Annotated Bibliography On Various Databases Used For...
Several databases were used for this review. Sources primarily came from EBSCO, which included
Academic Search Complete, Education Full Text, OmniFile Full Text Mega, General Science Full
Text, EBSCO Professional Development Collection, and Social Sciences Full Text databases. In
addition, the EBSCO eBook Collection and the EBSCO ebrary collection for full text books were
utilized. Other databases used for this review include Google Scholar and ERIC. The search was
narrowed by limiting sources to academic journals and books. Where possible, only peer reviewed
sources were used. Some keyword descriptors did not produce results within the peer review
parameters. The keywords searched included individual searches or pairings of the following words:
augmentative and alternative communication systems, severe/multiple disabilities, severe
communication impairments, pre service special education teachers, communication disorders,
competencies, knowledge and skills, special education, AAC,. Limitations of the search results. While
sources for this review were obtained from academic and scholarly sites, the number of peer reviewed
sources was limited. To maximize academic integrity of the source material, all sources were taken
from academic journals or from books published by qualified experts in the field. In addition, while
the research questions focused on instructional preparation of special education teachers using AAC,
few sources on the combined delimiters were available.

Interpretation Of The Apparent Age Theorists
The Apparent Age theory says that God created the world in six literal 24 hour solar days, and that the
basic facts of geology and paleontology can be attributed to original creation by apparent age and
Biblical catastrophism. It has been shown that a normal interpretation of scripture gives strong
evidence for a creation in six days of 24 hours (Dr.JackL.Arnold). Once more relying upon science to
form the filter through which we examine Scriptural truth, the Apparent Age theorists sees a
contradiction between science and God s Word and feeling he must reconcile the two, he decides that
God must have created the universe to look as if it were very old. After all, he posits, God made Adam
full grown, for what reason should we not believe that

Speech About Light
And God said, let there be light, and there was light...
To our Speech Professor, Miss Catherine Cadiz, fellow classmates, ladies and gentlemen, good
morning!
When God created the world, He only said these simple words Let there be light and light came just as
it is, in a blink of an eye. The sun was formed for daytime, the moon and stars for nighttime there and
then.
However, as simple as how God made the natural lights we have, that s also how difficult for people to
make innovative lights to cope with global demands. It took years for people to discover the use of fire
for lighting at night, years to discover electricity from hydro and geothermal sources, years to discover
the use of solar power to generate electricity, and even more years to discover alternative sources of
light.
Recently, a breakthrough in lighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is made after the Science of battery making, but instead of using toxic substances, the inventor made
us of non toxic electrolytes and saline solution. All you have to do is mix one tablespoon of salt to a
glass of water, and SALt lamp can already be used for six hours! If you live along the shorelines, no
need to use a mixture of salt and water. Just use saltwater directly from the sea, and you can use the
SALt lamp for eight hours straight. With proper maintenance, an anode can last for up to six months to
more than a year.
There is also another use of SALt lamp. By using your USB cable, you can charge your Smartphone
right to the SALt lamp itself. It will not give off harmful gasses and will only leave minimal carbon
footprints. It is indeed environmental friendly!
The invention of this lamp captured the eye of then President of the United States of America, Barack
Obama. This led the road for other countries to help the Filipina s vision To light up the rest of the

The Civil War Of Syria
The civil war in Syria has lasted for 5 years; yet, there is little hope for a prompt end to the turmoil. It
has developed into quite a unique civil war from the political perspective. Drawing in new actors who
have pursued their own goals within the country and contributed to the current condition of Syria. The
basis for this war and the conflicts within it have also had a large effect at the global level. The initial
welling for revolution in Syria was caused by a chain of regime changes across the Middle East in
2011 known as the Arab Spring. Beginning in Tunisia, civil protests arose against the long established
dictatorship in the country. The protests did not result in war but rather the resignation of the leader. It
freed citizens from a government that they believed had ignored their rights and established a new
administration which would hopefully correct the mistreatment the citizens had endured. Tunisia s
successful revolution had served as inspiration for the nearby country of Egypt to follow suite. The
protests in Egypt lasted for 18 days, during which internet was mostly blocked by the state to quell the
rumors of violence and rebellion. The defense against protesters failed and the president was stripped
of all power and jailed. News of two successful rebellions against oppressive regimes soon spread
across the Arab world. Libya was the next to try its hand at an uprising. The established power would
not be so easily removed however and the country descended

How Teachers Reinforce The Kiddos For Good Behavior
In the classrooms I am observing I have noticed many ways in which teachers reinforce the kiddos for
good behavior. Each teacher has their own rewards system. I have witnessed a rainbow chart, a marble
system and a stick chart. I have also noticed that many of the teachers do multiple activities with a
lesson in hopes that the information will reach the kiddos long term memory. The teachers use verbal
lessons, hands on activities and written reflections. Each class has their rules and what is considered
appropriate behavior. It has been interesting to see how each teacher rewards their students and how
they make it known what is and isn t okay for the students to do.
Two of the teachers I work with a lot have a very good rewards system going as a way of reinforcing
good behavior. The first teacher uses a rainbow chart and when the students get to the top they get to
choose a prize from the bucket. The other teacher uses a marble system. Each table and student has the
chance to gain marbles along with the class as a whole. If students are listening and behaving they
may get marbles to put in their tables container. If the whole class is doing an awesome job, the
marbles get put into the classes jar. When the students get enough marbles their table gets a prize or
reward of some sort, positive reinforcement. The kiddos get so excited when they get a prize. Negative
punishment is used when they are misbehaving. The students can also get marbles taken out of their
tables jar and

How Does American Apparel Portray Women
In advertising, companies tend to use images in which they believe will help to promote and sell their
product. One of the most common techniques that is seen in today s society is the stereotypical
portrayal of women, who tend to pose rather promiscuously as seen in Figure One. These types of
images portray women as sex objects or as submissive housewives to their husbands. This comes into
context with the advertising in which American Apparel portrays.
American Apparel has drawn a lot of attention for their marketing techniques as well as advertising.
One of the most controversial aspects to the company is its sexualization, objectification and
exploitation of women as well as the pressure the brand places on individuals to conform to normative

American Apparel is well known for its provocative imagery, artistic photograph and their attitude on
free expression within the fashion industry, but it is clear that to a certain extent American Apparel
crosses the line by objectifying and demeaning women (Martha De Lacey , 2013). This clearly has an
influence on young girls in today s society who glance through American Apparel s advertisements
and may have also added to the increase in mental and physical health as well as young girls
confidence. According to statistics, eating disorders have increasingly become an issue in society
today as well as the media s sexualized images of women are constant reminders of what society
wants all girls to be like. One of the many examples would be Figure

Essay on The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster
*Works Cited Not Included Chernobyl is a popular nuclear disaster it was a terrible technological
disaster. Chernobyl is a small town in the Ukraine. The closest major city is Kiev. Kiev is the capital
of the Ukraine. It is made up of 2.4 million people. In 1986 April 26 Chernobyl experienced an
unforgettable nuclear disaster. At the time, the USSR was responsible for roughly 10% of the world s
nuclear power. The year of the accident Chernobyl nuclear power plant was using four of the most
modern soviet reactors, the RBMK type.
The cause of this tragedy was due to operator error. The nuclear operators were running a test to
observe how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Soviets put only the bottom pipes in containment because this was easier. The main weakness was
in shutting the reactor down. As a result of inadequacy the shutdown rods are part of the normal plant
control system rather than being a separate emergency system. Again a fault in the control system also
makes the emergency shutdown unable to function. Another weakness was that Chernobyl had only
partial containment. Because of the partial containment the radiation went out the top of the reactor
where there were no leak tight boxes. The hot fuel and graphite were exposed to air when they went
out the top of the reactor. If there had been a completed containment, then the water and steam from
the broken pipes would have dissolved almost all of the cesium and radioactive iodine that escaped.
Even if the containment leaked the cesium and the iodine would not get out. Because the hot fuel and
graphite were exposed to air this chemical reaction did occur. The operators had removed all of the
control rods except for six. This action is against procedures. It is not safe for any reactor to operate
with so many control rods removed. Besides the RBMK reactor was not designed to operate at such
low power. The power generators of this reactor were run by steam forced through turbines. By the
time the reactor exploded none of the turbines were turning and all of the steam was building.

How Did Rousseau Influence The Philosophers Of The...
Philosophers of the Enlightenment played a crucial role in how the governments and people of Europe
would think and change. John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau were two political philosophers that
were quite important to this movement. John Locke is credited as the principal forerunner of the
Enlightenment (Mason 18) his writing would have large influence on other prominent figures in the
Enlightenment. The words of Rousseau in The Social Contract elaborated on concepts touched upon
by Locke, such as sovereignty and natural rights. He that, in the state of nature, would take away the
freedom that belongs to anyone in that state, must necessarily be supposed to have a design to take
away everything else, that freedom being the foundation

Arguments Against Libertarianism
Libertarianism is the social political philosophy that emphasizes autonomy, freedom of choice, and
individual rights above all else. Its name comes from Liberty as in a liberty to act as a morally
autonomous agent without public or private interference. Although Libertarianism holds a generally
skeptical view of political government, it does not entirely argue for anarchism. Libertarianism does
argue for a limited government, not necessarily limited in its actual physical size or scope, but rather
limited in its ability, and power, to interfere into the aforementioned autonomy of a moral citizen.
There are many schools of thoughts within Libertarianism. The purpose of this paper is not to give a
defense of a specific Libertarian philosophy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As was argued before, it is wrong for a state to impose moral values (even if those values are right).
Even more so, to do so creates inequality. Take the contemporary policy debate of whether an income
bracket should be taxed lower or higher. Conservatives may argue for a lower tax on certain, and
liberals may argue for higher tax on the rich. Both are wrong and unfair, and will only create
inequality. It is wrong, and immoral, to target a single group based on materialistic attributes such as
income. One cannot be selected for more harsher or lenient treatment based on how much money one
makes. It should be equal for everyone as it is the only fair position of not having a law benefit one
group because of X or Y trait or characteristic. I disagree with Rawl s progressive taxation arguments.
If a person, born equally into a society with equal opportunity, happens to make more money than the
rest, he or she should not be taxed any differently. For doing so would allow the state to impose a
restriction on an autonomous citizen that had not fault in virtue of making more or less money. Equal
representation under the law, and tax code, should be what is fair. Inequalities are bound to arise, and
Rawl s concern of them is a fair one, but to impose a penalty on a demographic because of X
characteristic is unfair. The law should be equal to all. Libertarianism advocates for equality, as

Social Media And Its Effects On The World Today Without...
You have to admit it s hard to imagine the world today without the Internet. However, it seems it s
hard just for some us. A recent study from the B2B research firm Clutch, revealed that more than 46%
of small businesses in the United States still don t have a website for their company. Numerous
reasons were listed for not having an online presence, for instance, around 12% of small business
representatives said that they use social media networks in place of static site. But the most popular
reason by far was the cost of maintaining a site.
Now, while starting and maintaining a website will definitely cost you, in reality, you don t have to
spend a ton of money in order to have a fully functional, modern site and keep up with the
competition. On the other hand, there are some things you cannot ignore if you want to save as much
money as you can, and unfortunately, one of the biggest issues many companies don t pay much
attention is cybersecurity. These days, hackers and other cyber criminals are pocketing a staggering
amount of data and money from small business around the globe.
The State of Cybersecurity
When you consider the costs that companies suffering as a result of cybercrime crime wave is an
understatement to say the least, as a matter of fact, epidemic is more like it. Just consider this, three

DNA Essay example
DNA is a term that has been used in science as well as in many parts of daily life. The general public
knows that DNA is a part of our bodies but they may wonder what exactly is DNA? DNA is a term
used for deoxyribonucleic acid and it is the genetic material of all organisms, it is the molecule of life
and it determines all of our physical characteristics. DNA is present in every single form of life. More
than 50 years after the science of genetics was established and the patterns of inheritance were
clarified, the largest questions remained unanswered: How are the chromosomes and their genes
copied exactly from cell to cell, and how do they direct the structure and behavior of living things?
Two American geneticists, George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To make a new, identical copy of the DNA molecule, the two strands unwind and separate at the bases
which are weakly bound; with more nucleotides available in the cell, new complementary bases can
link with each separated strand, and two double helixes result. (Caldwell) Since the backbone of every
chromosome is a single long, double stranded molecule of DNA, the production of two identical
double helixes will result in the production of two identical chromosomes.
The DNA backbone is actually longer than the chromosome but is tightly coiled up within it. This
packing is now known to be based on minute particles of protein known as nucleosomes, that can only
be seen under the most powerful electron microscope. The DNA is wound around each nucleosome to
form a beaded structure.
The structure is then further folded so that the beads associate in regular coils. Thus, the DNA has a
coiled coil configuration.
After the discoveries of Watson and Crick, the question that remained was how the DNA directs the
formation of proteins, compounds central to all the processes of life. Proteins are not only the major
components of most cell structures, they also control virtually all the chemical reactions that occur in
living matter. The ability of a protein to act as part of a structure, or as an enzyme affecting the rate of
a particular chemical reaction, depends on its molecular shape. This shape, in turn,

