21. Can the idea be local only or must it be regional?
It can be either. The idea has to be compelling enough even if its
only within the country
Which of the 7 areas of innovation interest Maybank
the most?
The areas are not sorted in any order but having said that,
payments, digital & mobile & channels would be the hot areas
Will Maybank own the IP of the idea?
The adoption model has an investment component, Maybank will
only take equity in your company if we invest in it
Which stage of startups are you looking for?
Early stage onwards. We are keeping this open to have more of
you participate

22. Is there a limit to the number of ideas I can submit?
No. Submit as many you want but each idea should be a
separate pitch video.
What should be on the pitch?
Record yourself, not a powerpoint presentation. Sell it to us and
remember its not just about the idea – its why you are the best to
execute it.
Will I need to have an actual prototype by demo day?
Not necessarily but it will certainly help a whole lot if you had
one.
How long is adoption?
Adoption period will be customized based on the startup. It will
be unique for each but can be 3 months or more where you may
have to travel to KL occasionally.

23. Bootcamp & Demo Day: What are the logistics?
Flight tickets & accommodation (1 room) is provided for 2 people
from 13th June till 16th June. This is only applicable for those
outside KL and within South East Asia. PLEASE ensure you have
valid travel documents ASAP if relevant.
What will happen during Bootcamp?
It’s a 3 day session where you will cover customer development,
product development & go-to market to refine your ideas further
before demo day.
Bootcamp & Demo Day: How about meals?
Meals will be on your own expense.
Will there be a winner and prize money on demo day?
#MaybankFintech is not a prize money competition. There will be
no winners or prize money but rather all 20 will demo their ideas
to VC’s and key stakeholders in Maybank for a chance to be
adopted.
