This document contains instructions for a speaking assignment asking the student to: 1) Create a one-page outline for an informative speech about why they chose to attend a community college this semester. 2) Write a full paragraph introduction for a speech advising 8th graders on how to succeed in high school. They must identify the elements of an effective introduction. 3) Discuss an example of a real-world speaker who violated an ethical standard and what standard was broken. 4) Describe a reason for communication apprehension from the textbook and a tactic used to overcome it, explaining how it was successful or what was learned.