While in the E.R. her respiratory functions deteriorated so a referral to the ICU was made. E.R. doctor

Ethical beneficence refers to a normative statement of a moral obligation to act for the others benefit,
helping them to further their important and legitimate interests, often by preventing or removing
possible harm (Beauchamp). The principles of autonomy states that there is an agreement to respect
another s right to self determine a course of action (Butts, Richs) and nonmaleficence is avoidance of
harm or hurt and is the core of medical oath and nursing ethics (Butts, Richs). These three principles
can guide all the doctors and nurses to put into place the care of Mrs. Wells. Before the doctors had a
meeting to discuss the situation with Betsy, Matt, and Robert they came to an agreement that Mrs.
Wells was dying and even if they did try to resuscitate Mrs. Wells in the end the expected outcome is
still going to be death. So because of this they all agreed that the best care for Mrs. Wells would be to

Neuromuscular Junction Research Paper
The neuromuscular junction is where the nerve meets our muscles. To be able to move, we would
need an impulse sent from our brain to our muscles. The nerve impulse gets sent to our muscles from
the CNS, which leads to our muscles contracting. The nervous impulse that s sent to the CNS is called
the action potential, the impulse that sends a signal to our muscles is known as the motor neurones.
For our muscles to contract we need a nervous impulse, the end of our nerves are called the synaptic
knob, this hits the vesicles and releases acetylcholine. The acetylcholine then goes through the cleft
(the gap between the synaptic knob and the muscle) and tells the muscles to contract, if it doesn t go
through the cleft our muscles will not contract, this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nervous impulse will only reach the muscle fibres if the signal from the CNS is strong enough.
This also is the all or nothing principle because if the strength of the signal is not strong enough the
motor unit will contract, but if the strength of the signal is strong enough then all of the motor unit will
contract. The function of the motor unit is to basically allow movement, so without these muscle
fibres we won t be able to have movement. There are two type of muscle fibres, fast twitch and slow
twitch. The slow twitch muscle fibres are good for activities such as endurance events, e.g. the
marathon. This is because these muscles don t get tired during exercise. The fast twitch muscle fibres
get tired too quickly because they are used for quick, sharp events such as 100m sprint so this can
result in fatigue and therefore can build up lactic acid which will result in cramps

Support Children And Young People
Support children and young people to have positive relationships
1.1 Identify the different relationships children and young people may have
There are many different relationships that children develop as they grow, babies know that they cry to
get attention from their parent for food or just a cuddle this is the beginning of learning to build
relationships. Every child and family are different in how they believe relationships should be made
and who children are allowed to talk to or be around so everyone is different when it comes to who
they trust or get along with. Relationships children and young people may have are: parental, carer,
sibling, family, friendship, emotional, acquaintance and professional.
1.2 Explain the importance of positive relationships for development and wellbeing
The quality of relationships that we as practitioners have with children and young people has a huge
effect on the way in which we can work with them and help them. When children feel comfortable
with us they can separate more easily from their parents, they are more likely to participate in the play
and learning activities if they are secure emotionally. When children have a strong relationship they
are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we can recognise and meet their needs, children s
language may develop more quickly as they feel confident talking to us. Practitioners can plan more
accurately as they understand children s developmental needs and know their interests and what

Personal Strengths Of Personality Types
Growing up shapes and defines our personalities, our personalities develop the most based on our
experiences as young children. I once had a pre school teacher write about who I was at close to the
age of four, this is what she said, Ivy she presents herself as being very timid and shy, but can be as
rough and tough as any of the boys. She likes to play with the boys and is rumored to have a
boyfriend. She also likes to giggle with the girls and becomes very excited to see her friends and her
brother Evan. She has the sweetest grin and assures her friends that Mommy will be back soon . Even
as a young child my teacher was able to gather my personality accurately and some of those traits
have stayed with me as a growing adult, I believe they define me and make me unique.
In the five minute personality test about animals, it clearly states that I have a similar if not exact
personality as a golden retriever. This particular personality type is very sensitive and caring which
suits myself perfectly. The golden retriever personality type is very accommodating which means we
get along well and can adapt if needed. We are very calm which allows us to evaluate any situation
and hold our ground. We are also affirming when it comes to certain things we will hold our ground.
These strengths are what help us get along well with others and make friends easily. Making friends

The Marketing Plan Of Ebay Essay
eBay was founded in Pierre Omidyar s San Jose living room back in September 1995. It was from the
start meant to be a marketplace for the sale of goods and services for individuals.
In 1998, Pierre and his cofounder Jeff Skoll brought in Meg Whitman to sustain the success.
Meg had studied at the Harvard Business School and had learned the importance of branding at
companies such as Hasbro.
Meg culled her senior staff from companies such as PepsiCo. and Disney, created an experienced
management team with an average of 20 years of business experience and built a strong vision for the
company that eBay is a company that s in the business of connecting people, not selling them things.
They quickly shed the image of only auctioning collectibles and moved into an array of upscale
markets where the average sale price (ASP) is higher. ASP is a key metric in determining eBay s
transaction fees, so increasing the ASP became an important item. By forging partnerships with name
brands such as GM, Disney and Sun, eBay has managed to do exactly that. In addition to its auction
style sales, the website has since expanded to include Buy It Now shopping; shopping by UPC , ISBN
, or other kind of SKU ,online classified advertisements (via Kijiji or eBay Classifieds); online event
ticket trading (via StubHub ); and other services. It previously offered online money transfers through

Threats of New Entrants
The barrier of entry is medium since there are competing companies. For example, Amazon s Kindle
Fire versus Apple iPad (Zimmerman 2010). The threat of new entrants is medium to low, since new
companies are gradually getting into the online business. For example, in December, 2011, eBay made
revenues of about $3.38 billion, which is about 19.3% of Amazon s revenue.
2. Bargaining Power of Suppliers:
The bargaining power of the suppliers is very low since there are many suppliers who are willing to
sell their goods online using Amazon.com. The goods are usually sold to a third party, and suppliers
are paid quickly.
3. Threats of substitutes:
The threat of substitutes is very low, because of innovative services that improve the quality of goods
within a short period of time. There is also high brand recognition for the company that makes it
difficult to substitute their products. In addition, there is high customer satisfaction since they get
quality goods from the company. The company also offers well recognized and trusted services.
Lastly, this makes the threat of substitution very low.
4. Rivalry among industry competitors:
There is stiff competition among the retail companies. The competition between Amazon and Wal
Mart is very stiff, since both companies are using almost the same methods to remain leaders in the
retail industry. Both companies are using an online mechanism to sell their products, as well

Music Analysis Bach Suite No. 3 in D Major Gavotte Essay
Analysis: Bach Suite No. 3 in D major
The instruments used in the piece are: * Trumpet 1 * Trumpet 2 * Trumpet 3 * Timpani * Oboe 1 *
Oboe 2 * Violin 1 * Violin 2 * Viola * Continuo Harpsichord or Double Bass
Why this piece is typically baroque
This is piece is baroque as it includes many of the baroque characteristics: * Perfect Cadence!! In the
concept Pitch, the perfect cadence is very obvious at the end of the sections and phrases change from
the dominant to the tonic. * Duration the rhythmic pattern heard at the start of each gavotte, is
reiterated many times throughout the piece. This also links to Pitch the opening melody of the piece is
heard many times throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The phrases are generally 8 beats long extending over 3 the last two beats of the first bar and the first
two beats of the third bar( in the excerpt to the right).
Throughout Section A, there is no syncopation all notes fall on the beat.
Texture The texture is homophonic throughout the whole of Section A. There are three layers of sound
in the Section A. The first is the melody played by the violins and trumpets. This is the layer of sound
which is most prominent throughout A. The second is the timpani and viola part. This is the softest
layer throughout the section. It provides harmony to the melody, using the notes of the D major chord.
The last layer is the continuo bass It provides accompaniment and bass.
The harmonic rhythm is not very steady as the chords only change in bars 7, 10 and 11. The chord
changes from D to A and then from A to E and E to A (shown in the musical excerpt). These chord
changes are changes from either the dominant to the tonic or the tonic to the dominant, showing the
typical barque chord changes.
Through adding trumpets, bars 1 3 and bars 5 7 are the densest of Section A. This highlights the main
repeated motif. Bars 3 5 and 7 11 are softer as these are the less important phrases of the section.
Section A1 bars 12 27
This Section is called A1, because it uses similar rhythms and pitch throughout the Section. The
structure of the section is however not the same to section A as there are various key changes

Zero Based Budgets Essay
Zero based budgeting starts from a zero base and every function within an organization is analyzed for
its needs and costs. Budgets are then built around what is needed for the upcoming period, regardless
of whether the budget is higher or lower than the previous one.
Because of its detail oriented nature, zero based budgeting may be a rolling process done over several
years, with only a few functional areas reviewed at a time by managers or group leadership.
Zero based budgeting can lower costs by avoiding blanket increases or decreases to a prior period s
budget. It is, however, a time consuming process that takes much longer than traditional, cost based
budgeting. The practice also favors areas that achieve direct revenues or ... Show more content on

Some departments can utilize an in depth study of a zero based budget while others can use a rolling
budget. This is a way to spread the extensive work over a number of years instead of concentrating on
one certain year. Many organizations have implemented the system in some form or another and found
that it did not work. If properly implemented, however, the process could have a considerable
improvement over traditional rolling budgets. The number and nature of decision packages varies
from organization to organization; it is not uncommon for large organizations to identify several
thousand packages. Furthermore, it is often hard or even impossible for top executives to have the
necessary knowledge or time to develop and rank priorities for thousands of packages.
To alleviate this problem, managers, after ranking their own packages, can have their top executives
rank the packages of all the managers that report to them. This approach is used by one of zero based
budgeting s pioneers, Texas Instruments. Another solution is for each level of management to rank a
certain percentage of packages within its own area of responsibility. In this solution, the first level of
management may rank 40 percent of the proposed packages; the next level may rank the next 40
percent of packages, while top management may concentrate on the remainder of the budget

The Secret Life Of Bees Character Analysis
Many people can have a more than one mother. Whether they are blood related or not, they can have
all the traits a mom has to someone. Black Mary, for example, is a mother figure to many people in the
novel, The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. The Secret Life of Bees was set in 1965. The
novel, written by Sue Monk Kidd, mostly talks about a coming of age process with the main character,
Lily Owens as she grows up. She learns about the love, family, and Black Mary. Black Mary is a
major piece to the novel for she is one of the reasons that Lily developed as a person so much. The use
of Black Mary as a symbol helps readers understand the novel s overall theme, which is people can
have family even though they are not related by blood.
The symbol, Black Mary is significant to the novel as a whole since she gives people comfort and
strength. In the novel, The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd, August told Lily a story about how
Black Mary will stand in for someone until they come back when she said, Do you remember the nun
Beatrix, who ran away? What do you mean? the sister said. The nun Beatrix didn t run away. Why
there she is over near the altar, sweeping. Well, you can imagine how this floored the real Beatrix. She
marched over to the sweeping woman to get a look at her and discovered it was none other than Mary.
Mary smiled at Beatrix, then led her back to her room and gave her back her nun outfit, (Kidd 91).
While Beatrix was away, Mary was standing

Verb and Gerund
Introduction My course paper is called the gerund. I have chosen this subject, because I want to know
more about the gerund. There are several reasons for it: 1)1 want know more about the gerund,
because it will help me in my future studying, will help me not to produce errors ; 2) Since most
languages ( e.g.: Spanish, Russian, French) have infinitives, but no gerunds; 3) This will help me to
increase my outlook.
I think the use of the gerunds in English is problem, because use infinitive is easier, and How I wrote
above the gerund is no in the Russian language. This is one of the reasons why students do mistakes.
The gerund is rendered in Russian in different ways: a) The gerund executes the functions of a subject

The English verbs include four forms distinctly differing one another within the general verb system:
the infinitive, the present participle, the past participle and the gerund. As natural results of its origin
and development the gerund has nominal and verbal properties. The nominal characteristic of the
gerund are followed: The gerund can be perform the functions of subject, predicative, object,
adverbial modifier, and attribute. I will describe all of them. The Gerund is the non finite form of the
verb which combines the properties of the verb with those of the noun. The gerund serves as the
verbal name of a process, but its substantive quality is more strongly pronounced than that of the
infinitive. Namely, as different from the infinitive, and
similar to the noun, the gerund can be modified by a noun in the possessive case or its pronominal
equivalents (expressing the subject of the verbal process), and it can be used with prepositions. Since
the gerund is an abstract name of the process denoted by the verbal lexeme, a question might arise,
why the infinitive, and not the gerund is taken as the head form of the verbal lexeme as a

