3. Pyramids
Pyramids where the tomb of Pharaohs and later
to be tombs for almost everyone.
Pyramids where made from large stone blocks
and where holding the mummified body and
riches of the dead person.
Pyramids where four sided and
usually the entrance was off the
ground.
4. Pharaohs
Pharaohs where the rulers in ancient Egypt
there word was the law and they were
considered a god among men.
Pharaohs where the only people that had a
pyramid as a tomb.
Pharaohs also started planning burials as soon
as they became the ruler!
5. Scarab
Scarab where the Beetle that ancient Egyptians
worshipped and they even put a Scarab amulet
in the wrappings of the mummies.
They were usually gold, silver and sometimes
with some bits made gems.
6. Foods
The ancient Egyptians ate bread and drank beer but
some rich Egyptians ate meat that was quite rare
for poorer families.
The Beer was made out of fermented Barley Bread.
An Average Would of consisted of some of the
following: Bread, Salad of Lettuce, Cucumber, Onion
and Radish, A small piece of fish, duck or
chicken, Grape Juice, Grapes, Dates Figs and
Pomegranate
Richer People had cakes one was called Shat which
was made from dates and honey and was baked in
a triangular shape.
7. Papyrus
Papyrus was a reed that was used to make paper
by the ancient Egyptians the Scribes (People
who wrote about things) used it to write on.
Papyrus is a reed that was found around the Nile
the finished product of paper might have looked
a little something like this…
8. Nile
The Nile was the source of crops for the ancient
Egyptians the Nile would flood every year
providing the Black Land. The Black land is
where the farmers lived it was silt left by the
flood that could sustain the crops.
9. Red land
The Red land surrounded Egypt and was a
defence to invading armies it also provided
minerals and was a way of trading. They were
protected from invading armies because of the
fact it is a barren wasteland that was hot and
dry.
10. Anubis
Anubis is the god of embalming and was worn
as a mask during mummification his appearance
is a man with the head of a jackal. He is one of
the more “know” gods of ancient Egypt. He was
also written about in hieroglyphs a lot.
