1. Effective Restoration of
Compromised Teeth
• Endodontically treated teeth, having
insufficient coronal structure are most
commonly restored with post and core.
• Post-core treatment primarily replaces
missing coronal tooth structure sufficiently to
provide adequate retention and resistance for
the crown that will eventually restore the
function and the esthetics of the tooth in
question.

2. Case Report
A 29 year old male patient, came to the
Department of Prosthodontics of MGM Dental
College and Hospital, wanted a cap on root canal
treated tooth.

3. Pre operative condition
Intraoral examination revealed the root canal
treated 14 and 15 with loss of coronal tooth
structure, having silver amalgum filling.

4. Diagnosis and Treatment plan
After clinical examination treatment plan decided
was post and core treatment in 14,15 along with
metal-ceramic crown.