The Catholic Views Of The Roman Catholic Church
The Roman Catholic Church has consistently condemned abortion the direct and purposeful taking of
the life of the unborn child. In principle, Catholic Christians believe that all life is sacred from
conception until natural death, and the taking of innocent human life, whether born or unborn, is
morally wrong. The Church teaches, Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the
creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole
end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance
claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being ( Donum vitae, 5).
The respect for the sacredness of life in the womb originates in Christianity s Jewish roots. The
ancient Jewish world was much different from the surrounding cultures of Palestine where infanticide,
infant sacrifice and abortion were not uncommon, and in some cases prevalent. For the Jewish people
of those times and orthodox Jews to this day, all human life has as its author the one God whose
creative power produces the child in the mother s womb and brings it step by step to full life. The Old
Testament revelation, which the Church inherited and accepted, gives clear evidence that life in the
womb was considered as sacred. Moses proclaimed, When you hearken to the voice of the Lord, your
God, all these blessings will come upon you and overwhelm you: May you be blessed in the city,

A Text That Lasts Forever Essay
A Text That Lasts Forever
Tuesday morning the 10th of May had begun as any normal work day in our household. Pam s alarm
had gone off at the ungodly hour of five o clock in the morning and I had rolled over waiting for my
alarm to sound at a more decent hour of six o clock. Then I would start my day. When we left for work
that morning we had to stop and go back because Pam had forgotten her office keys. She never seems
to forget her coffee but the keys are another story. The traffic was at a normal rush hour crawl as we
headed south on Rufe Snow to make our way onto highway 121 towards Fort Worth and eventually to
Texas Wesleyan University. On this particular morning the sun had not yet peeked over the horizon.
However, the glow in the few floating clouds was announcing that summer was on its way and today
was going to be a sunny, hot day in Texas.
As we drove to work we were discussing meetings we each had for the day and the workload that
awaited us upon our arrival. We talked about the not so important yet pressing matters such as what
we would have for dinner and if our schedules would allow us to meet for lunch. We had turned onto
East Lancaster and were headed east, less than a mile from work, when things began to change. Traffic
was moving a little slower than the posted speed limit and the black truck in front of us made a
dramatic jerk from the inside right to the left hand lane. I was about ready to make some derogatory
remark about his driving when I

A Biological Family In Kingsolver s The Bean Trees
Everyone has a biological family but, sometimes people give up their children or when children grow
up they sometimes decide to leave this biological family. But, this does not mean that these children
have given up a family forever. According to dictionary.com, a family is considered to be a group
consisting of parents and children living together in a household . This definition generates the idea
that family does not have to be biological. In The Bean Trees, Kingsolver uses the intimacy between
the character to suggest the idea that non biological families can be as strong or even stronger than
biological ones.
The connection to Taylor s heritage helps to create a sense of family and belonging when she is in
Cherokee nation. When Taylor first leaves home she drives through C herokee nation which, reminds
her of her heritage and family so she writes a letter to her mom. On the postcard, she writes: No
offense, but the Cherokee Nation is crap. Headed west. Love, M (16). This shows the connection
between her and the Cherokees. When she writes Cherokee Nation is crap it shows how she is leaving
her heritage and family behind. Also, she says headed west , this indicates her continuing her journey
which can foreshadow to a new family or heritage. While she is in Cherokee Nation Taylor is coming
out of a bar and she suddenly receives a child. When Taylor first begins her journey she receives a
baby in the middle of nowhere, and she thinks I can take this Indian

Cursorial Theory
Another, and possibly outlandish hypothesis, is in par with Chlamydosaurus kingii, and is usually

Lizard, employs a whimsical mode of transportation. Aquila audax, the largest bird of prey in
Australia, supports as a constant threat to Chlamydosaurus kingii, as its highly efficacious eyesight

state of retaining four autonomous channels for transmitting color data, or bearing four distinct

It occupied in the early Tithonian stage of the Jurassic period, approximately 150.8 148.5 million
years ago. A. lithographica had been unearthed in the Solnhofen Limestones in Bavaria, Germany,
located in the southwest portion of Germany. In the modern age, Bavaria boasts distinct seasons, due
to its position in the continental climate zone. Commencing during the vernal equinox, precipitation
deluges Bavaria constantly, on the behalf of the rain shadow effect. The rain shadow effect prescribes
that mountains compel the air to ascend in order to journey above them. This results in air of a lower
temperature. Bavaria has an elevated mountain chain coined the Bavarian Alps. If the air mass is
traversing from west to east, the areas on the west (windward) side will receive the rain. Oppositely,
the areas on the east (leeward) side will reside with the torrid air, and receive little to no monsoon.
Contrarily, the climate in the Jurassic Period differentiated superlatively as it was moderately littered
with trees, abundant in invertebrates, significantly barren, semi tropical with tainted waters, and a
quaggy texture embodied the land. Germany 155 million years ago was mostly comprised of a balmy,
shallow sea, mottled with islands. Organism such as sponges and corals thrived in these seas,
burgeoning large enough to form reefs, which effectively partitioned the body of water into tinier

How Did the Working Class Prosper Under the Nazis from...
This essay explores whether the working class prospered during the Nazis from 1933 to 1938. To
determine if the working class was better off under the Nazis I will look specifically at unemployment
, Beauty of Labour and Strength through Joy which were initiatives which aimed at improving the
working class. On the whole, although the working class was given paid work and took part in
organised activities, their situation did not really improve as I will demonstrate in the course of this
essay. If we take into account the statistics relating to unemployment at first glance it appears that the
trend was positive unemployment reduced significantly from 2,151,000 in 1935 to 119,000 in 1939
(source 5). Also as Source 10 highlights the fact that wages increased among three categories of
workers farmers, industrial workers and big business. One comment by a motorway construction
worker confirmed that under Hitler miracles had been accomplished and things were getting better.
(source 9). Source 6 is a photograph from 1933 of workers constructing a motorway. The photo is
staged as everyone is looking at the camera and looking like they are not exhausted. Likewise, if we
look at the description of the programme from the RAD camp in 1938 although it indicates a long day
(getting up at 4:45 and ending with lights out at 22:00) it shows a balance of activities such as parade
at 19:15 and sing songs and leisure activities after supper. However, in reality the workers were

Calypso Song Analysis
The 1940 s was a time of conflict, despair, and hope to everyone who was involved in war of the
giants. World War II, as the name states was a conflict on a global scale, with a plethora of nations
involved. In addition, many of those nations created pacts of alliances with each other that only
complicated the fighting. One of the nations that was involved was the country of Trinidad and
Tobago, as a key collaborator with Allies against the Axis of Powers, it provided the area for two US
bases (The Roaring Lion). Furthermore, it provided support during the conflict of the Atlantic. During
this time the Trinidad and Tobago culture became a receiver of many different inputs, in the matters of
all aspects. These new inputs of influences forged the music culture of calypso, the voice of the people
in the form of song. Through calypso melodies, the people of Trinidad and Tobago started to tell their
views of the world events, and during this time the major event was WWII. By analyzing the lyrics of
the Trinidad song that was made in 1943, it can be determined what the current events were at the time
and the political opinions of the native people, which was the changing view on the soviet forces of in
the war.
The lyrics of this calypso song talk about the successful war campaigning of Russia, and as the result
of its movement how the view on the country has changed. These lyrics can be translated as the
historical point in the war, as the in the year 1943 the Russian forces

