Aziz Ansrai s Modern Romance
Monogamy isn t realistic (Trainwreck) is a recurring theme in Aziz Ansrai s Modern Romance. The
argument being that with the ever growing dependence on technology in modern relationships/ dating
it is ridiculous to expect you and/or your partner to remain monogamous. Polygamy is not always
consensual in the case of affairs, which are made easier by technology. Ansari argues that The privacy
of the internet and phone world has also led to a rise of settings where people can be adulterous
without any judgment. (191). One of the main examples used in the book is the website Ashley
Madison; a dating website specifically designed for people looking to have an affair, their slogan
being Life is short. Have an affair (Ashley Madison).

Pros And Cons Of The PMRC
The PMRC is Parents Music Resource Center which was formed in 1985 by a couple of women who
are married to politicians in Washington DC. The goal of this committee is to place parental advisory
stickers on rock and heavy metal music that they deemed to promote rape, suicide, drugs, and teen
pregnancy.
In one sense, the PRMC does get the expected results. First, they had already listed 15 albums (the
Filthy 15 ) they wanted to be banned. Most of them were rock songs specifically hard rock or metal
songs. Second, the PMRC push for a rating system and it is similar to the one in place for movies.
They required that albums with violent and hateful messages must include Parental Advisory Sticker
on the front cover. Also, PRMC established a rating system for concerts, and printed lyrics on album
covers... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Labeling music with warning labels is not applied in today s society. First, violent and hateful lyrics in
music will continue to be prevalent and people will continue to purchase and enjoy such music,
despite the negative effects it has on young children. Take one example, in1996 Marilyn Manson
release Anti Christ Superstar album brings the topic of violent lyrics into the national spotlight. In the
same year, a 15 years old North Dakota boy suicide attributed to the music of Marilyn Manson, and
lyrics glorifying violence, bodily harm and suicide. Second, the parental advisory sticker has become a
relic in nowadays. Those stickers are beginning to encouraged sales among rebellious youth. Thirdly,
the advent of downloading and streaming services also led to the warning sticker s obsolescence
completely. Young people do not need to spend money on the albums. They can just go to online and
google it, then they can easily listen to the music and see the violent

A Rationale for teaching the Foundation Subjects within...
The underlying basis for the inclusion of foundation subjects within early years and primary education
might not be immediately apparent, particularly for first year students studying towards qualified
teacher status. This essay will, therefore, unfold the reasons for this inclusion whilst including specific
reference to the enclosure of history teaching. The National Curriculum (NC), introduced in 1988 and
currently undergoing revision, consists of the core subjects: English, mathematics and science;
compulsory at all key stages, and the foundation subjects: art, design technology (DT), geography,
history, information and communication technology (ICT), modern foreign languages (MFL), music,

Stories such as When Grandma Was Young (Humphrey, 2000), Elmer and Grandpa Eldo (Mckee,
2001) and My Granny is a Pirate (Mcdermid and Robins, 2012) can invoke interest with early years
children and inspire them to become inquisitive about the past. It has been suggested that time means
nothing to young children. However learning to ask and answer questions through story reading will
enhance their concept history. Therefore continuing to do so through the Early Learning Goals will
prepare children, entering at primary level, to appreciate the importance of history (Lunn and Bishop,
2004).
It is important to remember to children do not stop learning history when they finish their time at
primary school. Maintained secondary schools follow the NC which maintains that all children will
continue to learn history by means of the KS3 History Programmes of Study (2013). Therefore it is
important to prepare children for more challenging and precise history learning. New topics shall be
introduced so it is important children have the skills to identify significant events, make connections,
draw contrasts, and analyse trends (p.72). It is, furthermore, defined that pupils will pursue historically
valid enquiries including some they have framed themselves (p.72). This indicates towards children
becoming independent critical thinkers, a valuable quality to have in adult

Theories of Patriarchy Feminist Ideology
Assess the claim that gender inequalities in the domestic and occupational divisions of labour are best
understood with reference to the concept of patriarchy. You should illustrate your answer with
reference to a range of feminist perspectives.
Introduction
Western female thought through the centuries has identified the relationship between patriarchy and
gender as crucial to the women s subordinate position. For two hundred years, patriarchy precluded
women from having a legal or political identity and the legislation and attitudes supporting this
provided the model for slavery. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries suffrage campaigners
succeeded in securing some legal and political rights for women in the UK. By the middle of ... Show

The household has a different structure to other institutional forms, e.g., the workplace. This is an
important point because if feminist theories of patriarchy are to stand they must show that patriarchy
operates to the same end in both the private and public sphere, even if it uses different strategies,
otherwise it could not be the main reason for the continuing inequality of women in both the private
and public sphere.
Walby shows that within the private structure and the public structures, patriarchy does use different
strategies to maintain gender inequality and these strategies both achieve the subordination of women.
The household strategy is considered to be exclusionary and the public structures strategy as
segregationist.
The exclusionary strategy in the private arena is based on household production. Application of this
strategy in the domestic sphere depends on individual patriarchs controlling women in the private
world of the home. The male patriarch in the household is both the oppressor and recipient of women
s subordination. This strategy is direct – women are oppressed on a personal and individual basis by
the individual patriarchs who share their lives.
The segregationist strategy used in the public patriarchy actively excludes women from the public
arena using various structures to subordinate them. Application depends on controlling access to
public arenas (Golombok and Fivush, 1995). This strategy

Embassy in Tehran, President Carter threatened Iranian students in the U.S. with deportation. On
November 13th, 1979, President Carter ordered the deportation proceedings of Iranian Students who
were in the U.S. illegally. President Carter targeted the Iranian students in the U.S., specifically. This
was because the hostage takers at the embassy were students. All other Iranians in the United States,
including tourists, business travelers, other visitors, Iranian students who d immigrated, and all other
Green Card holders, were exempt (Flager Live, 2015). The Justice Department interviewed 50,437
students, 41,254 (or 82%) of whom were in compliance with their visas (Flager Live, 2015). K. does
not recall meeting with Immigration during this period. The Justice Department found that 6,042
students were deportable; only nine were deported. On April 7th, 1980, President Carter cut
diplomatic ties with Iran, imposed sanctions, froze Iranian assets, and ordered the issuance of visas to
Iranian nationals halted in most circumstances (Flager Live, 2015). Carter s order was to invalidate all
visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today, he said on April
7, 1980 (Flager Live, 2015). We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for

Canadian Geography
Canada has an extremley large geography which plays a tremendous role on many factors that affect
Canadians. These factors both help and hinder Canada economically, socially and politically. The
geography of Canada has also caused regions to form. For the most part, these regions exist due to
physical that are present in Canada s landscape. Canada s geography has also had a large impact on
the influences that affect settlers. Canada s relatively low popuation in comparison to the large land
mass make Canada a place where people who desire to settle in high population, urban areas or large,
isolated, and low trafficked areas. The high population of people near the Canadian American border
is also a unique feature of Canada, due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another population pocket influenced by Canada is the Cordillera of British Columbia. The urban
population is concentrated in one small area, the southwestern corner of British Columbia. This
population pocket is where 75% of the people in this province live. This region has climate unlike any
other part of Canada mild winters and mild summers. Another population cluster is The Great Lakes
St. Lawrence Lowlands region. Some of the most fertile soil found in Canada lies in the Holland
Marsh area. The Holland Marsh mostly lies within the valley of the Holland River. This 20 000 acre
area contains organic, fertile soil which is ideal for growing market crops for vegtables. Organic
matter consists of living plant tissues and organisms found in soil and organic matter improves the
physical condition of soil. This area had low lying, wetland terrain. Large amounts of resources in
many areas attract many people to this country. The Plains region which stretches down to the
Mexican border has many rich resources including large reserves of oil and natural gas that were
discovered mainly in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The coast of the Cordillera region, in Britsh
Columbia, contains many rich resources mainly a large amount of salmon coming from the North
Pacific Ocean, also many immense forests produce large amounts of lumber. The pockets of
population that exist across Canada has also caused regional

Humanitarian Intervention In Biafra
The history of humanitarian intervention was born in 1967 in West Africa. The Nigerian province of
Biafra was going through a civil war. The separatist biafran rebels were fighting against the Nigerian
federal army. The biafran rebels were fighting for a separate state while the other was fighting to keep
Nigeria as one. The violence lead to deaths of civilians and this inspired the doctors from aid
organizations to come and check on the people of Biafra. The army blocked the roads in the province,
and this lead to shortages of food and now the new killer was famine. The famine changed everything
as it attracted the world and the international community towards the biafran cause. Images of
malnourished kids and starving women captured the world and ... Show more content on

Throughout this mission the aid workers were seen as heroes, as the media back home glorified the aid
organizations and covered this mission extensively. The aid worker was the new world hero and
humanitarians were seen as the beacon of hope and a source of help. However, on the ground the
reality was different and complex as what was good and bad. Biafra began to focus on starving
children and women and hunger became a weapon for propaganda. They used famine as a tool to
collect money to fund their fighting against the army. This prolonged the war for 18 months. Biafran
leaders used the aid to smuggle in weapons, due to this no thought of compromise and all proposals to
stop the war were dismissed between the province and the government. Today people question what
has charities done with donation money in Haiti, as there has hardly been any progress in the country.
From the documentary Haiti: Where did the money go? aid organizations are directly being blamed by
the people for the lack of improvements in the country and asking where did all the donation go? The
above mentioned aspects are characteristics of intervention which we still see

The Religions Of Afro Brazilian Religions
Throughout this chapter there were eight major woman centered religions discussed. Afro Brazilian
Religions; which seems to incorporate elements of Amerindian religions, African tribal religions,
Catholicism, and Kardecism. Public rituals in which a female medium would be possessed by spirits
was a main feature of this religion. Black Carib Religion; This religion had some of the same main
features as Afro Brazilian religions such as communicating with spirits and instead of female mediums
contacting the spirits in this case the older women would be the spiritual leaders. A majority of Black
Caribs are Roman Catholics as well. The next religion discussed was the Burmese Nat Religion; they
have a lot of the same beliefs as the previous two religions. Most rituals were preformed by women
and almost all of the shamans are women. Burmese Nat Religions coexists with Buddhist Practices.
Christian Science was created by Mary Baker Eddy in the 1800s. They basically believe that self
healing happens after a balance of prayer and study. This religion in the most different so far. It doesn t
seem to have the same spiritual beliefs and rituals. Korean Household Religion is where Korean
women give up offerings for the well being of their homes to the gods. They also call upon female
shamans for advice. I ve noticed that so far, Women are expected to grow spiritually through
themselves and they rely on other women for guidance. I wonder why men and women can grow in
spirituality together?

Gang Violence And Its Effects
Gang Violence Its Effects
Eric R. Thomas
Tennessee Temple University
In this talk about Gang Violence Its Effects, attempts will be made to show how gang violence occurs.
It will also depict the effects it has on societies, and individuals. And the consequences gained both
metal, and practical. Gang violence is an ever ongoing, and prevalent issue within the United States,
and spreads through almost every ethnicity, and people.
Gang Violence
Gang violence is a very prevalent, and ongoing issue that is ever growing. According to the National

the youth surveyed had belonged to a gang at some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the teenage years there is a fight for identity, and belonging. Thus gangs will take advantage of this
desire, and need, because young people are highly impressionable. A common public perception is that
most youth are coerced into joining a gang (Howell, 2007). The opposite is indeed true. Most join of
their own volition. Gangs are often at the center of appealing social action parties, hanging out, music,
drugs, and opportunities to socialize with members of the opposite sex. The gang may be appealing
because it meets a youth s social needs. (Howell, 2007) Many young people willing join gangs
because of their protection, fun, respect, money, or because a friend was in the gang.
Many innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire of gang violence. Like terrorism, many civilians
homes, work places, and transportation, is up for grabs in aiding ongoing turf wars, and gang
retaliations. Many of the gang members obviously have varying perspectives and perceptions on
dealings with one another, over both serious, and more trivial situations.
From an order perspective, the situation is looked at from an objective point of view. To keep order,
each person s or group s perspectives, must be heard, from a point of equality, and fairness. When it
comes to conflict we have a problem. If gang members from the gang of a young man who got killed
learned that it was someone from the rival gang, the most immediate reaction is retribution. They will

Elias To South Preu Analysis
The adventures of Elias to south Preu provides an example of his trial to spread Christianity in that
area. While reading his journey account from the beginning, one may notice he uses many religious
excerpts for supporting his view of the Christianity. Thus, he sets out from Baghdad to visit to tomb of
Jesus in Jerusalem, moving and acting as a priest of Chaldean church who is blessed by the power of
Jesus I fortified myself in God and drew strength from his blessed mother, the virgin Mary (15). There
is no doubt that the religious and secular discourse was an evident factor that shaped such journey
from the beginning till the end. Analytically speaking, he uses many repetitions of words like silver,
gold during the places he visited. Moreover,

A Study On The Genome Wide Association Mapping Has Become...
Genome wide association mapping has become a popular way of quantitative trait locus (QTL)
identification for the majority of crop plants including wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Its advantage
over classical bi parental mapping methods relies on the size of linkage disequilibrium in the mapping
population. The objectives of this study are to determine linkage disequilibrium decay rate and
population structure in a winter wheat population of 276 accessions which has been genotyped with
the ILLUMINA infinium 90k chip and to identify markers associated with yield and its components,
morphological, phenological, and drought tolerance related traits.
Wheat is the world s third most important food crop next to maize and rice, (Green et al., 2012). It
accounts for one fifth of total production among major cereal crops and provides 55 % of the
carbohydrates consumed by humans around the world (Bagge et al., 2007). However, wheat
productivity is threatened by both biotic and abiotic stresses and its potential yield is rarely achieved.
Crop resistance to both biotic and abiotic stresses, including drought has been successfully improved
by plant breeding through phenotypic selection (Cooper et al., 2009). However, there is a large yield
gap between drought prone areas and ideal production regions for most crops, including wheat.
Drought tolerance is a complex quantitative trait controlled by multiple genes (Mir et al., 2012). It is
also complicated by the fact that

1950s Beach Date
The Good Old Days The image of the 1950s is usually characterized by clean cut, all American
families with not a worry in the world, but behind the scenes, the American people just got out of a
devastating war, and they must face the difficult challenges that came out of it. The 1950s Beach Date
photograph portrays a beach scene that focuses on a young couple spending their day together. With
its classic black and white color quality and vintage style atmosphere this photo would surely put the
older generation in a state of nostalgia. However, the photo s meaning is the real treasure here, and it
could go much farther than the wistful feelings it depicts. The 1950s represents the carefree, simpler
times of America, despite its recent history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This correlates with the importance of sharing these memories with each other. As mentioned above, it
is seen through their gestures and facial expressions that the main couple enjoy being with each other,
and they appreciate their time together. The people of the background also suggest they enjoy sharing
their day with someone else. Some hold hands like the young couple in the middle, showing a sign of
affection. Another pair places their arm on the other s shoulder, indicating a relationship of some kind.
One man actually seems to be helping his friend out as he stumble along the sandy path, implying that
he cares if his friend gets hurt. Others race down the sand dunes together, suggesting a fun filled
relationship. On the other hand, a man on the left of the photo is seen alone. He expresses a
melancholy look on his face suggesting he is lonely. With his dark, heavy clothing, the man seems out
of place and contrasts with the others of the photo. It is possible that he was captured in this shot to
prove that friendship was important and almost essential at this time. Despite the gloomy feeling of
the lonely man, it is the friendships that capture the untroubled nature of the 1950s and shows the fun
memories were shared with ones they cared

Sugar Cultivation During The Nineteenth Century Essay
In the British Caribbean during the seventeenth and eighteenth century, sugar cultivation came into
existence as the Europeans slowly moved away from the production of tobacco. This was done for two
main reasons; the first being, the Europeans saw how lucrative the production of the sugarcane crop
can be for them and secondly, it would have significantly reduced the cost of sweeteners for both men
and women of British descent. Honey, being the only substitution for sugar at the time, was considered
to be very expensive and as a result an alternative was needed. In order for this production system to
be fully adopted, the Europeans required a labour force that could endure the hardships associated
with toiling in the sugar plantation. This is where the enslaved Africans were introduced. To the
Europeans, Africans were considered to be much more effective because in their view they were seen
as having no soul. These Africans were taken from the West African coast primarily around the
Senegal River and Angola, (Campbell 1) placed upon slave ships and brought into the Caribbean to be
sold to different estate owners or managers. From then onwards, this was the introduction of slavery
and as such this essay would be based upon the book entitled Beyond Massa. This book was written
by John F. Campbell, a historian and current History lecturer at the University of the West Indies,
which is located at the St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad. In addition to, Mr. Campbell also received

The Realism Theory Of The War On Afghanistan
There are, however, aspects that disqualify the realism theory in examining the War in Afghanistan.
For example, realism explicitly applies to relations between nations and consequently, war between
countries. This was not the case, since the war did and still does not involve conflict between America
and Afghanistan. Rather the war was between America and the Taliban government that supported the
infamous terror group, al Qaeda. For this reason, realist theory does not explain this highly
controversial war. Another aspect that contravenes realism as an appropriate theoretical approach to
understanding the War in Afghanistan is that fact that, America toppled the Taliban government within
its first few months of the invasion. Realism cannot, as a result, explain why American troops and
those of allied forces have not yet been pulled out of Afghanistan more than a decade after war started
(Bird and Marshall 37).
Another principal attribute that disqualifies realism in debunking the Afghanistan War is the fact that
America made concerted efforts to gain support from the United Nations (UN) before commencing the
invasion. This contravenes the assertion put forth by the realist theory that, a nation does not take the
international system or organization into consideration when taking actions directed towards
safeguarding its survival. The autonomous action stipulated in realism is particularly essential when a
state is threatened and cannot afford to trust other nations. In

Similarities Between Jefferson Memorial And Pantheon
There are many similarities and differences between the Roman architecture and the Renaissance
architecture. The similarities between the Pantheon and St Peters Basilica are that they contain a
circular domed rotunda. They both contain Corinthian columns with a triangular pediment above.
They also both have a portico. Inside, both the building has several niches 9 . Both building have a
symmetrical layout. There have many architectural features that are very similar as Michelangelo, one
of the architects of St. Peters Basilica, studied the Pantheon before making designs 6 ; he based the St

The similarities in the architectural features are that they both have a spherical dome. They both have
steps leading up to the portico. Both buildings also have a pediment held up by the columns. Both the
structures are symmetrical and have 8 columns at the front. They have many similarities as the
Pantheon influenced Thomas Jefferson to make a similar structure, and because of the common dome
both the structures symbolized unity, and power. The difference is that the columns of the Pantheon
were Corinthian style columns in contrast to the Ionic style columns of the Jefferson Memorial. The
cella of the Jefferson memorial is open with columns as walls all around the rotunda. They were also
used for different purposes, the Pantheon is a temple and the Jefferson Memorial is a memorial.
However, just like how the dome represented the unity and symmetry of the Roman Empire, it also
symbolizes the democracy that has grown in America through unity.
There are many various features of Roman architecture that are evident in the Virginia State Capitol
Building and the Jefferson Memorial. Thomas Jefferson was influenced by both the Pantheon and
Maison Carree. Features like the symmetrical proportions of the buildings like the dome showed
continuity, this reflected on the glory of your society and the achievements they have accomplished, as
the imperial Rome was very successful. Most of the Roman structures also symbolized power as the
Roman valued this very much. America also values power so they may have been influenced by the

Classroom Philosophy Reflection Paper
Introduction Thinking about how education is taught in schools and all the different pedagogical
practices makes me wonder what these practices are actually fulfilling. There are many different ways
to approach a classroom environment. An individual can look at things from the student s perspective,
the teacher s perspectives, or just the way the classroom functions altogether. I reflect on when I was
in high school and, after learning in detail about all of these pedagogies, I can easily say that the
classrooms I was taught in were combinations of multiple pedagogies. I believe as someone becoming
a teacher we need to refine how the classroom should be run, and what the student and teacher s role
should be. I think we need to shift our focus to an open minded and open environment pedagogy. I
mean this in the sense that the environment should be an open place, a safe haven, the students can
speak their minds and beliefs freely. I myself too many times have been in a classroom where I have
felt restricted, bounded and unable to voice what I believe in because of the way the classroom was
run. Along with this, we need to be open minded in the sense of viewing things from multiple
perspectives and allowing the student to soar beyond the topic that is presented to them. I feel as
though too many teachers close the door to exploring and thinking out of the box in fear of what it
might bring and that I way I believe in an open classroom pedagogy.

According to the customer contact approach proposed by Chase and Tansik [1,6,7], customer contact
activities should be decoupled from non contact activities to do justice to their different design
requirements and maximize the efficiency of the service delivery system. Consequently, service
organizations consist of a front stage and a back stage. In the back office customer contact is passive
or nonexistent, service processes may be designed with manufacturing like principles in mind [6]. The
process may take advantage of standardization and automation to enhance the efficiency and
effectiveness of operations. While in the front stage customer contact is high and active, it brings
about unavoidable inefficiencies, and the human relation skills become a dominant factor in designing
the process [6]. Study [8] adds that moving some of the back stage functions from developed areas (or
even countries) to underdeveloped regions may increase greatly efficiency because of the reduction in
labor costs and taxation. 2.2.2 Decoupling for Speed, Quality and Sales Opportunities However, back

Hawaii Doesn t Dance Just Hula Essay
Hawaii Doesn t Dance Just Hula Hip Hop dancing is a revolutionary style that has spread throughout
America for over decades now. Going coast to coast and even over many oceans, especially the
Pacific Ocean in the state of Hawaii. The stereotype that all people in Hawaii are Hawaiians or that the
population lives in grass huts and doesn t know what a mall is, plagues the minds of mainlanders. So it
would be a big surprise knowing that these Hawaiians can be Hip Hop dancers too. The message was
shouted out to the whole nation when Hawaii s first Hip Hop dance crew Hype 5 0 competed on
America s Best Dance Crew season five showcasing their dance abilities against other dance crews
from around the country. Once this message was relayed, Hawaii was put on the Hip Hop map and
even more Hip Hop influence poured into the state with dance competitions being held, Hip Hop
artists increasingly having concerts, and having dancers from Hawaii travel out to the mainland
expressing their talents and not forgetting where they are from. The origins of Hip Hop dancing
occurred in the early 1960 s and comes from various cities within New York. Creating and
incorporating different styles within New York, they were able to construct a diverse culture of
dancing that would soon spread throughout the whole country. With dance styles such as uprock,
breaking, locking, roboting, boogaloo, and popping. Hip Hop dancing over the years improved with
these base dance styles to grow from. According

The Emotional Speech In The Queen Elizabeth I
Elizabeth I is talking directly to her English troops, nobody but her soldiers, her knights, trustable
men. Her defendants and warriors are there to listen and gain confidence for the battle to come.
As regards to the content of the document is, firstly, clearly a motivational speech to encourage her
soldiers to the battle against the Spanish Armada.
Apart from that, it is very important the way she chooses to do it, because she starts letting the soldiers
know that she is the one to trust and that she is willing to sacrifice herself for the country if necessary,
presenting herself as a Queen and a king. The Queen is aware of her delicate physical appearance as a
woman but she claims her power and courage and a real heritance with royal ... Show more content on

The authenticity of the speech is sometimes at doubt by some historians. But there are several
components within the speech mirror the real personality of the Queen herself, such as the strong
mention of God as an ally of England or the reference to her gender as well as her desire to rule as
both King and Queen of England.
In mi opinion, the speech given by the Queen Elizabeth reflects a great personality and strength as a
public speaker, something not easy to achieve. It is thinkable that the speech accomplished its mission
of motivation and that her forces were to the battle proudfull, given the powerful content of the same.
In the text, she gives herself the role of King and Queen at the same time. Elizabeth I was known as
the Virgin Queen for her refusal to marriage in all her life, which could proved, or at least is what I
think, a wish to keep her country safe from Crowns or Kings abroad, showing us an overprotective
queen who cared much for her people as we can see with her own visit to the troops, taking care of
them and trying to help motivating them for the

Alternative Healthcare Options For Alternative Medicine
Introduction
Alternative healthcare options also known as alternative medicine is any of various method of healing
or treating disease that is not included under traditional medical practice in the United States and
Britain (Webster dictionary). These alternatives include methods such as hypnosis, acupuncture,
aromatherapy, chiropractic therapy, spiritual or faith healing amongst others. Alternative medicine is

Milky Way Compare And Contrast
In about 4 billion years, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies will collide. The two neighbouring
galaxies are located in a collection of other galaxies acknowledged as the local group. This group
contains more than 50 galaxies, with a majority of them being dwarf galaxies. The largest and most
massive of galaxies are the Milky Way, Andromeda, and the Triangulum galaxy. All three of these
have a gathering of satellite galaxies surrounding them. Just like how planets orbit around the sun,
these smaller galaxies contain billions of stars and orbit around the galaxy s center. The satellite
galaxies orbit these larger galaxies due to the great gravitational attraction the larger galaxies emit.
The Milky Way galaxy has an assortment of approximately 30 satellite galaxies which include
Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy, Large Magellanic Cloud, and Small Magellanic Cloud, just to name a few.

of the Milky Way is approximately more than 400 solar masses. The center, Sagittarius A, is located
about 26 000 light years from Earth and contains a supermassive black hole. The other galaxy
involved in the future collision is the Andromeda galaxy, or M31. There are about 1 trillion stars and
could possibly contain more dark matter than the Milky Way. Its name comes from the constellation of
Andromeda, which originated from the mythological princes Andromeda. It is a spiral type galaxy

Essay on Scars of Sethe and Paul D in Toni Morrison s...
The Scars of Sethe and Paul D in Beloved
Scars are undoubtably an incredible means of storytelling in Beloved. No matter how a person
changes or what happens to them, these marks are another bit of tangible history, following each of
them wherever they may go. These physical characteristics are what one can believe in, more than
what is said or written. When written and oral language can many times not be trusted, physical
characteristics provide another more certain form of communication one that cannot be biased or
altered.
People not only know the identity of someone by knowing their scars, but each scar tells a story of
what a person has gone through. Sethe s back and the scars caused by her beating are important in the

To Paul D, the biggest violation is that they beat Sethe while she was pregnant. However, through
physical contact he is able to learn her story and further understand what she has been through. ...he
held his breasts in the palms of his hands. He rubbed his cheek on her back and learned that way her
sorrow, the roots of it; its wide truck and intricate branches. Paul D found a way to learn what she had
been through, and feel what she has felt, by physical connection with parts of her which had been
damaged, and more specifically, her scars. In this way, scars fulfill not only a storytelling role, but
serve also as a means of connection. In the passion of the moment, Paul D sees her scars as a beautiful
part of Sethe s person, on page 20 he refers to her scars as a wrought iron maze which he wants to
explore and to know. He saw the sculpture her back had become, like the decorative work of an
ironsmith too passionate for display. Paul D has no real words to express his emotions at that time
except for Aw, Lord, girl , but on page 18 he shows his desire to heal Sethe and make things better in
another way. He would have no peace until he had touched every ridge and leaf of it with his mouth,
none of which Sethe could feel because her back skin had been dead for years. What she knew was
that the responsibility for her breasts, at last, was in someone else s hands. Again, the true
communication and interpersonal connection

Atticus Coming Of Age Essay
In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird Scout is an example of a character whose coming of age
process involves gaining a different perspective. In To Kill a Mockingbird Scout states to herself
Atticus was right. One time he said you never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk
around in them. Just standing on the Radley porch was enough (Lee 374). At the beginning of To Kill
a Mockingbird, Atticus teaches Jem and Scout about stepping in others shoes. Scout does not fully
understand what Atticus had meant when he said that until the very end of To Kill a Mockingbird.
When she stands on Boo Radley s front porch and sees everything from the view of the window that
Boo has been looking out of throughout the entire novel she finally realizes what Atticus had meant all
of those years. She then finally fully understands what it means to truly stand in someone else s shoes.
After she has this realization she feels much older and wiser because she has gained a new perspective
that most of Maycomb County has not acquired. She has gained the perspective of understanding, and
having the ability to see things through others perspectives. A large part of Scout s coming of age
process occurs when she sees things from Boo s perspective. Another moment of that shows Scout
coming of age happens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

article Beautiful Brains , he shows and explains how gaining new perspectives is a part of coming of
age. Developing different perspectives is really what coming of age is all about. It causes an individual
to see the world in a new light, which widens their knowledge and helps them to fully come of age and

What Are The Similarities Between Baroque And Baroque Eras
Introduction
European design has evolved over the centuries from the Renaissance era of the 15th century to
Baroque era of the 16th century right through to the Rococo era of the late 1700 s. Even though the
style might have changed, some elements can be traced across all three periods.
This essay will explore the similarities and differences in the aforementioned eras by singling out 4
different examples from these eras and how these influenced or affected the society and patrons who
commissioned these artworks at that time.
Emphasis will be placed on specific examples that best demonstrate the style of each era. The image
examples used in this essay are firstly the ceiling of the Sistine chapel and the bronze David by
Donatello. Both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the peak of the Renaissance era of 1600 Rome, there was a move towards a style that was more
dramatic and celebrated the church and the elite. This style melodramatically reaffirmed the emotional
depths of the catholic faith and glorified both the church and monarch (History of Art, 1933:284).
Baroque is distinguished by the grander sense of space in architecture, intense emotion and movement
in painting and sculpture. Opulence and grandeur is often displayed in the ostentatious interiors homes
of the elite and the church was highly decorated.
Some similarities between Baroque and Renaissance eras, is the strong use of light and shade to create
depth and realism.
The word Baroque derives from the Portuguese word barocco which seems to imply an irregularly
shaped or imperfect pearl. Which is quite ironic since Baroque design was anything but imperfect.
Rococo
The style of the Rococo period can be characterised as being playful and asymmetrical as opposed to
that of Baroque. Though there are similarities between the two stylistic periods, Rococo design is
more ornate and motifs usually resemble shells and stones and the intricate designs are often gilded
with gold and other precious metals. The colour palette is muted and emphasis is placed on the design
rather than the

Suicide, some people have violent reactions to the medications and do not die.

The Legal Validity Of The Federal Government
Betty Blackacre is in contract with Donald Developer to sell a tract of land to him for the development
of an industrial park. Several distinct issues have arisen concerning an EPA regulation, the Virginia fee
structure for waste facilities, and the jurisdiction of the suit brought in NY by Donald Developer. We
turn to question the legal validity of the EPA order, the constitutionality of the waste disposal fee
structure under the commerce clause, and the grounds for which Betty s motion to dismiss the case for
lack of jurisdiction stand. Betty does not believe that the federal government should be able to tell her
what she can and cannot do with her property. Since the property has been identified as a major
migratory route for at least one endangered bird species, the EPA has the authority to regulate the use
of her land under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Under the order, if Donald were to use the land
as intended, it would significantly alter the property and the surrounding area. Such alteration of the
property can be defined under section 10 of the ESA, where taking also includes significant habitat
modification or degradation that actually kills or injures an endangered species by impairing its
breeding, feeding or ability to find shelter (Yarrow, 2009). The EPA has long overstepped its grounds,
so much that there is not much hope for reversal. Additionally, for Betty Blackacre, there are certain
provisions in the ESA that state that there need be no

Like having a little faith Jesus Christ can make your faith grow. In order for Jesus Christ to use us we
need to submit fully to Him. We must study the word of God, so we know how to be obedient to Him,
furthermore the word teaches us what God expects from us. When we submit totally to Jesus Christ
He gives us strength to bare our cross, also when we submit to God He gives us strength to do His
work. Hebrews 13:21 says God will, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in

Farewell Papaji begins with Hasmukh trying to have sex with his wife at 12:30 in the morning because
his father in law is sleeping. However, as he tries to wake up his wife, their dog, Bobby, bites him.
Hasmukh falls to the floor and his father in law rushes into Hasmukh s bedroom and asks what
happened. But he is more worried about the dog than his son in law: This house is causing [Bobby] a

which the dog gets more respect than him. After the mini introduction the episode airs the title

sounds can be described as Indian beats. Once all the members are introduced, the final part of the title

Compare And Contrast Beneatha And Walter
A Raisin in the Sun, which is a play written by Lorraine Hansberry, causes a variety of emotions felt
toward the Younger family. Two characters who live this out most within the play are Beneatha and
Walter Lee, siblings living with their mother. Beneatha is in her early twenties, while Walter is more in
his mid thirties. They differentiate greatly in multiple ways, which causes different emotions
associated with them. Beneatha is more closely linked with hope and lacks any sympathy felt towards
her. Walter, on the other hand, is in a situation where the reader is more likely to feel pity for him.

In Beneatha s situation, she has the freedom to choose her husband, and make the decision that best
fits her. She can decide between George, who can provide for her all of the material objects that she
could want, and Joseph, who treats her as an equal to him and cares for her very much. In Walter s
case, he is stuck in an imperfect relationship with his wife Ruth, and he cannot divorce her because
they have a twelve year old son to care for and a baby on the way. This faulty relationship is best
shown in the first scene when Walter casually says to his wife, But you wouldn t do nothing to help,
would you? You couldn t be on my side that long for nothing, could you? (Hansberry 32) This
morning conversation between the two is an average, typical talk, which shows that the relationship is
certainly in decline. Even during the middle of the play, when they go to the movies and hold hands,
this love does not even last until the end of the play. Walter s relationship with his wife brings a
feeling of sympathy upon him because he cannot avoid it and that he is past the ideal age for finding a
partner. Beneatha, on the other hand, brings no pity because she can decide for herself who she wants
her husband to be, and she is young and has time if she is not ready to get married

Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages in South Africa and Zimbabwe
Introduction
Comparative politics is concerned with examining the characteristics or qualities of two different
political entities to discover resemblances or differences. These entities can be general in nature, for
example, the comparison of two countries, or more specific in nature, comparing two different
systems of government. But, whether general or specific in nature, comparative politics tries to
determine what caused the governments to form in the way that they did.
One way to do this is to look for the cleavages that affected each of the countries in question. A
cleavage is a split that occurs within a culture and can cause conflict ... Show more content on

This brief discussion will cover such areas as land reform and the impact of political decision making
on landowners and non landowners in a historically agrarian and ranked society and on race,
substandard housing, unemployment, and unequal allocation of funding for public health.
Land Reform
Historically, land reform programs in South Africa and Zimbabwe has been similar in some respects.
It is necessary to briefly review the history of each country in respect to this cleavage to better
understand current discontinuities and to note the clear differences in contemporary land reform that
are being implemented in the two countries.
Both South Africa and Zimbabwe were British colonies. All the land in these colonies was owned by
white Europeans and farmed by poor black Africans. In 1980, Rhodesia broke from the bondage of
white rule and elected its first black president, Robert Mugabe, who came with promises of restoration
of the land to native Africans, and of better health care and educational opportunities. The now
independent Rhodesia was renamed Zimbabwe in 1980.
But during the 1980 s, drought and white emigration badly damaged the economy, which already
strained by the need for massive government spending in the long neglected areas of black education,
health, and social services. The cleavages over land distribution, which continue today, present an
ongoing challenge to the government and an obstacle to agricultural development and will be

