Waterdrop
the story of a waterdrop
This book is the common product of the
students and the teachers participating
in POWER OF WATER eTwinning project.
February, 2022
Little Waterdrop woke up on a leaf in the morning. She was round and shiny
like a pearl. She felt sleepy and almost fell.
Despite the bright sun, she looked around excitedly. It was a mountain slope
covered with colorful flowers and a magnificent view. As she was looking
around in admiration, she heard a noise.
It was the voice of Leo, the lion. