3. The MAST Americas Concept
The foremost international maritime
conference and exposition where global
leaders gather to share maritime
security concepts, capabilities, and
enabling technologies
MAST Americas 2010 will be the first conference and exposition
in the renowned MAST event series to take place in the
Washington DC, USA area and is proudly co-sponsored by the
US Navy (via NAVSEA/NUWC).
MAST events unite the major shareholders of global maritime
security and defense to discuss and debate future maritime
capability requirements and concepts, and explore the full
range of future (and state-of-the-art) enabling technologies.
MAST Americas is organized by a distinguished committee of
respected decision-makers from government, industry and
R&D/academia.
MAST Americas will deliver a much needed bi-ennial North
American event at which: 1) key security and defense issues
are tackled by the authorities and innovators in surface,
undersea and integrated systems environments; 2)
operational leaders present users’ perspectives 3) enabling
technologies are presented by international suppliers.
MAST Americas will spotlight an unprecedented breadth of
maritime security and defense topics and technology (from
operational/policy-forming and technological standpoints),
and engage an audience as diverse as now expected of the MAST
brand....
...The MAST-coined “three-tier audience” comprises decision-
makers responsible for the formulation, development and
implementation of policies, strategies and plans; and those
who research, produce, evaluate, procure and the operators
that deploy the game-changing technologies.
The first bi-ennial MAST Americas conference and exposition
will take place at The Hyatt Regency Crystal City, Washington,
DC between Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th June 2010.

policy and technical leaders (e.g. Flag and General officers, and
civilian equivalents) exchange perspectives on future capabilities
and concepts requirements, with the global maritime - surface,
undersea, and integrated systems - security and defence community.
MAST Americas 2010 will feature keynote addresses (including
already invited Admiral Gary Roughead, Chief of Naval
Operations, USN) plenary sessions and parallel sessions
presenting operational and technical discussions on MAST’s
established themes/topics: Maritime Security, Operations &
Capabilities, Platforms, Systems, Technologies.

7. Sponsorship packages
Why sponsor MAST?
MAST’s organiser is committed to exceeding the value
expectations of all participants, whatever their status or level of
‘investment’ in the event.
No aspect of this challenge is greater than ensuring substantial ROI
from the exposition to MAST’s wide-range of exhibitors, with distinct
and diverse needs (start-ups/innovators/SME’s, R&D/academic
institutions, government labs, associations, media and of course the
major defence and security manufacturers and suppliers).
Therefore, every MAST marketing campaign aims to be both extensive
(the value of the “marketing mix” spend totals approximately half a
Happy hours million dollars/annum) and inclusive (showcasing the broad scope
of all exhibitors’ and authors’ activities as extensively as possible).
As MAST moves from country-to-country, the host nation’s
navy/ministry of defence, government and civil security agencies
spotlight its core capabilities, policies, and plans within MAST’s
established overarching theme: “Global maritime cooperation
for security and defence”. This creates the perfect promotional
platform for commercial organisations to showcase future and state-
of-the-art platforms, systems, products and services.
Sponsorships offer organisations highly visible association with
the values and intentions of MAST, its endorsing agencies,
VIP luncheon Delegate bag partners and industry sectors at every promotional stage prior to
the event, and most prominently at the event itself.
Ideal for corporate level marketing (capitalising upon the far
more prominent promotion it affords companies), sponsorships
are equally effectively used to promote specific divisions,
product ranges and/or services.
With an increasing number of cross-border program, sponsors
need not be indigenous (Thales Group, “Diamond” sponsor of
MAST 2006 in their home of France, also secured “Silver” sponsor
status for both MAST 2007 and MAST 2008 events) however a
closer alignment with the endorsing agency/agencies, increases