The argument being that with the ever growing dependence on technology in modern relationships/ dating it is ridiculous to expect you and/or your partner to remain monogamous. Polygamy is not always consensual in the case of affairs, which are made easier by technology. The goal of this committee is to place parental advisory stickers on rock and heavy metal music that they deemed to promote rape, suicide, drugs, and teen pregnancy. In one sense, the PRMC does get the expected results. First, they had already listed 15 albums (the Filthy 15 ) they wanted to be banned. Most of them were rock songs specifically hard rock or metal songs. Second, the PMRC push for a rating system and it is similar to the one in place for movies. They required that albums with violent and hateful messages must include Parental Advisory Sticker on the front cover. The underlying basis for the inclusion of foundation subjects within early years and primary education might not be immediately apparent, particularly for first year students studying towards qualified teacher status. This essay will, therefore, unfold the reasons for this inclusion whilst including specific reference to the enclosure of history teaching. The National Curriculum (NC), introduced in 1988 and currently undergoing revision, consists of the core subjects: English, mathematics and science; compulsory at all key stages, and the foundation subjects: art, design technology (DT), geography, history, information and communication technology (ICT), modern foreign languages (MFL), music, personal, social and health education (PSHE) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stories such as When Grandma Was Young (Humphrey, 2000), Elmer and Grandpa Eldo (Mckee, 2001) and My Granny is a Pirate (Mcdermid and Robins, 2012) can invoke interest with early years children and inspire them to become inquisitive about the past. It has been suggested that time means nothing to young children. However learning to ask and answer questions through story reading will enhance their concept history. Therefore continuing to do so through the Early Learning Goals will prepare children, entering at primary level, to appreciate the importance of history (Lunn and Bishop, 2004). It is important to remember to children do not stop learning history when they finish their time at primary school. Maintained secondary schools follow the NC which maintains that all children will continue to learn history by means of the KS3 History Programmes of Study (2013). Therefore it is important to prepare children for more challenging and precise history learning. New topics shall be introduced so it is important children have the skills to identify significant events, make connections, draw contrasts, and analyse trends (p.72). It is, furthermore, defined that pupils will pursue historically valid enquiries including some they have framed themselves (p.72). This indicates towards children becoming independent critical thinkers, a valuable quality to have in adult ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Theories of Patriarchy Feminist Ideology Assess the claim that gender inequalities in the domestic and occupational divisions of labour are best understood with reference to the concept of patriarchy. You should illustrate your answer with reference to a range of feminist perspectives. Introduction Western female thought through the centuries has identified the relationship between patriarchy and gender as crucial to the women s subordinate position. For two hundred years, patriarchy precluded women from having a legal or political identity and the legislation and attitudes supporting this provided the model for slavery. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries suffrage campaigners succeeded in securing some legal and political rights for women in the UK. By the middle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The household has a different structure to other institutional forms, e.g., the workplace. This is an important point because if feminist theories of patriarchy are to stand they must show that patriarchy operates to the same end in both the private and public sphere, even if it uses different strategies, otherwise it could not be the main reason for the continuing inequality of women in both the private and public sphere. Walby shows that within the private structure and the public structures, patriarchy does use different strategies to maintain gender inequality and these strategies both achieve the subordination of women. The household strategy is considered to be exclusionary and the public structures strategy as segregationist. The exclusionary strategy in the private arena is based on household production. Application of this strategy in the domestic sphere depends on individual patriarchs controlling women in the private world of the home. The male patriarch in the household is both the oppressor and recipient of women s subordination. This strategy is direct – women are oppressed on a personal and individual basis by the individual patriarchs who share their lives. The segregationist strategy used in the public patriarchy actively excludes women from the public arena using various structures to subordinate them. Application depends on controlling access to public arenas (Golombok and Fivush, 1995). This strategy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The separatist biafran rebels were fighting against the Nigerian federal army. The biafran rebels were fighting for a separate state while the other was fighting to keep Nigeria as one. The violence lead to deaths of civilians and this inspired the doctors from aid organizations to come and check on the people of Biafra. The army blocked the roads in the province, and this lead to shortages of food and now the new killer was famine. The aid worker was the new world hero and humanitarians were seen as the beacon of hope and a source of help. However, on the ground the reality was different and complex as what was good and bad. Biafra began to focus on starving children and women and hunger became a weapon for propaganda. They used famine as a tool to collect money to fund their fighting against the army. This prolonged the war for 18 months. Biafran leaders used the aid to smuggle in weapons, due to this no thought of compromise and all proposals to stop the war were dismissed between the province and the government. Today people question what has charities done with donation money in Haiti, as there has hardly been any progress in the country. • 11. The Religions Of Afro Brazilian Religions Throughout this chapter there were eight major woman centered religions discussed. Afro Brazilian Religions; which seems to incorporate elements of Amerindian religions, African tribal religions, Catholicism, and Kardecism. Public rituals in which a female medium would be possessed by spirits was a main feature of this religion. Black Carib Religion; This religion had some of the same main features as Afro Brazilian religions such as communicating with spirits and instead of female mediums contacting the spirits in this case the older women would be the spiritual leaders. A majority of Black Caribs are Roman Catholics as well. The next religion discussed was the Burmese Nat Religion; they have a lot of the same beliefs as the previous two religions. Most rituals were preformed by women and almost all of the shamans are women. Burmese Nat Religions coexists with Buddhist Practices. Christian Science was created by Mary Baker Eddy in the 1800s. They basically believe that self healing happens after a balance of prayer and study. This religion in the most different so far. It doesn t seem to have the same spiritual beliefs and rituals. Korean Household Religion is where Korean women give up offerings for the well being of their homes to the gods. They also call upon female shamans for advice. Thus gangs will take advantage of this desire, and need, because young people are highly impressionable. A common public perception is that most youth are coerced into joining a gang (Howell, 2007). The opposite is indeed true. Most join of their own volition. Gangs are often at the center of appealing social action parties, hanging out, music, drugs, and opportunities to socialize with members of the opposite sex. The gang may be appealing because it meets a youth s social needs. Genome wide association mapping has become a popular way of quantitative trait locus (QTL) identification for the majority of crop plants including wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Its advantage over classical bi parental mapping methods relies on the size of linkage disequilibrium in the mapping population. The objectives of this study are to determine linkage disequilibrium decay rate and population structure in a winter wheat population of 276 accessions which has been genotyped with the ILLUMINA infinium 90k chip and to identify markers associated with yield and its components, morphological, phenological, and drought tolerance related traits. Wheat is the world s third most important food crop next to maize and rice, (Green et al., 2012). It accounts for one fifth of total production among major cereal crops and provides 55 % of the carbohydrates consumed by humans around the world (Bagge et al., 2007). However, wheat productivity is threatened by both biotic and abiotic stresses and its potential yield is rarely achieved. Crop resistance to both biotic and abiotic stresses, including drought has been successfully improved by plant breeding through phenotypic selection (Cooper et al., 2009). However, there is a large yield gap between drought prone areas and ideal production regions for most crops, including wheat. Drought tolerance is a complex quantitative trait controlled by multiple genes (Mir et al., 2012). It is also complicated by the fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. 1950s Beach Date The Good Old Days The image of the 1950s is usually characterized by clean cut, all American families with not a worry in the world, but behind the scenes, the American people just got out of a devastating war, and they must face the difficult challenges that came out of it. The 1950s Beach Date photograph portrays a beach scene that focuses on a young couple spending their day together. With its classic black and white color quality and vintage style atmosphere this photo would surely put the older generation in a state of nostalgia. However, the photo s meaning is the real treasure here, and it could go much farther than the wistful feelings it depicts. The 1950s represents the carefree, simpler times of America, despite its recent history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This correlates with the importance of sharing these memories with each other. As mentioned above, it is seen through their gestures and facial expressions that the main couple enjoy being with each other, and they appreciate their time together. The people of the background also suggest they enjoy sharing their day with someone else. Some hold hands like the young couple in the middle, showing a sign of affection. Another pair places their arm on the other s shoulder, indicating a relationship of some kind. One man actually seems to be helping his friend out as he stumble along the sandy path, implying that he cares if his friend gets hurt. Others race down the sand dunes together, suggesting a fun filled relationship. On the other hand, a man on the left of the photo is seen alone. He expresses a melancholy look on his face suggesting he is lonely. With his dark, heavy clothing, the man seems out of place and contrasts with the others of the photo. It is possible that he was captured in this shot to prove that friendship was important and almost essential at this time. • 16. Sugar Cultivation During The Nineteenth Century Essay In the British Caribbean during the seventeenth and eighteenth century, sugar cultivation came into existence as the Europeans slowly moved away from the production of tobacco. This was done for two main reasons; the first being, the Europeans saw how lucrative the production of the sugarcane crop can be for them and secondly, it would have significantly reduced the cost of sweeteners for both men and women of British descent. Honey, being the only substitution for sugar at the time, was considered to be very expensive and as a result an alternative was needed. In order for this production system to be fully adopted, the Europeans required a labour force that could endure the hardships associated with toiling in the sugar plantation. This is where the enslaved Africans were introduced. To the Europeans, Africans were considered to be much more effective because in their view they were seen as having no soul. These Africans were taken from the West African coast primarily around the Senegal River and Angola, (Campbell 1) placed upon slave ships and brought into the Caribbean to be sold to different estate owners or managers. From then onwards, this was the introduction of slavery and as such this essay would be based upon the book entitled Beyond Massa. This book was written by John F. Campbell, a historian and current History lecturer at the University of the West Indies, which is located at the St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad. In addition to, Mr. Campbell also received ... • 17. The Realism Theory Of The War On Afghanistan There are, however, aspects that disqualify the realism theory in examining the War in Afghanistan. For example, realism explicitly applies to relations between nations and consequently, war between countries. This was not the case, since the war did and still does not involve conflict between America and Afghanistan. Rather the war was between America and the Taliban government that supported the infamous terror group, al Qaeda. For this reason, realist theory does not explain this highly controversial war. Another aspect that contravenes realism as an appropriate theoretical approach to understanding the War in Afghanistan is that fact that, America toppled the Taliban government within its first few months of the invasion. Realism cannot, as a result, explain why American troops and those of allied forces have not yet been pulled out of Afghanistan more than a decade after war started (Bird and Marshall 37). Another principal attribute that disqualifies realism in debunking the Afghanistan War is the fact that America made concerted efforts to gain support from the United Nations (UN) before commencing the invasion. This contravenes the assertion put forth by the realist theory that, a nation does not take the international system or organization into consideration when taking actions directed towards safeguarding its survival. The autonomous action stipulated in realism is particularly essential when a state is threatened and cannot afford to trust other nations. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Classroom Philosophy Reflection Paper Introduction Thinking about how education is taught in schools and all the different pedagogical practices makes me wonder what these practices are actually fulfilling. There are many different ways to approach a classroom environment. An individual can look at things from the student s perspective, the teacher s perspectives, or just the way the classroom functions altogether. I reflect on when I was in high school and, after learning in detail about all of these pedagogies, I can easily say that the classrooms I was taught in were combinations of multiple pedagogies. I believe as someone becoming a teacher we need to refine how the classroom should be run, and what the student and teacher s role should be. I think we need to shift our focus to an open minded and open environment pedagogy. I mean this in the sense that the environment should be an open place, a safe haven, the students can speak their minds and beliefs freely. I myself too many times have been in a classroom where I have felt restricted, bounded and unable to voice what I believe in because of the way the classroom was run. Along with this, we need to be open minded in the sense of viewing things from multiple perspectives and allowing the student to soar beyond the topic that is presented to them. I feel as though too many teachers close the door to exploring and thinking out of the box in fear of what it might bring and that I way I believe in an open classroom pedagogy. In the back office customer contact is passive or nonexistent, service processes may be designed with manufacturing like principles in mind [6]. The process may take advantage of standardization and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. While in the front stage customer contact is high and active, it brings about unavoidable inefficiencies, and the human relation skills become a dominant factor in designing the process [6]. Going coast to coast and even over many oceans, especially the Pacific Ocean in the state of Hawaii. The stereotype that all people in Hawaii are Hawaiians or that the population lives in grass huts and doesn t know what a mall is, plagues the minds of mainlanders. So it would be a big surprise knowing that these Hawaiians can be Hip Hop dancers too. The message was shouted out to the whole nation when Hawaii s first Hip Hop dance crew Hype 5 0 competed on America s Best Dance Crew season five showcasing their dance abilities against other dance crews from around the country. Once this message was relayed, Hawaii was put on the Hip Hop map and even more Hip Hop influence poured into the state with dance competitions being held, Hip Hop artists increasingly having concerts, and having dancers from Hawaii travel out to the mainland expressing their talents and not forgetting where they are from. The origins of Hip Hop dancing occurred in the early 1960 s and comes from various cities within New York. Creating and incorporating different styles within New York, they were able to construct a diverse culture of dancing that would soon spread throughout the whole country. With dance styles such as uprock, breaking, locking, roboting, boogaloo, and popping. Hip Hop dancing over the years improved with these base dance styles to grow from. According ... In mi opinion, the speech given by the Queen Elizabeth reflects a great personality and strength as a public speaker, something not easy to achieve. It is thinkable that the speech accomplished its mission of motivation and that her forces were to the battle proudfull, given the powerful content of the same. Several distinct issues have arisen concerning an EPA regulation, the Virginia fee structure for waste facilities, and the jurisdiction of the suit brought in NY by Donald Developer. We turn to question the legal validity of the EPA order, the constitutionality of the waste disposal fee structure under the commerce clause, and the grounds for which Betty s motion to dismiss the case for lack of jurisdiction stand. Betty does not believe that the federal government should be able to tell her what she can and cannot do with her property. Since the property has been identified as a major migratory route for at least one endangered bird species, the EPA has the authority to regulate the use of her land under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Under the order, if Donald were to use the land as intended, it would significantly alter the property and the surrounding area. Such alteration of the property can be defined under section 10 of the ESA, where taking also includes significant habitat modification or degradation that actually kills or injures an endangered species by impairing its breeding, feeding or ability to find shelter (Yarrow, 2009). • 34. Compare And Contrast Beneatha And Walter A Raisin in the Sun, which is a play written by Lorraine Hansberry, causes a variety of emotions felt toward the Younger family. Two characters who live this out most within the play are Beneatha and Walter Lee, siblings living with their mother. Beneatha is in her early twenties, while Walter is more in his mid thirties. They differentiate greatly in multiple ways, which causes different emotions associated with them. Beneatha is more closely linked with hope and lacks any sympathy felt towards her. Walter, on the other hand, is in a situation where the reader is more likely to feel pity for him. Through their current relationships, their current occupations, and their aspirations, Beneatha and Walter differentiate in the emotions that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Beneatha s situation, she has the freedom to choose her husband, and make the decision that best fits her. She can decide between George, who can provide for her all of the material objects that she could want, and Joseph, who treats her as an equal to him and cares for her very much. In Walter s case, he is stuck in an imperfect relationship with his wife Ruth, and he cannot divorce her because they have a twelve year old son to care for and a baby on the way. This faulty relationship is best shown in the first scene when Walter casually says to his wife, But you wouldn t do nothing to help, would you? You couldn t be on my side that long for nothing, could you? (Hansberry 32) This morning conversation between the two is an average, typical talk, which shows that the relationship is certainly in decline. Even during the middle of the play, when they go to the movies and hold hands, this love does not even last until the end of the play. Walter s relationship with his wife brings a feeling of sympathy upon him because he cannot avoid it and that he is past the ideal age for finding a partner. Beneatha, on the other hand, brings no pity because she can decide for herself who she wants her husband to be, and she is young and has time if she is not ready to get married ... • 35. Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages... Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages in South Africa and Zimbabwe Introduction Comparative politics is concerned with examining the characteristics or qualities of two different political entities to discover resemblances or differences. These entities can be general in nature, for example, the comparison of two countries, or more specific in nature, comparing two different systems of government. But, whether general or specific in nature, comparative politics tries to determine what caused the governments to form in the way that they did. One way to do this is to look for the cleavages that affected each of the countries in question. A cleavage is a split that occurs within a culture and can cause conflict ... This brief discussion will cover such areas as land reform and the impact of political decision making on landowners and non landowners in a historically agrarian and ranked society and on race, substandard housing, unemployment, and unequal allocation of funding for public health. Land Reform Historically, land reform programs in South Africa and Zimbabwe has been similar in some respects. It is necessary to briefly review the history of each country in respect to this cleavage to better understand current discontinuities and to note the clear differences in contemporary land reform that are being implemented in the two countries. Both South Africa and Zimbabwe were British colonies. All the land in these colonies was owned by white Europeans and farmed by poor black Africans. In 1980, Rhodesia broke from the bondage of white rule and elected its first black president, Robert Mugabe, who came with promises of restoration of the land to native Africans, and of better health care and educational opportunities. The now independent Rhodesia was renamed Zimbabwe in 1980. But during the 1980 s, drought and white emigration badly damaged the economy, which already strained by the need for massive government spending in the long neglected areas of black education, health, and social services. The cleavages over land distribution, which continue today, present an ongoing challenge to the government and an obstacle to agricultural development and will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Mkt 421 Week 2 Written Assignment However, as much as the interview section is familiar to me, editing the interview to be released on the newspaper according to the newspaper s terms as well as the editor s instructions were not simple. No one can share neither a headline on their website nor can publish a story on the local newspaper without the editor s confirmation. During the process of editing the story, Yasemin who is the editor of the London Turkish Gazette gave me tips on how to approach writing the story, what type of key terms and structure to include. In my opinion, Yasemin s advice were incredibly useful and I had to see how challenging her role is when she is paying attention to details, grammar, accurateness of the stories, and having a counterbalanced story at the paper. According to Yasemin: Any mistakes at the paper will potentially put the success of the Gazette and Hey Print into trouble, and the consequences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the new learnings I achieved is to be able to use the word press based computer system, which the newspapers use to blog their headlines and websites. Also, in my opinion, it was thrilling to observe the stages Gazette go through to end up with a finalized product. At the end of all, the team compare other weekly local newspapers which London Turkish Gazette competes with. The knowledge I picked up was not limited to just editing, but also learnt how the pricing lists for each column provided to writers and to advertisement owners work, and moreover when comparing Avrupa Gazette and Olay Gazette to Turkish Gazette, style and content of the papers were completely different; London Turkish Gazette consisted of more pages as one side of the paper is English and the other side is written in Turkish in order to reach more readers, which I find it to be an effective strategy to develop the quality of the ...
