“SUDOKU”
Sudoku is a
puzzle game
designed for a
single player,
much like a
crossword puzzle.
It is also defined
as a logic-based ,
number-
placement
The puzzle itself is nothing
more than a grid of little
boxes called “cells”. This
game was invented by
American Howard Garns in
1979 and published by Dell
Magazines as “Numbers in
Place”.
Sudoku consists of a 9x9 square
grid containing 81 cells. The grid is
subdivided into nine 3x3 blocks.
Some of the 81 cells are filled in
with numbers from the set {1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9}. These filled-in cells
are called givens. The goal is to fill
in the whole grid using the nine
digits so that each row, each
column, and each block contains
each number exactly once.

techniques
b.To construct a 4x4 blocks in
in Sudoku
c.To have a certain technique

Statement of the Problem
1. What is/are the possible
techniques to solve Sudoku
game?
2. Is it possible to have more
cells in the game?
3. Is there has such technique to
to fill-in the cells in a short period
period of time?
Significance of this Study
Conducting this investigation will help
people entertain their selves. People will
will also enhance their thinking ability by
by playing this game. It is good as a
motivation or activity in a mathematics
classroom to enhance the logical
thinking and improve number skills of
the students.
“MAGIC SQUARE”
A magic square is a square
array of the distinct positive
integers 1, 2, 3, …, n
such that the sum of the n
numbers in any horizontal,
vertical, or diagonal line is
always the same number
known as the magic constant.
The numbers are usually
integers and each
number is only used once.
And in many cases the
first number to be placed
in the square is 1.
Objectives of the Problem
a.To construct a magic square;
b.To construct a magic
rectangle;
c.To fill a magic square using
techniques; and
d.To have a certain solution to fill
fill the magic square.
Statement of the Problem
1.How to construct magic
squares?
2.Is it possible to construct a
magic rectangle?
3.What are the possible
ways/techniques to fill a
magic squares?
Significance of this Study
Conducting this investigation
will help teachers to make this as
as an activity or a motivation so
so that the students will enhance
enhance their mathematical
thinking and will improve number
number skills.