Reasons For The Fall Of Pakistan Essay
It s been more than 68 years of so called independence but yet we are not free. Although we were
assigned with a new territory and a new title yet we haven t stood up on our own. Pakistan is
enormously confined within a foreign group of countries. And they manipulate us as they want and we
are bound to follow them. A country prospers only when the basic requirements, food, clothes and
shelter, are rendered to its citizens. But to do so, first we have to liberate our homeland from foreign
affairs. There are a number of factors that are responsible for the downfall of Pakistan. Let s have a
look on 10 primary reasons behind the downfall of Pakistan:
1. Poverty
Poverty the absence of basic necessities, is the main cause of a number of different problems. In
Pakistan, during the past decade, the poverty has been increased by 30% to 40%. Pakistan is the
country where more than 55% of population lies under the poverty line. The political strategies by the
governing bodies are so weak that even after 68 years, we couldn t cope up with poverty. We have the
world s best irrigation system, abundance of natural resources, rich land and warm water seashore yet
we are among the world s poorest countries.
2. Terrorism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

investors started descending and recently it was almost finished. Thousands of Pakistanis were killed
and millions were migrated leaving everything behind. This war broke the backbone of Pakistan. They

Benefits Of Teaching Foreign Languages In Schools
The second reason that children should be taught foreign languages at a younger age is the academic
benefits while learning the language. Multiple researchers have studied the advantages that children
have if they have studied a language in the past. Almost all the findings have concluded that people
that learn a language at young do better academically. In Blue Linder s discussion on the importance
of teaching foreign language in schools, she states that Children gain a deeper understanding of
English as they learn the structure and vocabulary of other languages. This understanding translates
into more confidence in English and a greater command of the language. Furthermore, learning a
second language fosters a flexibility of thinking that translates into math, creativity, and problem
solving. Here Linder is talking about the fact that children who learn a second language can expand
their minds and the ways that they think. Seeing the differences in a language and how they connect to
their native language enables them to see different patterns and correlations. Children are then able to
apply this way of seeing connections to other areas of school. If all students were to learn languages in
their early school years, it is believed that schools would see a major increase in the academic success
of the students. This success would give students many opportunities they did not previously have.
Not only is it beneficial to learn a second language, it is even more rewarding

