Determining The Percentage Of People During The Future...
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment is to predict the percentage of people in the future generation of
contracting Type 2 Diabetes in their lifetime. In order to find results on this information, research
involving Type 2 Diabetes was conducted using several resources, including the American Diabetes
Association, CDC, the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Disease, and. After
gathering the information useful to understanding how Type 2 Diabetes is contracted and who is
affected, a small survey experiment was conducted using a random sample size of approximately 241
senior students at W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, TX. The survey was randomly conducted
by distributing the surveys through all senior English ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I. Introduction:
Research Question:Are there correlations between different risk factors that teenagers possess that
attribute to Type 2 diabetes and what do they mean in reference to the chances of future diagnosis and
health?
Type 2 Diabetes is a prevalent and growing epidemic in South Texas, according to the American
Diabetes Association. It is the community s duty and obligation to recognize the problems and risk
factors that attribute to Type 2 Diabetes, so that further generations can avoid these lifestyle habits.
Type 2 Diabetes is an insulin deficiency disease that occurs in people aged 40 or older, and is much
more common than Type 1 Diabetes because it can be acquired genetically, but it is more commonly a
progressive disease based on the individual s unhealthy lifestyle, which is why adolescents are still at
risk to contract Type 2 Diabetes. When a person has Type 2 Diabetes, they may suffer from insulin
resistance. The insulin levels in their body are too low, or the cells in a person s body do not respond
properlyto the correct amount of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas that strictly
regulates the use and amount of glucose (sugar) levels in an individual s blood. Sugar must be stored
for the future or used as energy by the body. Without insulin regulating an individual s blood sugar
level, a person may become hyperglycemic, with too high of a

Marketing Concepts Of Chipotle Mexican Grill
Introduction
The management of a company is the most important factor that determines its success. Flashing
business headlines such as a newly established company stealing the market share of an old company
makes it more interesting to learn about what the company is doing right. One example of a company
that has been in the news due to its continuous success is Chipotle.
The purpose of this report is to present a case study on Chipotle. Various web and printed resources
were used to compile this case study. The main focus of this paper is to use the different marketing
concepts learned and apply them to get a deeper understanding of a specific company like Chipotle.
The different marketing concepts that can aid in understanding a company includes company
overview, mission and vision, organizational environment, competitive advantage, corporate and
business strategies, organizational structure, organizational culture, social responsibility, company
policies and company leadership. These concepts will be used in the discussion of findings for this
report.

Understanding Diverticulitis
Concept overview as it pertains to the acute and/or chronic stable patient Diverticulitis is one part of
the Diverticular Disease, the other being diverticulosis. In order to understand what diverticulitis is,
we need to first define diverticulosis. Diverticulosis is when diverticula, which are pouches that form
in the intestines, most commonly found in the sigmond colon (Winkelman, Ignatavicius, Workman,
2015). Diverticula are usually formed due to an increase in pressure on the lining of the intestines,
usually in a weakened part of the lining (Winkelman, Ignatavicius, Workman, 2015). These pockets
can be caused from constipation due to straining themselves. When these pockets become inflamed or
infected this disease is considered diverticulitis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opening up the stomach is called laparotomy. This test can also be done laproscopically where they
use cameras to look at the organs. This is less invasive than the laparotomy. (Ignatavicius Workman,
(2016) pg. 1171). A CT of the abdomen and pelvis may also be done. This is much like an x ray but
the CT will show more detail. Cross sectional images are taken of the abdomen and pelvis, which
gives a better view because these images can see through the organs. These images are very accurate,
can produce 3D images, and can be looked at in multiple planes. (Pagana, T. (2014) pg. 1021) There
are a few different methods for testing Fecal Occult Blood Test and Fecal Immunochemimcal Test.
One test is the guaiac chemical assay which tests for blood. These tests are usually used to detect
colon cancer. DNA stool sample tests can be run as well with this type of test, and it is more sensitive
than the guaiac chemical test, but it is more useful in diagnosing cancer cells. An immunochemical
can be used as well to look for occult blood. This chemical looks for the globin in the hemoglobin of
human blood. (Pagana, T. (2014) pg.

Film Analysis Of The Great Gatsby
When someone is talking about the American Dream usually what comes to mind is the pursuit of
happiness and individualism; however, after WW1 as the nations wealth increased and materialism
heightened, this concept started to reshape. As massive wealth differences started to become so
prevalent in society, this American dream in the 1920 s shifted it s focus to the desire for this luxurious
lifestyles. This decadence and the American Dream was a large theme of the 2013 film The Great
Gatsby directed and cowritten by Baz Luhrmann. Along with many other themes such as love, triumph
and tragedy, wealth, ethics, and the past. This film is widely known for it s elite use of film form to
express these themes such as mise en scene, sound, and narrative. A particular scene that has a variety
of the well used cinematic techniques in the film, was the extravagant party scene at the protagonist
Jay Gatsby multi million dollar mansion. This illuminating, frenetic scene blows you away with this
enormous, energetic, brightly colored, and lavish celebration. This party scene is really important to
the film because it holds many significance to the overall themes and key messages. When Tobey
Maguire, playing Nick Caraway and the narrator, wanders the humungous party, he suddenly runs into
Jay Gatsby himself. At that moment when Gatsby introduces himself he seems glowing with
confidence and wealth, as fireworks go off and people cheer behind him. This scene had a great
amount of attention

Internal Parental Influences Essay
Introduction Jack is my male virtual child and I have been raising him since he was born up to now, at
10 years old. He is shy to make friends so he has a few, and gets incredibly good grades in school. His
grades tend to have mostly A s, he enjoys history and science since they are his strength. He always
has to be doing something so he loves to be involved in school. For example, he likes to do art design,
play in the school orchestra as a violinist, play baseball and likes to build things at home that I help
him with. Jack has had some up s and down s during his development but overall he is doing very
well. In addition, the purpose of this paper is to identify the kinds of influences Jack has had

I don t like to punish him because I know that doesn t help, so instead I like to talk things through with
him and spend as much time as I can. This same research by Prinzie et. al. (2010), states that it s
actually not beneficial to not punish a child at all because they can grow to be very sensitive or
emotional to any punishment by anyone(pg.1317). This might be a reason why Jack was reported by
some teachers to get overwhelmed when something goes wrong in the class. Nevertheless, I insist on
not punishing Jack because he has been a great child. In addition, Jack has been influenced by my
partner and I because of our divorce when he was 6 years old. We knew that even though he was very
little, he would probably not be too affected by it but when he grew older, it was the way in which we
managed it that would affect him. According to Bigner Gerhardt in Parent child relations, an
introduction to parenting, they state that in the family systems theory what happens to one, happens to
the other. There is a series of steps in how a divorce unfolds in the family system but the last one,
family redefinition is what the child can have difficulty transitioning to, since they will have to
become a part of a binuclear family (2014, pg.252 253). I can see why even though we get along well,
Jack might have difficulty going from one house to the other every so often. The way that Jack

