This document discusses the importance of quality in education. It summarizes a story told by a Sphinx about different perspectives on the secret of success, including attitude, aim, restraint, training, hard work, and ability. However, the Sphinx points out that quality is the most essential aspect. The World Council aims to promote total quality education as a systematic approach that provides holistic development and empowers individuals to continuously improve themselves and their processes through excellence. Quality is presented as an integral and continuous process rather than a fixed point.

6. Let me elaborate my point further by sharing with you all a short story. EGYPT– as you all know is famous for it’s PYRAMIDS . Just outside the Pyramids is a huge statue with a Human Head and a Lion’s Body called the SPHINX…
7. According to a famous legend the Sphinx speaks only once in a lifetime….
8. When it last spoke, it raised this query …?? Can any of you tell me what is the secret of success?? Can any of you tell me what is the secret of success??
9. A boatman who was crossing the river Nile along side the pyramid replied loudly …. ATTITUDE And he elaborated on this further while rowing his boat …
10. …..Wise men say that if you begin with a right ATTITUDE, the work is already half done. So no doubt ATTITUDE is indeed the key to success.
11. An arrow on the target said ….. Nothing else, just the right AIM in life is the secret of success. If we do not have an aim, we can’t achieve our target.
12. The river Nile flowing silently by had seen the ups and downs of many civilizations. ..she thought to herself who could know better than me what the secret of success is……! She said : RESTRAINT is the secret of success. What am I…? A mass of water! Had it not been for the restraints of the banks on either side …I would have never got my direction and momentum to move forward….”
13. A hammer which was lying in the boat on the river Nile felt neglected as nobody had asked for its opinion….!TRAINING he exclaimed loudly is the secret of success…..!! “Even a small nail cannot be fixed into this boat or a wall unless you know how to fix it ….??? So according to me TRAINING is the secret of success.
14. The Oar which was being plied by the boatman was listening silently all along and he commented… HARD WORK ! Only Hard work is the secret to success ..If I do not ply hard enough, the boat will never succeed in crossing the river Nile”.
15. Last but not the least an empty bottle lying on the bank of river interrupted …. “In my opinion, the Ability to stick to something is the true secret of success.”
16. The Sphinx had no more patience to listen to these diverse opinions. It opened its mouth once again to say : You are all partly right ..!! But my dear friends none of you mentioned the most essential word QUALITY and it went dormant for centuries again.
17. As the wise Sphinx pointed out the watchword of Success isQuality. Q
18. We need to have Attitudebut added with QUALITY otherwise our attitude will lead us nowhere. For example, without a “Quality Attitude” we can foster any thought as our Attitude and ultimately find ourselves really far from success…..!!! We need to have the right VISION………!!!!
19. We can have the BEST ABILITYbutwithoutQualitative Abilitywe canget no benefit out of it.
20. Many people work hard but without any proper orientation… so they all fail…..!!! However best your training may have been…without the utilization of QUALITY we can never soar to greater heights.
21. The World Council wishes to promote Total Quality Education (TQE) as a Systematic & Innovative approach to institutions of learning - in a manner that provides opportunities for Holistic Development of the child .
