This document provides an overview of billing and finance activities in the VISION application, including reviewing client balances, invoices, payments, and financial histories. 2. Billing and Finance Module Goals
Welcome to VISION/LIS Training Module 4. This module will focus on billing and
finance activities in the VISION application, which span from reviewing an invoice to
accepting payment for services rendered. In this module, you will explore:
• Client Balance
• Client Financial History
• Patient Financial History
• Invoices
• Bulk/Batch Invoicing
• Payments
• Deposits
• Credits
• Refunds

3. Banner Balance
Once a lab order has been ordered, processed, and results have been returned
to VISION, then the fees for the tests ordered will populate the clients invoice
and reflect on the banner. The banner will display the current balance for the
selected client for the selected patient.

By clicking on the Balance in the banner, a user may navigate to Payment
Financial History.

5. Client Financial History
The Financial History section of VISION can display all current and historical financial
interactions of a client or patient. A user may navigate to Client Financial History from the banner, as was
just demonstrated, or from the Billing Module. Click Billing Module in the left navigation bar, hover the
mouse over Financial History, and then click Client Financial History.

6. Client Financial History
Along the top of the Client Financial History page the client name, ID number,
Outstanding Balance, and Available Deposit amount is displayed. If a user
wishes to view all closed invoices as well, the Include Closed Invoices check
box should be clicked.

7. Client Financial History
The Client Financial History Page displays all open invoices for the client, as
grouped by most recent patient and in reverse chronological order. It also
displays deposit information, if any, for each of the client’s patients.

9. Client Financial History
To select an invoice to review, simply click on the desired blue invoice ID link.
The invoice will open on a new page.

10. Client Financial History
To see detail about payments or deposits for a specific invoice, click the arrow
icon next to the desired invoice ID. A line item will open under the invoice line
and display all available payment or deposit information for that invoice.