Using Jargon Should Be Avoided Unless
When communicating with parents for example, the use of jargon should be avoided unless its
meaning is understood by all. Itâ€TMs not just technical language, any terms that could cause offence
through a lack of understanding should not be used. This comes back to social background discussed
in question 3. In a case where information has been requested by a parent but you cannot provide it
you should clarify exactly what they want then pass on the request to the appropriate person. An
understanding of school policies is required to ensure you know exactly what can and cannot be

A lot of the time, children and young people will resolve issues themselves without the intervention of
an adult. The key is to observe and know when to step in. You need to remain neutral and allow each
person to explain what happened in their own words and without being interrupted. Listening is vital
in managing disagreements successfully and the volume/tone of voices should be kept to an
acceptable level. Assertive discussion/negotiation is required from you to ensure both children are
happy with the outcome. If a child becomes overwhelmed by emotions they may act in an
inappropriate manner displaying rage or frustration. This is known as an emotional outburst. In this
case a child should be removed from the situation and taken into a quiet and accepting environment
where they have time to calm down. You should speak to the child in a reassuring manner and ask
them to explain what has happened. If they are unable to do so then simply talk about what upset them
suggesting what they could do in future if they experience similar feelings. Conflicts with adults are
more complex as they could involve children, parents or staff. That said, many of the principles for
managing these disagreements discussed above (for children/young people) still apply. No individual
involved in a conflict should be discriminated against. Dealing with issues in the privacy of a quiet
room is important in ensuring that all involved feel comfortable. In a case where an

Evaluating The Internal Control System
The auditor required to providing a reasonable assurance about the financial statements that they are
free of error or fraud by planning and performing audit work in conformity with GAAS (AU C 240).
According to AU C 240, fraudulent financial reporting and misappropriation of assets are the two
main category of fraud. The auditor should consider the incentive or pressure upon the employee,
evaluating the environment or the opportunities to commit the fraud and looking at the justifications to
committing fraud when he assessing a likelihood of fraud (AU C 240). However, in the case they were

In addition, the auditor should achieve the understanding of the control environment by evaluating the

for supporting his opinion on the internal control (AS 5). CUC had a poor quality in the internal
control system and management put the pressure and incentives to meet Wall Street expectations. A
good example for override of the management on the internal control system was the revenue
recognition. AU C 240 requires significant procedures to the possible risk in management override

The Financial Position Of Melbourne
Executive summary
Melbourne IT limited, founded in 1996 provides internet based technology services such as internet
domain name, web hosting, online brand protection and promotion. The company operates through
two major segments which are SMB solutions and Enterprise services.
The aim of this paper is to analyse the financial position of Melbourne IT limited through the use of
financial ratios, based on the annual report for the periods December 2012 and 2013. Financial ratios
are useful since they measure a company s performance and give an overview of the financial
situation. Ratios are also used to analyse trends and to compare a firms financial figures to other
competitors within the same industry.

Bazely and Hancock (2010)
During the period 2012 and 2013, the Operating profit margin decreased from 9.2% to 5.7%. This
slight decline can be attributed to the decreased revenues and the increase in tax expenses.
The Net Profit Margin in 2012 was 10.5% while in 2013 it was 66.6%. This increase in the Net Profit
Margin can be attributed to the increase in net profits after taxes despite the fact that there was a slight
decrease in revenues.
During this period, the Return on Assets increased from 5.7% in 2012 to 34.6% in 2013. This implies
the number of cents earned on each dollar of assets increased from 2012 to 2013. This shows that the
business has become more profitable. Equally, the Return on Equity also increased from 12.0% in
2012 to 46.5% in 2013. This similarly implies that the company in 2013 was more efficient in
generating income from new investment. This, also can be attributed to the sale of the Digital
Business Brand which enabled the company appraise its strategic plan.
The Earnings Per share in 2012 and 2013 were $2.90. This is an indicator that the company is still
profitable since the ratio is a constant. The price per earnings in 2012 was 12.5 and 17.7 in 2013. A
decrease in the price per share may indicate a vote of no confidence to investors. However, this can be
attributed to the industry sector as well the stock.

The Importance Of Obesity In The United States
The basic aim of the paper is to carry out research work on the social concern which I have selected
obesity. The topic of obesity has been selected because it has become a major social concern of the
United States as well as other industrialized countries. Information related to the research of obesity
will be helpful for determining major causes and adverse consequences which are associated with
obesity in the U.S. This topic was selected with the hopes in finding effective ways which can be used
for preventing the ever increasing numbers of obesity in the world. While a lot of people try to blame
children, and even adults, being overweight and obese on genetics, that does not play as crucial of a
role as people try to make it sounds. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated previously, along with home and school based intervention, it needs to get even bigger with
community and government based interventions. Education is the key. By organizing community
activities, walks can be planned to encourage physical activity, paths can be made for children to ride
bikes on, and playgrounds can be established for things like basketball and other physical activity. By
coming together as a community and encouraging these things within our children, obesity can
decrease significantly over the next five to ten years. Preparing foods at home and leaving fast food
chains alone is also a major factor in preventing obesity. The fast food industry has become a huge
target in the obesity rate. Erci Schlosser s surprise best seller, Fast Food Nation, featured some
familiar demonization arguments: A cynical industry targets children, reshapes their eating habits (it is
hugely profitable to increase the size and the fat content of their portions ), and literally spongers an
epidemic ( no other nation in history has gotten so far so fast ) (Kersh Morone,

The Invention Of The Love Sharpener
image source Before 1894, pencils sharpeners were big and heavy, so carrying it about was a big
issue. Some were mounted on the walls of a class room, while some were placed on the desk, despite
the fact that these old school revolving sharpeners looked super cool and perplexing, they were
cumbersome. A travelling writer or student couldn t carry it about.
African American inventor John Lee Love changed the way we see pencil sharpeners in 1894 when he
invented the Love Sharpener, the portable hand wrenched sharpener that peppers a lot of student s
backpacks right up till the present day.
According to history, John Lee Love was a black American carpenter and inventor. He was best

named after him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is estimated that he was born some time amid the recreation time frame between 1865 to 1877. Love
in his later days worked as a carpenter in the community of Fall River, Massachusetts.
He applied for a patent for a portable pencil sharpener in 1897. His application determined that his
invention was an enhanced gadget that could serve as a paperweight or trimming. The design was
straightforward, including a hand wrench and a compartment to catch the pencil shavings. In John Lee
Love s creation, the pencil is put into the opening of the sharpener and pivoted by hand. It was
referred to conversationally as the Love Sharpener.

