I have been looking into facts on the culture of ancient Africa. I found that ancient Africa have a rich and interesting culture. They don’t write down their history they sing it during festivals, funerals and to chiefs. Ancient Africa always has gold to trade. They trade gold for elephant tusks jewelry and necklaces that tell your age, your job, your favorite hobbies etc.
The Africans use instruments for festivals new jobs and funerals. Most African instruments are made from animal skins, trees and string. They use tree drums, armpit drums, the lute, sanza and the djemba drums. Learning how to use these instruments is very important and has to be taught to little boys and girls. When these instruments are played in festivals etc people join in and sing to their ancestors.
All Africans perform and join festivals for new jobs, funerals and work. They perform in competitions and sing for their ancestors. They have sung and told stories for thousands of years. Dance and singing is something all Africans learn. Most performances are about something they have written and so the performance makes the writing come to life.
Many African people use paintings, carvings and sculptures to represent their culture and life style. African’s often found masks or carvings on rocks from different villages that represented their life style. When there were war’s against Africa they would use red and orange face paint to show they are warriors or innocent.
Sport in Africa was something all boys had to learn. It was part of their religion and was very important. African’s did wrestling for competitions and to show how tough they were. They also did racing and dancing. Women and girls did the dancing and the men did the wrestling and racing. The boys watched so when they were men they would do the same.
African’s did not write down their culture and religion they snag and shared it orally. They sang their culture and religion on certain occasions such as, funerals, new jobs, for chiefs and festivals. From Ancient Africa to now they have been increasing the amount of colleges so that boys and girls living in Africa can learn.
Culture helped Ancient Africa by making more activity for kids and adults that helped them enjoy their life. It helps them be more creative and show their thoughts and beliefs through music and art. They are able to sing to their gods and ancestors.
I have learnt that African people orally sang their religion and beliefs instead of writing them.I have learnt about Africa itself because I have never researched Africa or cities in Africa.African culture might have influenced other people or countries by their dance, religion and maybe art. People might add to their dances and art or make new music up by listening or looking at their culture.