  • 3. Interpretation Of The Apparent Age Theorists The Apparent Age theory says that God created the world in six literal 24 hour solar days, and that the basic facts of geology and paleontology can be attributed to original creation by apparent age and Biblical catastrophism. It has been shown that a normal interpretation of scripture gives strong evidence for a creation in six days of 24 hours (Dr.JackL.Arnold). Once more relying upon science to form the filter through which we examine Scriptural truth, the Apparent Age theorists sees a contradiction between science and God s Word and feeling he must reconcile the two, he decides that God must have created the universe to look as if it were very old. • 4. Speech About Light And God said, let there be light, and there was light... To our Speech Professor, Miss Catherine Cadiz, fellow classmates, ladies and gentlemen, good morning! When God created the world, He only said these simple words Let there be light and light came just as it is, in a blink of an eye. The sun was formed for daytime, the moon and stars for nighttime there and then. However, as simple as how God made the natural lights we have, that s also how difficult for people to make innovative lights to cope with global demands. It took years for people to discover the use of fire for lighting at night, years to discover electricity from hydro and geothermal sources, years to discover the use of solar power to generate electricity, and even more years to discover alternative sources of light. Recently, a breakthrough in lighting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just use saltwater directly from the sea, and you can use the SALt lamp for eight hours straight. With proper maintenance, an anode can last for up to six months to more than a year. There is also another use of SALt lamp. By using your USB cable, you can charge your Smartphone right to the SALt lamp itself. It will not give off harmful gasses and will only leave minimal carbon footprints. It is indeed environmental friendly! The invention of this lamp captured the eye of then President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. • 5. The Civil War Of Syria The civil war in Syria has lasted for 5 years; yet, there is little hope for a prompt end to the turmoil. It has developed into quite a unique civil war from the political perspective. Drawing in new actors who have pursued their own goals within the country and contributed to the current condition of Syria. The basis for this war and the conflicts within it have also had a large effect at the global level. The initial welling for revolution in Syria was caused by a chain of regime changes across the Middle East in 2011 known as the Arab Spring. Beginning in Tunisia, civil protests arose against the long established dictatorship in the country. The protests did not result in war but rather the resignation of the leader. It freed citizens from a government that they believed had ignored their rights and established a new administration which would hopefully correct the mistreatment the citizens had endured. Tunisia s successful revolution had served as inspiration for the nearby country of Egypt to follow suite. The protests in Egypt lasted for 18 days, during which internet was mostly blocked by the state to quell the rumors of violence and rebellion. The defense against protesters failed and the president was stripped of all power and jailed. News of two successful rebellions against oppressive regimes soon spread across the Arab world. Libya was the next to try its hand at an uprising. The established power would not be so easily removed however and the country descended ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. How Teachers Reinforce The Kiddos For Good Behavior In the classrooms I am observing I have noticed many ways in which teachers reinforce the kiddos for good behavior. Each teacher has their own rewards system. I have witnessed a rainbow chart, a marble system and a stick chart. I have also noticed that many of the teachers do multiple activities with a lesson in hopes that the information will reach the kiddos long term memory. The teachers use verbal lessons, hands on activities and written reflections. Each class has their rules and what is considered appropriate behavior. It has been interesting to see how each teacher rewards their students and how they make it known what is and isn t okay for the students to do. Two of the teachers I work with a lot have a very good rewards system going as a way of reinforcing good behavior. The first teacher uses a rainbow chart and when the students get to the top they get to choose a prize from the bucket. The other teacher uses a marble system. Each table and student has the chance to gain marbles along with the class as a whole. If students are listening and behaving they may get marbles to put in their tables container. If the whole class is doing an awesome job, the marbles get put into the classes jar. When the students get enough marbles their table gets a prize or reward of some sort, positive reinforcement. The kiddos get so excited when they get a prize. Negative punishment is used when they are misbehaving. The students can also get marbles taken out of their tables jar and ... • 7. How Does American Apparel Portray Women In advertising, companies tend to use images in which they believe will help to promote and sell their product. One of the most common techniques that is seen in today s society is the stereotypical portrayal of women, who tend to pose rather promiscuously as seen in Figure One. These types of images portray women as sex objects or as submissive housewives to their husbands. This comes into context with the advertising in which American Apparel portrays. American Apparel has drawn a lot of attention for their marketing techniques as well as advertising. American Apparel is well known for its provocative imagery, artistic photograph and their attitude on free expression within the fashion industry, but it is clear that to a certain extent American Apparel crosses the line by objectifying and demeaning women (Martha De Lacey , 2013). This clearly has an influence on young girls in today s society who glance through American Apparel s advertisements and may have also added to the increase in mental and physical health as well as young girls confidence. • 8. Essay on The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster The Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster *Works Cited Not Included Chernobyl is a popular nuclear disaster it was a terrible technological disaster. Chernobyl is a small town in the Ukraine. The closest major city is Kiev. Kiev is the capital of the Ukraine. It is made up of 2.4 million people. In 1986 April 26 Chernobyl experienced an unforgettable nuclear disaster. At the time, the USSR was responsible for roughly 10% of the world s nuclear power. The year of the accident Chernobyl nuclear power plant was using four of the most modern soviet reactors, the RBMK type. The cause of this tragedy was due to operator error. The nuclear operators were running a test to observe how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Soviets put only the bottom pipes in containment because this was easier. The main weakness was in shutting the reactor down. As a result of inadequacy the shutdown rods are part of the normal plant control system rather than being a separate emergency system. Again a fault in the control system also makes the emergency shutdown unable to function. Another weakness was that Chernobyl had only partial containment. Because of the partial containment the radiation went out the top of the reactor where there were no leak tight boxes. The hot fuel and graphite were exposed to air when they went out the top of the reactor. If there had been a completed containment, then the water and steam from the broken pipes would have dissolved almost all of the cesium and radioactive iodine that escaped. Even if the containment leaked the cesium and the iodine would not get out. Because the hot fuel and graphite were exposed to air this chemical reaction did occur. The operators had removed all of the control rods except for six. This action is against procedures. It is not safe for any reactor to operate with so many control rods removed. Besides the RBMK reactor was not designed to operate at such low power. The power generators of this reactor were run by steam forced through turbines. By the time the reactor exploded none of the turbines were turning and all of the steam was building. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. How Did Rousseau Influence The Philosophers Of The... Philosophers of the Enlightenment played a crucial role in how the governments and people of Europe would think and change. John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau were two political philosophers that were quite important to this movement. John Locke is credited as the principal forerunner of the Enlightenment (Mason 18) his writing would have large influence on other prominent figures in the Enlightenment. The words of Rousseau in The Social Contract elaborated on concepts touched upon by Locke, such as sovereignty and natural rights. • 10. Arguments Against Libertarianism Libertarianism is the social political philosophy that emphasizes autonomy, freedom of choice, and individual rights above all else. Its name comes from Liberty as in a liberty to act as a morally autonomous agent without public or private interference. Although Libertarianism holds a generally skeptical view of political government, it does not entirely argue for anarchism. Libertarianism does argue for a limited government, not necessarily limited in its actual physical size or scope, but rather limited in its ability, and power, to interfere into the aforementioned autonomy of a moral citizen. There are many schools of thoughts within Libertarianism. The purpose of this paper is not to give a defense of a specific Libertarian philosophy, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As was argued before, it is wrong for a state to impose moral values (even if those values are right). Even more so, to do so creates inequality. Take the contemporary policy debate of whether an income bracket should be taxed lower or higher. Conservatives may argue for a lower tax on certain, and liberals may argue for higher tax on the rich. Both are wrong and unfair, and will only create inequality. It is wrong, and immoral, to target a single group based on materialistic attributes such as income. One cannot be selected for more harsher or lenient treatment based on how much money one makes. It should be equal for everyone as it is the only fair position of not having a law benefit one group because of X or Y trait or characteristic. I disagree with Rawl s progressive taxation arguments. If a person, born equally into a society with equal opportunity, happens to make more money than the rest, he or she should not be taxed any differently. For doing so would allow the state to impose a restriction on an autonomous citizen that had not fault in virtue of making more or less money. Equal representation under the law, and tax code, should be what is fair. Inequalities are bound to arise, and Rawl s concern of them is a fair one, but to impose a penalty on a demographic because of X characteristic is unfair. The law should be equal to all. Libertarianism advocates for equality, as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Social Media And Its Effects On The World Today Without... You have to admit it s hard to imagine the world today without the Internet. However, it seems it s hard just