The Yucatan white tailed deer is reddish tan in color, with gray along its chest and white on its throat,

that are shed each year. They use these antlers to attract mates, mark their territory and sometimes to
fight or defend their territory against other males. About six months after mating, the female deer,
called a doe, will have 1 3 offspring known as fawns. The fawns are reddish brown at birth, and are

The Life And Opinions Of Tristram Shandy, Sisband
Writing, when properly managed, (as you may be sure I think mine is) is but a different name for a
conversation (87; vol. II, ch. XI), states the narrator Tristram Shandy in Laurence Sterne s novel, The
Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. Indeed, the distinctive writing style of the novel
may make one feel reminded of a real conversation due to the many interruptions and digressions,
which are typical of human face to face interaction and which occasionally make it more difficult for
the reader to follow the storyline.
Following the above depicted statement, Tristram proceeds by maintaining that the truest respect
which you can pay to the reader s understanding is to halve this matter amicably, and leave him

in terms of how they are dealt with. In order to achieve this, the analysis will be confined to only three
visual elements, namely asterisks, dashes, and gaps because they are the most common ones. Although
literary researchers have already examined these particular visual elements, they have not done so in
terms of their recipients. For my analysis, it is important to distinguish between the narratee, the
implied reader, and the actual reader: According to Jahn, the narratee is the narrator s fictional
addressee (cf. N1.5.); the implied reader, as already mentioned above, is a text s overall projection of a
reader role, superordinate to any narratee (N2.3.2.), which means that he is e.g. able to understand the
function of all visual elements in the novel and handles them perfectly; Which is, according to Iser,
influenced by his former experience (cf. Der Akt des Lesens 66). The actual reader, consequently, does
not necessarily have this experience and might struggle during the reading

Holy Thursday by Blake Essay examples
Holy Thursday by Blake In Holy Thursday Blake expresses feelings towards the society around him;
England in the 18th Century, and the emotional, spiritual and moral poverty. He uses the word holy as
he feels people are being sacrilegious to the country and are misusing it s ****. Rich is the adjective
used to describe the countries material things. Fruitful could mean it is an agricultural and productive
place. Another possibility is that it could represent temptation or corruption, like ... Show more

The use of the words bleak and bare used to describe their fields could be a metaphor for their lives.
They see their future as having nothing in it, lifeless and empty. Blake says, their ways are filled with
thorns , he could mean that they cannot escape or that their future has worse things to come. The word
winter creates an image of cold and bleakness, and with the addition of eternal makes it seem as if
their lives have always been like this, and always will be. The significance of sun and rain in the
fourth verse could be that they both are not under man s control; they humble us. Blake could be
saying that if the world were not under man s control, and if the poor people were free from
oppression, poverty would not exist. Poverty is the result of man s own selfishness.
In The Chimney Sweeper and Holy Thursday there are many recurring symbols and themes including
the callous attitude of parents to children. In The Chimney Sweeper the children are referred to as little
black things . Little emphasises the isolation and vulnerability of the child. The child is described as a
black thing among the snow . The snow could represent innocence and purity. The second line has an

Ancient Greek Philosophers
There has been much debate as to what change is, and is not. Ancient Greek Philosophers were not
indifferent to this. The early Greek Philosophers tried to explain what our world is comprised of,
whether it is monism (one true stuff, or reality), or pluralism (more than one reality, or stuff ). They
then proceeded to try to elaborate and explain how change and motion occur. Heraclitus conclusion
can be summed up in a quote of his: One cannot step into the same river twice. Parmenides and Zeno,
unlike Heraclitus, came to the conclusion that the world was practically an unmovable brick; there is
no change, there is no motion. Finally, Epicurus came to the conclusion that the world was formed
from indivisible, and constantly colliding atoms. Heraclitus was a monist. His interpretation of the one
and true reality was fire. This is not to be taken literally, because Heraclitus believed that the one
could never be any material thing, but was found in the orderliness of change. He said fire was always
changing yet somehow is always the same. He believed that everything is being changed constantly,
and this is occurring through a state of flux. By having orderliness, it becomes possible for the human
mind to comprehend the world, instead of it being entirely chaotic and based on the will of gods.
Since the rate of change is constant, an appearance of permanence exists. Hence, one cannot step into
the same river twice. (Jones 16) At first, it might appear as if you

The Well Being Aristotle And Human Happiness
Our Well Being: Aristotle and Human Happiness What is the purpose of a human being? Happiness is
the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence (Nicomachean
Ethics). When one thinks about happiness, these words said by Aristotle allow us to understand its
significance. Through Aristotle s teachings, he made it clear that the point of life is to be happy.
Aristotle uses the word happiness as having to do with a person s life as a whole, and not as the
constant desire of wanting to experience pleasure (Aristotle s Ethics). People tend view happiness as
an emotion that is not long lasting, while it is really about accumulating the good experienced an
entire lifetime. To Aristotle, happiness is about flourishing, virtues, focusing on our well being, and
self sufficiency. Aristotle is an ancient Greek philosopher who has played a part in subjects such as
mathematics and ethics. As a known student of Plato, Aristotle s knowledge on various topics
immensely affected people s philosophical views. For Aristotle, his definitions of human happiness
and a good life consist of being virtuous all throughout life. Happiness comes from being an overall
good person; this is the best way to lead a life and give it meaning (Psychology Today). According to
Aristotle, happiness is a continuing achievement. Happiness is more a question of behavior and of
habit of virtue than of luck; a person who cultivates such behaviors and habits is able to bear his

Different Methods, Bacteria, And Development Transduction,...
Through three different methods, bacteria can obtain new genetic material: conjugation, transduction
and transformation Transduction is when a bacteriophage inserts it s DNA into the host bacteria cell,
while conjugation is when the bacteria shares DNA through direct contact, eg. horizontal gene
transfer. The third method, transformation, is the intake of external DNA into the cell (Chen and
Dubnau, 2004). In order for bacteria to be able to take in extraneous DNA, they must first be in a state
of competent (Hanahan, 1983). There are two types of transformation cells in transformation: natural
competence and artificial competence. Natural transformation can occur in both gram negative and
gram positive bacteria, but have different pathways to take in the new DNA. There are several ways to
induce competence onto some bacteria cells, that are not naturally competence. Cells can be treated to
heat shock, starved of nutrients, the use of electroporation or keep in ionic solutions to induce
competence by increasing the permeability of the membrane (Van der Rest et al., 1999). Plasmids are
circular double stranded DNA found in bacteria that can encode for basic necessary functions
(Couturier, et al., 1988). Ampicillin (6[D( ) a aminophenylacetamido] penicillanic acid) is an
antibiotic that is a derivative of penicillin and is can work against both gram negative and gram
positive bacteria (Acred et al. 1962)

Systems Theory presents the idea that all organizations and their parts are systems that exist in relation

two types of systems, open and closed. An open system reacts, listens to, and embraces its publics,

making, not it s publics. When applied to my position at NKU as the practitioner, it is important for
me to keep in mind the importance of being an open system. For example, when trying to attract new

