torso and the back torso
4. 8. Scan the pelvic area
9. Scan the right thigh, leg and foot and back in
reverse
10. Scan the left thigh, leg and foot and back in
reverse
11. Scan upwards by scanning the pelvic area
12. Scan the front and back torso
13. Scan from the right hand, forearm and shoulder
14. Scan from the left hand, forearm and shoulder
15. Scan the neck area
16. Scan the face area and back of the head
17. Finish the scan of your body from your head.
5. For Advanced
1. Scan the whole area, i.e. the torso, as one area and observe
subtle and uniform sensations.
2. Now scan the whole front area of the body as ONE area
and second scan the whole back area as ONE area.
3. Focus on one area in the whole body and bring your
attention there.
4. Bring your attention and feel as if the subtle energy goes
through your whole body.