for some us. A recent study from the B2B research firm Clutch, revealed that more than 46% of small businesses in the United States still don t have a website for their company. Numerous reasons were listed for not having an online presence, for instance, around 12% of small business representatives said that they use social media networks in place of static site. But the most popular reason by far was the cost of maintaining a site. Now, while starting and maintaining a website will definitely cost you, in reality, you don t have to spend a ton of money in order to have a fully functional, modern site and keep up with the competition. On the other hand, there are some things you cannot ignore if you want to save as much money as you can, and unfortunately, one of the biggest issues many companies don t pay much attention is cybersecurity. These days, hackers and other cyber criminals are pocketing a staggering amount of data and money from small business around the globe. The State of Cybersecurity When you consider the costs that companies suffering as a result of cybercrime crime wave is an understatement to say the least, as a matter of fact, epidemic is more like it. Just consider this, three years ago, according to the Wall Street Journal, the cost of cybercrime in America was around $100 billion. Last year, however, insurance company Lloyd s ... • 12. DNA Essay example DNA is a term that has been used in science as well as in many parts of daily life. The general public knows that DNA is a part of our bodies but they may wonder what exactly is DNA? DNA is a term used for deoxyribonucleic acid and it is the genetic material of all organisms, it is the molecule of life and it determines all of our physical characteristics. DNA is present in every single form of life. More than 50 years after the science of genetics was established and the patterns of inheritance were clarified, the largest questions remained unanswered: How are the chromosomes and their genes copied exactly from cell to cell, and how do they direct the structure and behavior of living things? Two American geneticists, George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To make a new, identical copy of the DNA molecule, the two strands unwind and separate at the bases which are weakly bound; with more nucleotides available in the cell, new complementary bases can link with each separated strand, and two double helixes result. (Caldwell) Since the backbone of every chromosome is a single long, double stranded molecule of DNA, the production of two identical double helixes will result in the production of two identical chromosomes. The DNA backbone is actually longer than the chromosome but is tightly coiled up within it. This packing is now known to be based on minute particles of protein known as nucleosomes, that can only be seen under the most powerful electron microscope. The DNA is wound around each nucleosome to form a beaded structure. The structure is then further folded so that the beads associate in regular coils. Thus, the DNA has a coiled coil configuration. After the discoveries of Watson and Crick, the question that remained was how the DNA directs the formation of proteins, compounds central to all the processes of life. Proteins are not only the major components of most cell structures, they also control virtually all the chemical reactions that occur in living matter. The ability of a protein to act as part of a structure, or as an enzyme affecting the rate of a particular chemical reaction, depends on its molecular shape. This shape, in turn, ... She was brought into the emergency room by her care taker and she was in respiratory distress. While in the E.R. her respiratory functions deteriorated so a referral to the ICU was made. E.R. doctor also found records on Mrs. Wells stating that she had advanced bowel cancer, with lungs, bones, and brain metastases. • 17. Neuromuscular Junction Research Paper The neuromuscular junction is where the nerve meets our muscles. To be able to move, we would need an impulse sent from our brain to our muscles. The nerve impulse gets sent to our muscles from the CNS, which leads to our muscles contracting. The nervous impulse that s sent to the CNS is called the action potential, the impulse that sends a signal to our muscles is known as the motor neurones. For our muscles to contract we need a nervous impulse, the end of our nerves are called the synaptic knob, this hits the vesicles and releases acetylcholine. The acetylcholine then goes through the cleft (the gap between the synaptic knob and the muscle) and tells the muscles to contract, if it doesn t go through the cleft our muscles will not contract, this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nervous impulse will only reach the muscle fibres if the signal from the CNS is strong enough. This also is the all or nothing principle because if the strength of the signal is not strong enough the motor unit will contract, but if the strength of the signal is strong enough then all of the motor unit will contract. The function of the motor unit is to basically allow movement, so without these muscle fibres we won t be able to have movement. There are two type of muscle fibres, fast twitch and slow twitch. The slow twitch muscle fibres are good for activities such as endurance events, e.g. the marathon. This is because these muscles don t get tired during exercise. The fast twitch muscle fibres get tired too quickly because they are used for quick, sharp events such as 100m sprint so this can result in fatigue and therefore can build up lactic acid which will result in cramps (http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/fastandslowtwitch/soleus.shtml) so if we didn t have slow or fast twitch fibres, we wouldn t be able to participate in them type of ... Support Children And Young People Support children and young people to have positive relationships 1.1 Identify the different relationships children and young people may have There are many different relationships that children develop as they grow, babies know that they cry to get attention from their parent for food or just a cuddle this is the beginning of learning to build relationships. Every child and family are different in how they believe relationships should be made and who children are allowed to talk to or be around so everyone is different when it comes to who they trust or get along with. Relationships children and young people may have are: parental, carer, sibling, family, friendship, emotional, acquaintance and professional. 1.2 Explain the importance of positive relationships for development and wellbeing The quality of relationships that we as practitioners have with children and young people has a huge effect on the way in which we can work with them and help them. When children feel comfortable with us they can separate more easily from their parents, they are more likely to participate in the play and learning activities if they are secure emotionally. When children have a strong relationship they are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we can recognise and meet their needs, children s language may develop more quickly as they feel confident talking to us. • 21. The Marketing Plan Of Ebay Essay eBay was founded in Pierre Omidyar s San Jose living room back in September 1995. It was from the start meant to be a marketplace for the sale of goods and services for individuals. In 1998, Pierre and his cofounder Jeff Skoll brought in Meg Whitman to sustain the success. Meg had studied at the Harvard Business School and had learned the importance of branding at companies such as Hasbro. Meg culled her senior staff from companies such as PepsiCo. and Disney, created an experienced management team with an average of 20 years of business experience and built a strong vision for the company that eBay is a company that s in the business of connecting people, not selling them things. They quickly shed the image of only auctioning collectibles and moved into an array of upscale markets where the average sale price (ASP) is higher. ASP is a key metric in determining eBay s transaction fees, so increasing the ASP became an important item. By forging partnerships with name brands such as GM, Disney and Sun, eBay has managed to do exactly that. In addition to its auction style sales, the website has since expanded to include Buy It Now shopping; shopping by UPC , ISBN , or other kind of SKU ,online classified advertisements (via Kijiji or eBay Classifieds); online event ticket trading (via StubHub ); and other services. This is a way to spread the extensive work over a number of years instead of concentrating on one certain year. Many organizations have implemented the system in some form or another and found that it did not work. If properly implemented, however, the process could have a considerable improvement over traditional rolling budgets. The number and nature of decision packages varies from organization to organization; it is not uncommon for large organizations to identify several thousand packages. Furthermore, it is often hard or even impossible for top executives to have the necessary knowledge or time to develop and rank priorities for thousands of packages. To alleviate this problem, managers, after ranking their own packages, can have their top executives rank the packages of all the managers that report to them. This approach is used by one of zero based budgeting s pioneers, Texas Instruments. Another solution is for each level of management to rank a certain percentage of packages within its own area of responsibility. In this solution, the first level of management may rank 40 percent of the proposed packages; the next level may rank the next 40 percent of packages, while top management may concentrate on the remainder of the budget Read more: Zero Based Budgeting strategy, organization, levels, system, ... In principle, Catholic Christians believe that all life is sacred from conception until natural death, and the taking of innocent human life, whether born or unborn, is morally wrong. The Church teaches, Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being ( Donum vitae, 5). The respect for the sacredness of life in the womb originates in Christianity s Jewish roots. The ancient Jewish world was much different from the surrounding cultures of Palestine where infanticide, infant sacrifice and abortion were not uncommon, and in some cases prevalent. For the Jewish people of those times and orthodox Jews to this day, all human life has as its author the one God whose creative power produces the child in the mother s womb and brings it step by step to full life. The Old Testament revelation, which the Church inherited and accepted, gives clear evidence that life in the womb was considered as sacred. On the whole, although the working class was given paid work and took part in organised activities, their situation did not really improve as I will demonstrate in the course of this essay. Although we were assigned with a new territory and a new title yet we haven t stood up on our own. Pakistan is enormously confined within a foreign group of countries. And they manipulate us as they want and we are bound to follow them. A country prospers only when the basic requirements, food, clothes and shelter, are rendered to its citizens. But to do so, first we have to liberate our homeland from foreign affairs. There are a number of factors that are responsible for the downfall of Pakistan. Let s have a look on 10 primary reasons behind the downfall of Pakistan: 1. Poverty Poverty the absence of basic necessities, is the main cause of a number of different problems.
