1. Survey Report
For our class’s PBL based on ‘Health is Wealth’, we did a survey on the
importance of breakfast. We chose 20 students of Form 1 and Form 2 from both day
scholars and hostel students to answer some questions. The survey was mainly on
breakfast.
The first question was ‘Do you take breakfast?’ Almost half of the students do not
take breakfast in the morning. A lot of reasons were given such as they will get
stomachaches; they will feel sleepy in class or feel tired.
The second question was ‘What do you take for breakfast?’ We gave 5 choices
which is bread, cornflakes, oats, crackers and plain water. ¾ of the students eat bread for
their breakfast and some of them also drink plain water. They also eat cornflakes in the
morning. There are 0 percentages of students that take oats and crackers in the morning.
Moreover, the third question was ‘Do you think breakfast is important?’ Less than
half of them answered ‘Yes’. Sadly, more than half of them answered ‘No’
Fourthly, the question was ‘What are the implications if you do not take
breakfast?’ A huge amount of them usually have gastric. More than half of them feel
weak and less than a quarter of them feels dizzy. However, a quarter of them have no
implications if they do not take breakfast.
Next, the last question was ‘What is your idea of a healthy breakfast?’ Half of
them have chosen fruits and milk, while more than half of them have chosen cookies and
Milo. Whereas, less than half of them feel that tuna sandwich and ice the C are healthy
breakfasts, more than a quarter of them chose oat and milk as their healthy breakfast.
In conclusion, this survey has given us the opportunity to see how other people
take their breakfasts and whether breakfast is important in their life.
