The first thing that I want to do is to thank all you
Thank you for taking time from your day to join us on this webcast
And thank you for being an IHS customer; nearly 500 of you have are participating in todays presentation; your interest in IHS and the value of our offerings is greatly appreciated.

IHS has been in the standards business for more than 40 years, and we are fortunate that most of you have been our customers for many of these years.
In total you comprise over 600,000 users from around the globe who use the IHS platform to access their standards collections each and every day.
And we’re also very fortunate that as an active base you provide to us feedback in our Customers Firsts surveys that go out every year to every customer, and to every user.
You have used the surveys to tell us what we have been doing right
– and where we have an opportunity to deliver more value to you.
And this opportunity to deliver more value is the reason behind today’s webcast.
And very shortly we’ll show you a demo which I hope you’ll be as excited about as we are.

Having that connection to our customers,
and getting feedback from thousands of you every year, has helped us to understand how you use our solutions,
and the value you receive.
You’ve also shared with us what your life was like before IHS.
You’ve told us that the job of managing standards without IHS was a very manual, very time-consuming process.
Our customers have said that without IHS this process costs resources, wastes time, causes delays and creates risk.
As an engineer this had meant you did less analysis prior to making the decisions critical to the tasks at hand.

So,
by compressing the time needed to gather data
you have more time to spend analyzing the information.
You spend less time managing data,
and more time applying the knowledge,
which is where you, as technical professionals, can add the most value for your organizations
– by making better decisions
faster.

Some of the comments you’ve had for us are:
QUOTE “IHS has freed up time that our engineers can use on high-value activities.
Which is critical to driving efficiency and productivity.“
QUOTE “The instant access to standards provided by IHS ... saves money. It helps us avoid delays, improves safety and reduces risk.“
QUOTE “IHS’ intuitive platform enables us to drive a whole new level of efficiency.
More importantly, it allows us to respond with greater speed to customer inquiries."
So that’s some of the areas where you’ve told us that we are doing well.

In addition, we have indexed a vast set of premium content from IHS and other third parties, including technical articles, scholarly publications, conference reports, design principles, industry best practices, and much more.
Much of this content is not even discoverable through internet search engines, and the IHS solution is the only way to perform a federated search across this collection of documents.
We’ll see the extent of this content in the demo
But just so you have an idea, the IHS materials include global chemical data from IHS Chemical, worldwide environmental regulations from IHS EIATRACK, engineering design methods from IHS ESDU, and extensive content from IHS Janes.
The third-party content that we have indexed includes documents from sources like the American Nuclear Society, ASM International, American Society of Quality, ASTM International, the Institute of Physics, IEEE, OnePetro, PubMed and SAE International, along with many others.
By indexing all this content, you now have one place to conduct federated searches across all these sources, and the ability to “single click” through to content that you subscribe to even though that content may reside on another platform.

Now, we understand that there is going to be a general body of knowledge that is common to all industries and engineering disciplines.
But there also is going to be content that is applicable to specific sectors or specific fields within engineering.
Therefore, our specialists have compiled sets of books and manuals and other content that are critical to the respective industries or disciplines.
This lets you be sure that you are getting the deep content that meets your specific reference requirements.

We’re going to get into the demo momentarily, but I wanted to give you a quick preview of what you’re going to see.
The starting point is IHS Standards Expert, which you all are very familiar with.
We see that this individual has come in and done what our users most often do, which is search for a document by its number, in this case the ASTM G116, which describes the standard practice for conducting wire-on-bolt testing for atmospheric galvanic corrosion.
[click]
Now this screen shows what the upgraded platform looks like.
The user has done the same search, but in the upgraded platform the user is now provided a window into additional reference materials relating to the subject matter in the standard, or in this case, atmospheric galvanic corrosion.
So an engineer coming into Standards Expert to retrieve the G116, for example, to uncover preventative measures, can now take advantage of the additional relevant information.
[click]
And you have the ability to click through directly into this enhanced search capability, to have a conversation with this data, to discover the answers needed to solve the problem they’re trying to solve related galvanic corrosion problem.
So with this upgraded platform, we enable the engineer to go from a simple retrieval of a known document to the discovery of a broader range of answers they can use in their projects.
So with that very brief, simplified introduction, what we’d like to now is move into the demo.
To get that started, I’m going to turn it back over to our moderator.

Thanks Bao for the terrific demo.
During the demo you got to see the breadth of content that is available through the IHS Knowledge Collections, and the enhanced search capability that allows you to pinpoint answers within this wealth of content.
You hopefully were also able to get a sense of the publishers that IHS has partnered with to bring you this authoritative engineering and technical content.
It would be impossible to list off all the thousands of titles in the Knowledge Collections, but we did want to just highlight a number of our partners.
Many of them publish content specific to a certain industry, while others, like McGraw-Hill, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, and Springer, and others provide titles that apply to many different industries and engineering disciplines.

Finally, we wanted to provide a quick overview of how we have packaged all this content and how you can get access to it. As we said, it starts with the IHS Standards Expert platform that you are already accustomed to.

The upgrade is completely optional, and comes with additional cost. The cost is dependent upon your organization’s configuration.
But as introduced, this optional upgrade has both a technical and a content component.
It first starts with the search technology that you just saw in the demo, and along this enhanced retrieval capability, comes a collection of engineering and technical content that is broadly applicable across different engineering disciplines and projects. This base is called Knowledge Pro.
Knowledge Pro provides will give you access to hundreds of Applied Engineering Reference titles – handbooks, manuals, dictionaries and so on – as well as the 43 million patents and patent applications, as well as the indexes to IHS and third party content sites.

This Knowledge Pro based can be built upon as well to meet the needs of your organization. Our team has assembled specialized add-on collections based on the needs of industry sector and specific engineering disciplines. These Industry and Discipline Knowledge Collections are incremental to Knowledge Pro and provide you with content that addresses your particular requirements.
And, finally, if needed our product specialists can collaborate with you to create a custom collection, too, when you have needs that are outside the pre-selected configurations.
For all of the above, to understand pricing, your options, and what is knowledge collections best complements your existing standards subscription, please contact your IHS account manger who’ll partner with you to get the answers that best meet the needs of your organizations.
