Hewlett–Packard (HP) was founded by William Hewlett and David Packard in a small garage in

Carry On was written by Rainbow Rowell after the success of her book Fangirl –– a novel in which
the main character, Cath, in a fanfiction writer for Simon Snow (the character by which this book

that would later only be finished by some means of writing therapy. This book central theme is of
sacrifice. Each character must sacrifice something within them to boost the plot and find the

One of the most confusing phenomenon to anyone unfamiliar with the American political landscape
is about the "non–politician" or so–called "outsider" who is seeking a political office on the strength
of his inexperience or unfamiliarity with the political process. The public likes the idea of someone
who is an outsider to politics, who will come in and "straighten" out all the 'mess' the career
politicians have made. Most people running for an office for the first time (whether new to politics
or not) know this and are astute enough to paint themselves as "new", "fresh", 'outsider" etc.
But how do you seek an office that you know little or nothing about? In general, you can hardly ...
The Republican base wants "new" blood, "outsiders," to represent them in the upcoming election
primarily because they feel they've been lied to. While that may be true, it does not exonerate them
from their complicit credulity. It is indeed ironic that while they are reacting out of a sense of

Abstract
How was CEO Kasper Rorsted able to transform an underperforming consumer goods company into
a great one? What methods and techniques did he use to help motivate his employees? What is the
"winning culture" all about? Could the agenda that Rorsted put before his company be implemented
at other large multinational corporations? I will attempt in this paper to answer these questions and
more as I dig into the life of Kasper Rorsted and his transformation of Henkel.
When Kasper Rorsted joined Henkel in 2005, it was with the understanding that he would
eventually replace current CEO, Ulrich Lehner. The process was a three year journey that would
prepare Rorsted to assume the reigns of a floundering consumer goods and cosmetics company.
Rorsted was 43 years old at the time and did not have expertise in the fields of chemicals or
cosmetics. Henkel's headquarters are in Germany, but Rorsted is not German. As a matter of fact,
when Rorsted became CEO of Henkel in 2008– three years after he was hired– he became the
company's first CEO who was not born in either Germany or its neighboring country of Austria

The Lord of the Flies written by William Golding is a popular novel that deals with many themes.
The theme I will talk about is how humans and human nature can easily be corrupted by
surrounding influences and themselves. Simon is corrupted by the natural environment and the

there seemed to be no checks and balances to control Robert Rizzo and other city officials.
Furthermore, they gradually eliminated any controls that were place were, eventually earning
absolute control (Goffard, 2010, para. 46–47). This behavior extended to individuals as Rizzo built a
city staff that would go along with his corruption (para. 39). However, I do think Rizzo influenced

The only thing that disturbed me in my opinion was the latter half of the movie, where it goes
through an enormous time skip and tries to take itself seriously, which in my opinion changed the
pacing drastically. The latter half also takes place after the death of the Spiral King and explains

this show was providing and just gave me a "what happened?" type of vibe. This really dragged

The first problem that I noticed when I read the case was the fact it mentioned that HP was under

It would appear that HP made the right decision by bringing on Mark Hurd as its new Chief
Executive Officer. He was brought in to correct a lot of the management deficiencies that Carly
Fiorina left behind. Mark Hurd brought with him a focus on execution and he began working from
the bottom up. I think that his method was needed at that time because it works well when dealing
with a vertical management structure. All levels must feel important and involved in making the

Clara Schumann A modern artist named Carly Simon once said "A really strong woman accepts the
war she went through and is ennobled by her scars" (Brainyguote, 1). This is a great description of
the strong and talented Clara Schumann. Her story is full of achievements, love and tragedy and
throughout all of it she carries herself with poise and strength that really is not seen much in the
present generations. Although Clara Schumann accepted her war and came out proud and confident
in herself and her success. This talented composer was born in Leipzig on September 13, 1819 to her
parents Friedrich and Marianne Wieck. Her mother was a very talented singer and pianist and her
father, though he studied Theology in school, was also a great pianist and musical teacher. Friedrich
was a very prideful man. He pushed his wife and daughter to succeed with the zealous attempt to
receive musically inclined high stature from their work and to gain more attention towards his
teaching abilities. This Dangerous desire for fame and recognition soon led to Marianne's
resentment towards him and progressed to a divorce when Clara was only five years old (Mitchell,
1). With Clara left to be raised by her father she was introduced to music rather early on. Friedrich,

depth to the texts' meanings resulting in a heightened experience and a more significant

Both the two texts follow the 'The Hero's Journey' story structure (also known as a monomyth),
featuring the distinct departure, initiation and return phases and many of the twelve steps associated,
thereby establishing an intertextual link. Both main characters embark on a journey, witness the
death of a significant role model, mature as they encounter various trials and triumph over their
enemies, transforming into adults throughout the process. The Lion King's story of Simba's rise to
succeed his father as king reflects western attitudes towards growing up and how maturing from a
child into an adult is perceived: meeting the expectations of family and society, and accepting the
responsibilities associated with adulthood. Unlike The Lion King where the film ends when the
protagonist, Simba, has matured into an adult, Gurren Lagann follows its protagonist, Simon,

As the world begins to change, organizations must follow suit. "Each generation brings new
technology and challenges" (Wienolaw, 2015). It's important that organizations adapt and change, to
meet the needs and demands of the marketplace. Change within any organization can strike fear and
can extremely incredible to deal with. Organizations must create culture that is beneficial to their
people and their brand. Organizational changes can range from simple to more obvious ones.

McDonalds is a well–established brand, which become accustomed to the typical way of doing
business. They refused notice the change of trends that surrounded them. As the time changes, the
consumers will change and that is one mindset that they did not have. Instead, McDonalds failed to
adapt to the evolution of the fast–food industry. Even when things are looking good, preparing for
the future is very important.
The third significant error that was made in all of the change stories, related to Kotter's model was
failing to communicate the vision. Kotter's model states to make sure staff members understand and
accept the vision (pg.5). Change can be a difficult task if everyone is not on board. Communication
was the biggest error in all of the change stories. It's important that change is addressed in a manner
that allows employees to be somewhat knowledgeable of what is going on. For example, Carly
Fiorina attempt to restructuring the company was great but her peers felt like she lacked
communication. It was difficult for her to communicate the company's vision for the future.
Make at least one (1) recommendation for each change story that would have improved the
effectiveness of the change process and explain why that recommendation would have altered the
outcome of the change process.

My Commentary: I had pity for both Morgan and Kiki during this period. Morgan was making
strides, and the chain of events that led to him losing Kiki and his life wouldn 't have happened if it
weren 't for Ava stealing his meds. It was heartbreaking to hear how confused and disenchanted he

Nonetheless, excellent performances ensued, naturally (shout–out to Dominic Zamprogna, A.K.A.
Dante). My personal favorites were from West and Wright. Ava 's tortured breakdown on 10/11 after
