About AIIMS • The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMSs) are a group of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education. • From the next academic session 2013–14, the total number of MBBS seats in the new AIIMS would go up to 600, providing an opportunity to an additional 300 MBBS aspirants.

- 6. ABOUT AFMC • The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical college in India. It is located in Pune Cantonment in Pune in the state of Maharashtra. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces.

These are primarily training of medical undergraduates and post- graduates, dental postgraduates, nursing cadets and paramedical staff. • The institution is responsible for providing the entire pool of specialists and super specialists to Armed Forces by giving them in service training.

- 9. ABOUT JIPMER • The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is one of the top five medical schools in India. It is located at Pondicherry, the capital of the union territory of Puducherry, in southern India on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. • JIPMER is both an educational institute that imparts undergraduate and postgraduate medical training and a working hospital that provides inexpensive medical care to a large number of patients.
- 10. ABOUT JIPMER • JIPMER is a residential medical institution with its own campus spread over 195 acres . • It has about 200 faculty and 360 resident physicians and over 3,000 nursing, administrative and support staff. Every year it admits 100 undergraduate students and 75 postgraduate students.
