As a child, vacations were few and far between. Having three other siblings and a single parent,
trips rarely fit into the budget. As I got older, military service and my professional career allowed

excited about being in Alaska, on the Yukon River, and with my brother, I did not mind releasing

Language is important to the way we communicate. Semantic memory is acquired over the years
and is vital to language. Language becomes second nature when we already know what, when and
how to say something. We form sentences, phrases, paragraphs by planning what we say and how
we will say it. Most people believe that when we speak, it is without thought and is done

Pinker (1994c) esteems language as the jewel in the crown of cognition. Language serves the

have learned what the Sandwich Generation is and how to assist individuals in this generation. The
Sandwich Generation was originally used to describe baby boomers that were women in their
30s and 40s who cared for their parents and their own children. This term was coined by Dorothy
Miller. As time passed, the term changed to include both male and females and the age range is
now 40 to 65 years old. Almost 50% of adults 40 50 years old care for a parent and child. Caring
for a parent and child can stress a caregiver. Adding a chronic disease to either parent or child can
put additional stress on the caregiver. To help relieve some of this stress a caregiver will seek
outside help, such as hospitalization, which in reality can do more harm than good for the

Chemical reactions occur very often in people s everyday lives. There are six main types of reaction.
These include decomposition reactions, synthesis reactions, single displacement reactions, double
displacement reactions, combustion reactions, and nuclear reactions. Both single and double
displacement reactions can be broken down into more specific reactions. Single displacement
reactions can be classified as metal displacement, which is cation; and halogen displacement, which
is anion. Double displacement reactions will break into three different situations: formation of a
gas, formation of a solid (precipitate), and neutralization.
The lab is focused on the observation of double displacement reactions, as opposed to the other five
types. Double displacement reaction consists of two compounds, both with anions and cations,
reacting with each other. During the reaction, the positive cations of each compound switch places
with each other, creating two completely new compounds. Double displacement reactions generally

light on to the fact that sexism in fairy tales needs to be addressed and fixed. The authors of the
article state that feminist critics are worried about the way women are portrayed and how genderis
analyzed in fairytales. However, some feminists use fairytales as texts to help discuss gender.
They retell these tales to liberate women from the passiveness of traditional fairytales. Feminist
tales are agents of a new socialization and are being used to create discussion on social choices,
gender roles, and gender equality (Crowley and Pennington 299). This article discusses multiple
