Sports and games are all usually forms
of competitive physical activity which
,through casual or organized
participation , aim to use ,maintain or
improve physical ability and skills while
providing enjoyments to participants
and entertainment for spectators.

Sports and games improve our
capability . They improve our efficiency
either study or work alone makes us
exhaust. We remain no longer efficient
to any work. Sports remove our mental
exhaustion. Sports are integral part of
education.

Games involve the collective responsibility of a team . Game based on mental
strength. Game relies on strategy. Game is an activity where the entire
performance of the players that determines the winner . A person who
participates in a game is known as player.

Sport involves individual skills . Sport is based on physical energy.
Sport is based on individual performances and luck. Sport is an activity or
activities where the material capabilities of the sportsperson are looked upon.
A person participating in a sport is called as athlete or a sports person.

The Board has a General Body, with its Headquarters at Islamabad. The
Board consists of 37 members. It lays down the policy and 16 members
Executive Committee implements this policy.

12. Hockey
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is the national governing body of field
hockey in Pakistan. The Pakistan
Hockey Federation Women Wing (PHFWW) is the official organization of wom
en's field hockey in Pakistan. The
Pakistan national field hockey team has won 3 gold medals at the Olympic Ga
mes, and lifted the Hockey World
Cup 4 times, a World Record. It has also won the most number of Asian gold
medals, and is the only Asian team to
have won the prestigious Champions Trophy with 3 titles. It has been consiste
ntly ranked amongst the top teams in the world.

Hockey is the national game of Pakistan. The problem is that Government
is not paying attention towards it. the funding is limited. no proper
grounds and practicing areas are available. Beside all this, after the
Olympics and Asian games, the hockey federation is paying keen attention
towards the performance and hence we can say the future of hockey is
bright. Pakistan is put to launch its own pro hockey league in November.
14. Football
Football is the most favorite game of the masses, particularly the poor.
Unfortunately, Government is not serious to support footballers. How can
we forget the performance of mere street players of Liyaari, who were too
passionate to perform internationally that they pathetically travelled
through charity. They surprised international stars and got fame
throughout the world. Pakistani female football team is very talented and
they are becoming popular throughout the nation due to their
professional talent. Syeda Mahpara Shahid is the notable player.
Now football team consisted on 6 players introduce in the world.
15. Football is on the rise in Pakistan. There is a large following for the English
Premier League. Pakistan is also known as the biggest producer of
footballs in the world.

16. Squash
Squash is a racket sport played by two (singles) or four players (doubles) in
a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The players must
alternate in striking the ball with their racket and hit the ball onto the
playable surfaces of the four walls of the court.
The governing body of Squash, the World Squash Federation is recognized
by the International Olympic Committee, but the sport is not part of the
Olympic Games, despite a number of applications. Supporters continue to
lobby for its incorporation in a future Olympic program.

Pakistan Squash team is participating in the 18th Asian Junior Team
Squash Championship scheduled to be held at Hong Kong from 1st to 5th
February, 2017.
18. Kabbadi
Kabaddi is basically the local sports of Indo-Pak. It is now played all over
the world but there is no match of Pakistani players in this context. India is
trying to make kabbadi a part of Olympic games but no participation is
shown from Pakistan’s side. Hopefully if it happens to become an Olympic
game then Pakistani Punjab will produce champions.
19. Taekwondo
It is a Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head-height
kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

Pakistan Taekwondo team is participating in the 2017 US Open Taekwondo
Championship scheduled to be held in USA from 31st January to 3rd
February, 2017.
Pakistan Taekwondo team is participating in the 5th Fujairah Open
International Taekwondo Championship scheduled to be held at Fujairah,
UAE from 23rd to 25th February, 2017.
21. Handball
Handball was first introduce by Mr. Muhammad Shafiq in 1984. There was no
platform for this game. Pakistan Handball Federation not only organizes
National and International events of this game but also conducts International
and Olympic solidarity referees and coaches.
Pakistan Handball team is participating in the International Beach Handball
Tournament scheduled to be held at Dubai, UAE from 22nd to 26th
February, 2017.
22. Sailing
Sailing is a water sport which involves the movement of a boat across a body
of water using wind as the only source of power.
Sailing competitions are conducted in accordance with the rules of the
International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and the technical code of the Asian
Sailing Federation.
Pakistan Sailing team is participating in the 25th Sail the Gulf 2017 scheduled
to be held in at Doha, Qatar from 31st January to 4th February, 2017.
23. CHESS
In Pakistan, chess is played throughout the country, mostly in Moghul style
which is slightly different from the international style. But the Chess
Federation of Pakistan (CFP) organizes its tournaments in international style
and according to the established rules. The FIDE has awarded the
International Master title to Shahzad Mirza and Mahmood Lodhi.

World Chess Federation has awarded it the following titles :
•Diploma of achievement to Chess Federation of Pakistan in 1986
•International Master's Title to Shahzad Mirza in 1984
•International Arbiter's Title to S.P.Jamal and Shah Nawaz Khan
Performance in International Events:
In 1969 in Istanbul (Turkey) Pakistan won the first RCD Chess
Championship.
25. Conclusion
Future always depends upon the past as the history repeats itself but the
circumstances are not so much positive for the sports in our country .
Overall the situation is getting positively changed. I am hopefully about
the bright future of sports in Pakistan due to earlier mentioned reasons.
No doubt the talent is at its peak in Pakistan, it only needs attention,
appreciation and financial support. Our youth needs to be economically
strong so that they can pay their positive attention towards healthy sports.
This is a practical way to encounter terrorism. I welcome you all to take
