Carbaryl in
1979; MIC is an
intermediate in
carbaryl
manufacture.

3. The Bhopal
disaster took
place in the
early hours of
the morning of
3rd
December,
1984 in the
heart of the
city of Bhopal
in the Indian
state of
Madhya
Pradesh.

4. A Union Carbide
subsidiary
pesticides plant
released 40 tonnes
of methyl
isocynate (MIC)
gas, killing
between 2500 -
5000 people.