Comparing Mustangs And Corvettes
Chevy and Ford may have some things that look alike but they are actually very different. This essay
will talk about strength, speed, and how long the vehicle will last. It will talk about Duramaxes,
Powerstrokes, Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros. First, let s talk about trucks. A six point six liter
Chevy Duramax has four hundred forty five horsepower. A six point seven liter Powerstroke has four
hundred forty horsepower. Duramaxes are stronger than Powerstrokes by five horsepower. Next,
Corvettes and Mustangs. According to www.popularmechanics.com Corvettes are faster than
Mustangs. That doesn t mean Corvettes are funner. According to popularmechanics the mustang is
much funner to drive but it it is not as fast as the Corvette. It can t take turns like a Corvette can.
Corvettes take corners smoothly and don t wipe out. Mustangs can t do the sharpest of turns or they
could wipe out. If you want to just be stupid with your car then get a Mustang. They are good for
doing burnouts and doughnuts with. Corvettes are probably safer though. Everyone should want a
Corvette if they want to go fast. Ready to hear more about trucks? The contest between the Duramax
and Powerstroke is on again. It depends on what year. According to field and stream, the new
Duramaxes are the thing to get. Some say the old Powerstrokes were better. Some say that the

The Importance Of Moral Education
When schools are only putting pressure on the left side of students brains, what happens to the right
side? The left side of our brain is about analytical thoughts, whereas the right side of our brain is about
creativity. The real world needs both sides of our brains to work, but schools are only training our left
side and letting the right side deteriorate. School is killing creativity by the systems of mass education,
the fear of being wrong in class, and cuts in creative classes. For instance, Horace Mann used the
entire brain with intellectual and moral education which is something we are lacking in today.
Horace Mann was someone who thought about critical thinking, used research to his benefit, and
reflected on society which made him a leading proponent of intellectual and moral education in 1848.
He noticed how intellectual education is the basis of what equalizes men and demonstrated how
education holds the power to eliminate a lot of the negative aspects of society. As Mann stated, The
spread of education, by enlarging the cultivated class or caste, will open a wider area over which the
social feelings will expand; and, if this education should be universal and complete, it would do more
than all things else to obliterate factitious distinctions in society... (Mann). He noticed an equal chance
of education for men gives them all an equal chance to earn what they desire. Moral education played
a big role for Mann in the necessities of human existence. Horace Mann puts

Taking a Look at Validation Models
Schemas are important validation tools which can ensure data is valid and well formed for use. There
are different varieties that can be used to verify a document and ensure conformance to standards.
Some use a tree hierarchy and others just simple constructs. Lee and Chu (2000) note the following in
their paper; DTD, XSD, SOX, Schematron and DSD. Fawcett et al (2012) mention Schematron, DTD,
RELAX NG, and XSD. I will discuss some of these in comparison to DTD and XSD which are follow
ons from this week s Schema discussions.
DTD
This Schema type on uses attributes and elements and follows a hierarchy in structure type. It is very
simplistic and uses few attribute definitions, and does not follow XML type syntax. However, despite
its simplistic nature, it is the most widely used standard according to Lee and Chu (2000).
XSD
The true XML Schema Definition is very different from DTD in that it can be very granular in its
descriptive elements and follows XML syntax rules. This can make it very powerful, in its support of
namespaces and true data types, allowing for better conformity and use in data transformation and
query. Another strength of XML Schema is it inheritance, which can simplify some reuse of attributes
and combining of Schema documents. Its weakness goes hand in hand with its strength as the
complexity it allows for causes confusion by all but the most advanced users according to Fawcett et
al (2012).
RELAX NG

Improvements in Water Quality
In Malawi the major sources of water for both domestic and industrial use include lakes, rivers and
ground water. Ground water is dependable for supplying water in rural areas and also in some urban
areas even though this source of water is most common in the rural areas. In some urban areas, the
major source of water are rivers. According to Government of Malawi (2010), many river basins are
under severe pressure resulting from deforestation, settlements, climate change, industry, mining,
commerce and unsustainable agriculture. These have consequently impacted negatively on the water
quality mainly due to sediment loads, industrial wastes, chemicals from agriculture and proliferation
of aquatic vegetation. In urban areas, especially areas with high concentration of people, the major
problem has been management of waste disposal. This has resulted in plastics that are just littered
anyhow in the major urban areas including Blantyre ending up in rivers. Ground water though viewed
as one of the safe sources of water, there are also a number of quality issues that are associated with it.
According to Government of Malawi (2010), some of the issues include high concentrations of
minerals such as fluoride, nitrates especially in agricultural areas, manganese and fecal matter in some
areas. All in all, these issues make ground water quality to be degraded too. It is clear from above that
improvements in water quality are no longer evitable. Failure to doing this

How Technology Has Changed The Way We Conduct And Transact...
Computer technology will continue to flourish throughout the passage of time. Technology has
changed the way we conduct and transact business. As a result to these technological advances
businesses were required to adjust and adapt through the means of Computer Information Systems
(CIS) to survive in the modern business world. The workplace has changed significantly over the last
half century due to CIS. CIS has an effect over the business world, impacting how companies develop
and market their products, in conjunction with how people communicate and accomplish their jobs
more efficiently and successfully. The CIS field has grown drastically over the years. The employment
in CIS is projected to grow 22 percent from 2010 to 2020, according to The Bureau of Labor
Statistics. In 2020 there should be over 664,800 jobs open in the IS and CIS field (Thibodeau).
Computer information systems has revolutionized business by increasing a companies functionality,
improving data collection and lastly by flattening the world.
First and foremost CIS, also known as Computer Information Systems, is an integrated set of
components for collecting, storing, and processing data and for providing information, knowledge,
and digital products. Business firms and other organizations rely on information systems to carry out
and manage their operations, interact with their customers and suppliers, and compete in the
marketplace (Zwass). CIS is the combining of users, technology and processes to

The Grocery Store
Who would have thought that by opening up a single grocery store in the early 1900s, it would give
the ability for someone to open up over 60 more in less than ten years. In today s business market, it is
nearly impossible to open up 60 grocery stores in Toronto in less than 10 years. The reason being is
that the grocery retail industry is now becoming or has become an Oligopoly. When one is walking
through the streets of Canada looking at places to shop for groceries, one may stumble across several
options of grocery stores to choose from. Often people question whether to buy their groceries either
at No frills, Fortinos, Real supermarket or Loblaws. For many, the question is simply answered by
choosing the store nearest to the comfort of their home. Over time, customers become loyal to the
store for many different reasons, it often has to do with the experience offered at a certain chain and
loyalty programs. Many of these loyal customers will not buy from other supermarkets unless they are
away from home where their preferable store is not convenient. Not every Canadian customer is aware
that Loblaw Companies Limited, the single largest Canadian food retailer owns many of the different
supermarkets out there. This paper will prove that the Loblaw Companies Limited has is constantly
trying new things in order to maintain and improve success and will also be outlining the history,
organizational structure, target market, store design and the retail strategy of the company.

Essay on Born to Be Good Chapter 1 Sumarry

Personal Viewpoint of Chapter One of Born To Be Good The science of a meaningful life, by Dacher
Keltner
Anton Van Leeuwenhoek conducted the first microbiological observance in the fifteenth century with
such an utterly eccentric sense of curiosity, which it led to a field of study that would change the world
forever. I interpret the sudden change of subject from the first to second paragraph as a simile that the
new topic of jen science will, too, alter the world in a way that will disable our ability to ever overlook
this new realm of science.
Jen science seems to be a mix of a concept outlined by Confucius and, in a more contemporary light, a

I want to insert an excerpt from the chapter and attempt to understand its implications. The very
emphasis of the commandment Thou shalt not kill makes it certain that we are descended from an
endlessly long chain of generations of murderers, whose love of murder was in their blood as it is
perhaps also in ours.
Sigmund Freud
For such an authority to exclaim such words has profound implications. Firstly Freud was a known
atheist, and avidly so, therefore I believe he was employing sense of sarcasm that immediately
relinquishes the potency of this quote. Also, not to object to Sigmund Freud, but to assume that a
commandment makes certain our descent from murderers is simply untrue. Freud would have known
this, he was a pretty switched on bloke, which is why I think this quote is taken out of context or
perhaps he said it jokingly. Although it is an instruction to all peoples, it does not imply that all before
the commandment have done so. Freud had a glum look on humanity, from my perspective he would
not be an advocate of Jen science and is a good candidate to provoke a sense of imbalance in the
contemporary culture toward us all focusing on the negative. The data is presented in such a way as to
highlight correlations that support this Jen science. The graphs

The Greatest Day Of My Life
Everyone needs some form of escape from reality. While this varies from person to person, with the
entertainment business booming, it is safe to infer that many find their comfort with movie theatres.
Many of these people like to be engulfed by the story of their movie. My escape, however, comes
from just being inside the theatre. There is something magical about theatres that keeps bringing me
back. The first time I vividly remember going to the movies was when the second Harry Potter movie
released. I finally watched the first movie on our brand new DVD player and read the four books that
had been released. When the Saturday came to go to the Edwards in Irvine, I woke up extra early to
make terrible pancakes for everybody (this is also a time when I wanted to be a chef). I begged my
parents to take to me to the nearby 7 11 to buy all the candy that we were going to sneak in the theatre.
I knew that this was going to be the greatest day of my life. While I know now my parents were
reluctant to spend all that money, I know that today they would not change a thing. Going to the
movies in the early 2000 s for my family meant more than just watching a movie. With my mother
working two jobs and my father deploying every other year to different parts of the world as a Marine,
these Saturdays were a very rare occasion. Not only do I get to watch a movie, I get to spend a whole
day with my family hopping from movie to movie. There were no fights, no problems, and no worries.

Importance Of Love In My Life
I had always loved nature. I always played outside and ran around in the morning to cool off in the

flowers that were the most beautiful and alive. My mom loved them. Not just, oh cause my kid gave

is just a blur. As soon as my schedule started to begin, I lose more and more time outside. Those sunny
afternoons when I d roll down the steep hill in our backyard. Getting fresh mowed grass stuck in the
massive brown mop on my head. Now, I just have homework all night. Like all night. I can only watch
the neighbor kids from the window. Only wishing I could tell them what was coming. But I couldn t, I
just sat there listening to the birds chirping. I d never be able to smell the grape vines fresh in the
spring. Only in the woods did I feel at home. Or catch the golden leaves as they fell from the trees in
fall. It was like the world was ending, but at the same time, not ending. So in my opinion, I had to
suffer. Samantha Rose Jenkan! My mom hollered contempt. I perked up immediately like a deer
reacting to gun fire. Get down here right now! Stop moaning like a dying animal! You re in big

The Hazards of High Protein, Low Carbohydrate Diets Essay
The Hazards of High Protein, Low Carbohydrate Diets
A young, healthy teenage girl fell to her death after following a high protein, low carbohydrate diet for
no more than two weeks. The girl, having no identified sicknesses or medical conditions, exhibited
electrolyte imbalances along with minimal levels of potassium and calcium, which appeared to be a
result of the diet according to doctors at the University of Missouri Health Science Center. These
irregularities upset the normal electrical function of her heart causing it to stop and her to collapse (

High protein or ketogenic diets, those like the well known Atkins, are based solely on large
consumptions of proteins and fats while they restrict carbohydrates to a nearly invisible amount.
Although dieters are eating plenty of meat and getting their protein, possibly even an overload, they
are receiving very little, if any, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other nutrient rich foods, which are
essential to a well balanced diet ( High Protein Diets ). A study conducted on Atkins meals reveals
that, along with having too much protein and too little carbohydrates, they are unusually high in
saturated fat and cholesterol while minimal in fiber. The meals also fail to meet the recommended
daily values for several vitamins and minerals ( How does . . .? ). Therefore, with this type of diet, it is
vital to one s health that vitamins and minerals are consumed by means of supplements. There are
some nutrients, though, that cannot be acquired any other way than directly from the source ( The

supply enough vitamin [sic] and minerals and recommends that people take supplements.
Due to the imbalance of protein and carbohydrates, many serious side effects are linked to the weight

Whistleblowing implies the imperative necessity to alert others (company) about immorality issues,

loss of employment, and social rejection. (Chiu,R. 2003)

The whistleblower was aware that the company was falsifying documents, didn t meet the

due to the lack of funds at the end. (My IGN on that server was Crummzyy). I have also been
developer on a server called SparkzPvP but that server also went because the owner quit Minecraft.
However I do not currently develop today since I have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people would say that I do not deserve to be staff, and others might say that I do deserve to be
apart of the staff team. If I am going to be completely honest I do not think that I am very different
from The crowd . I want to help the server by become staff and helping players, banning hackers and
doing anything that a player needs (If they have a good reason for me to do it). If you want to choose
someone else that isn t my choice it is all up to you, but I believe I would be a good pick. Why I
should be accepted however is that I am nice to players and will help them with their problems, ban
hackers and overall be a positive player toward people. Again, it is totally the opinion that matters if I
stand out from the crowd, I believe that I am not very different in someways from The crowd but
different in others. I have experience in being a staff member and can screenshare players and know
when people are just flat out cheating, or lying to me about

Feline Leukemia Research Paper
Feline Leukemia (FeLV) was first discovered in the 1960 s. FeLV, is a virus transmitted by RNA, that
only felines can get. It is not transmittable to humans, dogs, or any other animals. FeLV is actually the
leading cause of death in cats, killing 85% of those infected within 3 years of diagnosis. With that
being said, it s very important for cat owners to regularly take their cats to the veterinarian for check
ups, as well as keeping them on a proper and healthy diet, which in turn will help prevent them from
being exposed to FeLV, and many other viruses.
Feline Leukemia is extremely common; it s spread through saliva, blood, nasal secretions and at times
urine and feces. Once infected within 2 4 weeks an acute stage of the infection begins. It weakens the
immune system, allowing all other viruses and diseases to be transmitted much easier including,
kidney disease, lymph sarcoma, and even anemia. Once infected the cat becomes more susceptible to
bacterial infections like FIP. Feline Leukemia is able to spread easily; because of this being groomed
after an infected cat, fighting an infected cat, or any contact with a cat carrying the FeLV virus, may
transmit the virus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keep your cat indoors; the majority of infected cats are outdoor cats, or indoor/outdoor cats. Have
your cat tested annually, you may not know it but your cat could be spreading the virus to other cats.
Knowing if your cat is infected isn t just for your cat s health, but for all other cats that they may come
in contact with. On average, testing 1,000 feral cats will result in the identification of 60 cats who test
positive for either FIV or FeLV; that would mean $12,000 needs to be spent to identify 60 positive
cats. That same $12,000, at an average spay/neuter cost of $50, could be put instead towards neutering
240 feral cats (neighborhoodcats

States had endured in its stock market history, and for the rest of the world too. Many causes took
place that lead to the stock market crashing. It caused such devastating tragedies to the country that it
was hard to deal with most of the country being in poverty. America was able to recover from it,
however it took them big steps in order to reach that goal. The Stock Market Crash of 1929 was

I Agree With Reservations With The Title
I agree with reservations with the title. For the purposes of this essay, the word describe will be
defined as the active act of either explaining or representing an idea or concept within an area of
knowledge. The word transform will be defined as having a great impact the world . Not to be
confused with change , here, transforming considers a degree of innovation, whilst change highlights a
minor shift. The word seek is key, and will represent the idea that within the Area of Knowledge, there
can be the active intent to transform or describe.
One event can be interpreted as both transforming and describing, due to the room for subjective
judgement inherent in both of these two ideas. The concepts of description and transformation are
abstract in nature. The idea that one event has the capability of both describing and transforming the
world in different ways is evident in the area of knowledge of history. Here, the description of the past
has the potential to transform the present. The discovery of what happened behind China s
metaphorical walls would forever transform the way Mao and his regime was perceived. A specific
case of this is the French intellectuals involved in The Wind from the East: French Intellectuals, the
Cultural Revolution, and the Legacy of the 1960s which outlines first hand how a group of French
students were seduced by Mao s apparently pure ideology and the perceived cultural and intellectual
impact of the East during the 1960s. This is an

Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to predict the percentage of people in the future generation of contracting Type 2 Diabetes in their lifetime. In order to find results on this information, research involving Type 2 Diabetes was conducted using several resources, including the American Diabetes Association, CDC, the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Disease, and. After gathering the information useful to understanding how Type 2 Diabetes is contracted and who is affected, a small survey experiment was conducted using a random sample size of approximately 241 senior students at W. Introduction: Research Question:Are there correlations between different risk factors that teenagers possess that attribute to Type 2 diabetes and what do they mean in reference to the chances of future diagnosis and health? Type 2 Diabetes is a prevalent and growing epidemic in South Texas, according to the American Diabetes Association. It is the community s duty and obligation to recognize the problems and risk factors that attribute to Type 2 Diabetes, so that further generations can avoid these lifestyle habits. Type 2 Diabetes is an insulin deficiency disease that occurs in people aged 40 or older, and is much more common than Type 1 Diabetes because it can be acquired genetically, but it is more commonly a progressive disease based on the individual s unhealthy lifestyle, which is why adolescents are still at risk to contract Type 2 Diabetes. When a person has Type 2 Diabetes, they may suffer from insulin resistance. The insulin levels in their body are too low, or the cells in a person s body do not respond properlyto the correct amount of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced in the pancreas that strictly regulates the use and amount of glucose (sugar) levels in an individual s blood. Sugar must be stored for the future or used as energy by the body. Without insulin regulating an individual s blood sugar level, a person may become hyperglycemic, with too high of a ... In order to understand what diverticulitis is, we need to first define diverticulosis. Diverticulosis is when diverticula, which are pouches that form in the intestines, most commonly found in the sigmond colon (Winkelman, Ignatavicius, Workman, 2015). Diverticula are usually formed due to an increase in pressure on the lining of the intestines, usually in a weakened part of the lining (Winkelman, Ignatavicius, Workman, 2015). These pockets can be caused from constipation due to straining themselves. When these pockets become inflamed or infected this disease is considered diverticulitis. ... This is less invasive than the laparotomy. (Ignatavicius Workman, (2016) pg. 1171). A CT of the abdomen and pelvis may also be done. This is much like an x ray but the CT will show more detail. Cross sectional images are taken of the abdomen and pelvis, which gives a better view because these images can see through the organs. These images are very accurate, can produce 3D images, and can be looked at in multiple planes. (Pagana, T. (2014) pg. 1021) There are a few different methods for testing Fecal Occult Blood Test and Fecal Immunochemimcal Test. One test is the guaiac chemical assay which tests for blood. These tests are usually used to detect colon cancer. DNA stool sample tests can be run as well with this type of test, and it is more sensitive than the guaiac chemical test, but it is more useful in diagnosing cancer cells. An immunochemical can be used as well to look for occult blood. This chemical looks for the globin in the hemoglobin of human blood. (Pagana, T. (2014) pg. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Film Analysis Of The Great Gatsby When someone is talking about the American Dream usually what comes to mind is the pursuit of happiness and individualism; however, after WW1 as the nations wealth increased and materialism heightened, this concept started to reshape. As massive wealth differences started to become so prevalent in society, this American dream in the 1920 s shifted it s focus to the desire for this luxurious lifestyles. This decadence and the American Dream was a large theme of the 2013 film The Great Gatsby directed and cowritten by Baz Luhrmann. Along with many other themes such as love, triumph and tragedy, wealth, ethics, and the past. This film is widely known for it s elite use of film form to express these themes such as mise en scene, sound, and narrative. A particular scene that has a variety of the well used cinematic techniques in the film, was the extravagant party scene at the protagonist Jay Gatsby multi million dollar mansion. This illuminating, frenetic scene blows you away with this enormous, energetic, brightly colored, and lavish celebration. This party scene is really important to the film because it holds many significance to the overall themes and key messages. I don t like to punish him because I know that doesn t help, so instead I like to talk things through with him and spend as much time as I can. This same research by Prinzie et. al. (2010), states that it s actually not beneficial to not punish a child at all because they can grow to be very sensitive or emotional to any punishment by anyone(pg.1317). This might be a reason why Jack was reported by some teachers to get overwhelmed when something goes wrong in the class. Nevertheless, I insist on not punishing Jack because he has been a great child. In addition, Jack has been influenced by my partner and I because of our divorce when he was 6 years old. We knew that even though he was very little, he would probably not be too affected by it but when he grew older, it was the way in which we managed it that would affect him. According to Bigner Gerhardt in Parent child relations, an introduction to parenting, they state that in the family systems theory what happens to one, happens to the other. There is a series of steps in how a divorce unfolds in the family system but the last one, family redefinition is what the child can have difficulty transitioning to, since they will have to become a part of a binuclear family (2014, pg.252 253). A lot of the time, children and young people will resolve issues themselves without the intervention of an adult. The key is to observe and know when to step in. You need to remain neutral and allow each person to explain what happened in their own words and without being interrupted. Listening is vital in managing disagreements successfully and the volume/tone of voices should be kept to an acceptable level. Assertive discussion/negotiation is required from you to ensure both children are happy with the outcome. If a child becomes overwhelmed by emotions they may act in an inappropriate manner displaying rage or frustration. This is known as an emotional outburst. In this case a child should be removed from the situation and taken into a quiet and accepting environment where they have time to calm down. You should speak to the child in a reassuring manner and ask them to explain what has happened. If they are unable to do so then simply talk about what upset them suggesting what they could do in future if they experience similar feelings. Conflicts with adults are more complex as they could involve children, parents or staff. That said, many of the principles for managing these disagreements discussed above (for children/young people) still apply. No individual involved in a conflict should be discriminated against. This slight decline can be attributed to the decreased revenues and the increase in tax expenses. The Net Profit Margin in 2012 was 10.5% while in 2013 it was 66.6%. This increase in the Net Profit Margin can be attributed to the increase in net profits after taxes despite the fact that there was a slight decrease in revenues. During this period, the Return on Assets increased from 5.7% in 2012 to 34.6% in 2013. This implies the number of cents earned on each dollar of assets increased from 2012 to 2013. This shows that the business has become more profitable. Equally, the Return on Equity also increased from 12.0% in 2012 to 46.5% in 2013. This similarly implies that the company in 2013 was more efficient in generating income from new investment. This, also can be attributed to the sale of the Digital Business Brand which enabled the company appraise its strategic plan. The Earnings Per share in 2012 and 2013 were $2.90. Indeed, the distinctive writing style of the novel may make one feel reminded of a real conversation due to the many interruptions and digressions, which are typical of human face to face interaction and which occasionally make it more difficult for the reader to follow the storyline. Although literary researchers have already examined these particular visual elements, they have not done so in terms of their recipients. For my analysis, it is important to distinguish between the narratee, the implied reader, and the actual reader: According to Jahn, the narratee is the narrator s fictional addressee (cf. N1.5.); the implied reader, as already mentioned above, is a text s overall projection of a reader role, superordinate to any narratee (N2.3.2.), which means that he is e.g. able to understand the function of all visual elements in the novel and handles them perfectly; Which is, according to Iser, influenced by his former experience (cf. • 21. Ancient Greek Philosophers There has been much debate as to what change is, and is not. Ancient Greek Philosophers were not indifferent to this. The early Greek Philosophers tried to explain what our world is comprised of, whether it is monism (one true stuff, or reality), or pluralism (more than one reality, or stuff ). They then proceeded to try to elaborate and explain how change and motion occur. Heraclitus conclusion can be summed up in a quote of his: One cannot step into the same river twice. Parmenides and Zeno, unlike Heraclitus, came to the conclusion that the world was practically an unmovable brick; there is no change, there is no motion. Finally, Epicurus came to the conclusion that the world was formed from indivisible, and constantly colliding atoms. Heraclitus was a monist. His interpretation of the one and true reality was fire. This is not to be taken literally, because Heraclitus believed that the one could never be any material thing, but was found in the orderliness of change. He said fire was always changing yet somehow is always the same. He believed that everything is being changed constantly, and this is occurring through a state of flux. By having orderliness, it becomes possible for the human mind to comprehend the world, instead of it being entirely chaotic and based on the will of gods. Since the rate of change is constant, an appearance of permanence exists. Hence, one cannot step into the same river twice. (Jones 16) At first, it might appear as if you ... Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence (Nicomachean Ethics). When one thinks about happiness, these words said by Aristotle allow us to understand its significance. Through Aristotle s teachings, he made it clear that the point of life is to be happy. Aristotle uses the word happiness as having to do with a person s life as a whole, and not as the constant desire of wanting to experience pleasure (Aristotle s Ethics). People tend view happiness as an emotion that is not long lasting, while it is really about accumulating the good experienced an entire lifetime. To Aristotle, happiness is about flourishing, virtues, focusing on our well being, and self sufficiency. Aristotle is an ancient Greek philosopher who has played a part in subjects such as mathematics and ethics. As a known student of Plato, Aristotle s knowledge on various topics immensely affected people s philosophical views. For Aristotle, his definitions of human happiness and a good life consist of being virtuous all throughout life. Happiness comes from being an overall good person; this is the best way to lead a life and give it meaning (Psychology Today). According to Aristotle, happiness is a continuing achievement. Through three different methods, bacteria can obtain new genetic material: conjugation, transduction and transformation Transduction is when a bacteriophage inserts it s DNA into the host bacteria cell, while conjugation is when the bacteria shares DNA through direct contact, eg. horizontal gene transfer. The third method, transformation, is the intake of external DNA into the cell (Chen and Dubnau, 2004). In order for bacteria to be able to take in extraneous DNA, they must first be in a state of competent (Hanahan, 1983). There are two types of transformation cells in transformation: natural competence and artificial competence. Natural transformation can occur in both gram negative and gram positive bacteria, but have different pathways to take in the new DNA. There are several ways to induce competence onto some bacteria cells, that are not naturally competence. Cells can be treated to heat shock, starved of nutrients, the use of electroporation or keep in ionic solutions to induce competence by increasing the permeability of the membrane (Van der Rest et al., 1999). Plasmids are circular double stranded DNA found in bacteria that can encode for basic necessary functions (Couturier, et al., 1988). The left side of our brain is about analytical thoughts, whereas the right side of our brain is about creativity. The real world needs both sides of our brains to work, but schools are only training our left side and letting the right side deteriorate. School is killing creativity by the systems of mass education, the fear of being wrong in class, and cuts in creative classes. Horace Mann was someone who thought about critical thinking, used research to his benefit, and reflected on society which made him a leading proponent of intellectual and moral education in 1848. He noticed how intellectual education is the basis of what equalizes men and demonstrated how education holds the power to eliminate a lot of the negative aspects of society. There are different varieties that can be used to verify a document and ensure conformance to standards. Some use a tree hierarchy and others just simple constructs. Lee and Chu (2000) note the following in their paper; DTD, XSD, SOX, Schematron and DSD. Fawcett et al (2012) mention Schematron, DTD, RELAX NG, and XSD. I will discuss some of these in comparison to DTD and XSD which are follow ons from this week s Schema discussions. DTD This Schema type on uses attributes and elements and follows a hierarchy in structure type. It is very simplistic and uses few attribute definitions, and does not follow XML type syntax. However, despite its simplistic nature, it is the most widely used standard according to Lee and Chu (2000). XSD The true XML Schema Definition is very different from DTD in that it can be very granular in its descriptive elements and follows XML syntax rules. This can make it very powerful, in its support of namespaces and true data types, allowing for better conformity and use in data transformation and query. Another strength of XML Schema is it inheritance, which can simplify some reuse of attributes and combining of Schema documents. Its weakness goes hand in hand with its strength as the complexity it allows for causes confusion by all but the most advanced users according to Fawcett et al (2012). • 30. Improvements in Water Quality In Malawi the major sources of water for both domestic and industrial use include lakes, rivers and ground water. Ground water is dependable for supplying water in rural areas and also in some urban areas even though this source of water is most common in the rural areas. In some urban areas, the major source of water are rivers. According to Government of Malawi (2010), many river basins are under severe pressure resulting from deforestation, settlements, climate change, industry, mining, commerce and unsustainable agriculture. These have consequently impacted negatively on the water quality mainly due to sediment loads, industrial wastes, chemicals from agriculture and proliferation of aquatic vegetation. In urban areas, especially areas with high concentration of people, the major problem has been management of waste disposal. This has resulted in plastics that are just littered anyhow in the major urban areas including Blantyre ending up in rivers. Ground water though viewed as one of the safe sources of water, there are also a number of quality issues that are associated with it. According to Government of Malawi (2010), some of the issues include high concentrations of minerals such as fluoride, nitrates especially in agricultural areas, manganese and fecal matter in some areas. All in all, these issues make ground water quality to be degraded too. It is clear from above that improvements in water quality are no longer evitable. Failure to doing this ... The workplace has changed significantly over the last half century due to CIS. In today s business market, it is nearly impossible to open up 60 grocery stores in Toronto in less than 10 years. The reason being is that the grocery retail industry is now becoming or has become an Oligopoly. When one is walking through the streets of Canada looking at places to shop for groceries, one may stumble across several options of grocery stores to choose from. Often people question whether to buy their groceries either at No frills, Fortinos, Real supermarket or Loblaws. For many, the question is simply answered by choosing the store nearest to the comfort of their home. Over time, customers become loyal to the store for many different reasons, it often has to do with the experience offered at a certain chain and loyalty programs. Many of these loyal customers will not buy from other supermarkets unless they are away from home where their preferable store is not convenient. Not every Canadian customer is aware that Loblaw Companies Limited, the single largest Canadian food retailer owns many of the different supermarkets out there. This paper will prove that the Loblaw Companies Limited has is constantly trying new things in order to maintain and improve success and will also be outlining the history, organizational structure, target market, store design and the retail strategy of the company. ... I interpret the sudden change of subject from the first to second paragraph as a simile that the new topic of jen science will, too, alter the world in a way that will disable our ability to ever overlook this new realm of science. Jen science seems to be a mix of a concept outlined by Confucius and, in a more contemporary light, a field of research gaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I want to insert an excerpt from the chapter and attempt to understand its implications. The very emphasis of the commandment Thou shalt not kill makes it certain that we are descended from an endlessly long chain of generations of murderers, whose love of murder was in their blood as it is perhaps also in ours. Sigmund Freud For such an authority to exclaim such words has profound implications. Firstly Freud was a known atheist, and avidly so, therefore I believe he was employing sense of sarcasm that immediately relinquishes the potency of this quote. Also, not to object to Sigmund Freud, but to assume that a commandment makes certain our descent from murderers is simply untrue. Freud would have known this, he was a pretty switched on bloke, which is why I think this quote is taken out of context or perhaps he said it jokingly. Although it is an instruction to all peoples, it does not imply that all before the commandment have done so. Freud had a glum look on humanity, from my perspective he would not be an advocate of Jen science and is a good candidate to provoke a sense of imbalance in the contemporary culture toward us all focusing on the negative. The data is presented in such a way as to highlight correlations that support this Jen science. The graphs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. The Greatest Day Of My Life Everyone needs some form of escape from reality. While this varies from person to person, with the entertainment business booming, it is safe to infer that many find their comfort with movie theatres. Many of these people like to be engulfed by the story of their movie. My escape, however, comes from just being inside the theatre. There is something magical about theatres that keeps bringing me back. The first time I vividly remember going to the movies was when the second Harry Potter movie released. I finally watched the first movie on our brand new DVD player and read the four books that had been released. When the Saturday came to go to the Edwards in Irvine, I woke up extra early to make terrible pancakes for everybody (this is also a time when I wanted to be a chef). I begged my parents to take to me to the nearby 7 11 to buy all the candy that we were going to sneak in the theatre. I knew that this was going to be the greatest day of my life. While I know now my parents were reluctant to spend all that money, I know that today they would not change a thing. Going to the movies in the early 2000 s for my family meant more than just watching a movie. With my mother working two jobs and my father deploying every other year to different parts of the world as a Marine, these Saturdays were a very rare occasion. Not only do I get to watch a movie, I get to spend a whole day with my family hopping from movie to movie. There were no fights, no problems, and no worries. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I can only watch the neighbor kids from the window. Only wishing I could tell them what was coming. But I couldn t, I just sat there listening to the birds chirping. I d never be able to smell the grape vines fresh in the spring. Only in the woods did I feel at home. Or catch the golden leaves as they fell from the trees in fall. It was like the world was ending, but at the same time, not ending. So in my opinion, I had to suffer. Samantha Rose Jenkan! My mom hollered contempt. The girl, having no identified sicknesses or medical conditions, exhibited electrolyte imbalances along with minimal levels of potassium and calcium, which appeared to be a result of the diet according to doctors at the University of Missouri Health Science Center. High protein or ketogenic diets, those like the well known Atkins, are based solely on large consumptions of proteins and fats while they restrict carbohydrates to a nearly invisible amount. Although dieters are eating plenty of meat and getting their protein, possibly even an overload, they are receiving very little, if any, fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other nutrient rich foods, which are essential to a well balanced diet ( High Protein Diets ). A study conducted on Atkins meals reveals that, along with having too much protein and too little carbohydrates, they are unusually high in saturated fat and cholesterol while minimal in fiber. • 42. Feline Leukemia Research Paper Feline Leukemia (FeLV) was first discovered in the 1960 s. FeLV, is a virus transmitted by RNA, that only felines can get. It is not transmittable to humans, dogs, or any other animals. FeLV is actually the leading cause of death in cats, killing 85% of those infected within 3 years of diagnosis. With that being said, it s very important for cat owners to regularly take their cats to the veterinarian for check ups, as well as keeping them on a proper and healthy diet, which in turn will help prevent them from being exposed to FeLV, and many other viruses. Feline Leukemia is extremely common; it s spread through saliva, blood, nasal secretions and at times urine and feces. Once infected within 2 4 weeks an acute stage of the infection begins. It weakens the immune system, allowing all other viruses and diseases to be transmitted much easier including, kidney disease, lymph sarcoma, and even anemia. Once infected the cat becomes more susceptible to bacterial infections like FIP. Feline Leukemia is able to spread easily; because of this being groomed after an infected cat, fighting an infected cat, or any contact with a cat carrying the FeLV virus, may transmit the virus. ... For the purposes of this essay, the word describe will be defined as the active act of either explaining or representing an idea or concept within an area of knowledge. The word transform will be defined as having a great impact the world . Not to be confused with change , here, transforming considers a degree of innovation, whilst change highlights a minor shift. The word seek is key, and will represent the idea that within the Area of Knowledge, there can be the active intent to transform or describe. One event can be interpreted as both transforming and describing, due to the room for subjective judgement inherent in both of these two ideas. The concepts of description and transformation are abstract in nature. The idea that one event has the capability of both describing and transforming the world in different ways is evident in the area of knowledge of history.
