SPA

where since medieval times illnesses caused by iron deficiency
were treated by drinking chalybeate (iron bearing) spring water.
Spa is used to give medicinal baths , spa typically offers various
health treatments such as Aromatherapy , Bathings , Hot spring ,

MASSAGE ROOM
● Creating a tranquil, relaxed and safe environment is one
of the ways massage therapists help their clients. It is
hard to relax in a massage room that is uncomfortable,
lessening the effectiveness of the massage itself.
● A well-designed massage room helps your client relax
and helps you do your job more effectively.
● SPACE FOR MASSAGE ROOM
If your clients are coming to your room for a massage,
make sure the room features enough storage space for
linens, equipment and supplies. Some storage can be
placed outside the room to save space inside, such as
the bulk of your clean linens, larger equipment and bulk
lotion and oils. At the minimum you need shelves inside
the room that can accommodate the products and
equipment that you will need within reach during an
individual session.

YOGA HALL
● A yoga room design will take into account the ambiance of the energy, the energy, and vibes it reflects, the
acoustics as well the structure of the room.
● The yoga trainer is on an elevated platform so that even people at the back can see the asana clearly. You need
to factor in that space in the plan as well. Along with this, you need to add the space that will be taken up by any
racks or shelves in the room for keeping the mats, water bottles, towels, or any other belongings like shoes of the
attendees.

SAUNA BATH
● A sauna bath is a small room designed as a place to
experience dry heat sessions.
● Saunas can be used as a means of calming the body and
relieving it of stress. If you suffer from insomnia (one out
three people have a mild case), it can also help induce
sleep.
● The heat from the sauna helps the body release
endorphins, a feel-good chemical that reduces the effects of
stress on the body which can relax you enough to sleep
better.
● A traditional sauna provides dry heat. Depending on the
sauna you use, you might experience moisture as low as 10
percent or as high as 60 percent. The amount of moisture
you experience is often dependent on the sauna style you
choose.

STEAM BATH
● Steam rooms are much similar to the saunas ,The
difference between a sauna and a steam room can
be summed up simply — dry vs. wet. Saunas
provide dry heat, while steam rooms generate
moist heat.
● Steam rooms create very good respiratory
conditions with the humidity level at 100%. People
with coughs and lung problems sometimes use a
steam room to soothe their respiratory systems.
● steam rooms aren’t as hot as saunas, and they’re
much more humid. Typically, steam rooms are
heated between 100 and 120°F and have nearly
100 percent humidity
● The steam room also increases metabolism and
can aid with weight loss. The steam room causes
you to sweat, which means that your body is
losing water. The sweat also helps to remove
toxins and cleanses the body.

STEAM BATH
GENERAL PLANNING FOR STEAM BATH ROOMS

well-ventilated room or separate facility.
● Walls and ceiling of the room may be built
of bricks with ceramic tiles finishing ,
other materials like stone ,fiberglass ,
acrylic , glass etc may also be used.
● Floor drain and a slight slope should exist.
● Steam bath size should be calculated as
follows: there should be 2–3 m³ of sauna
capacity for each person. It’s height
should be minimum of 2m .
● The electrical devices like steam
generator should be outside the steam
room at a distance of maximum of 6 m.
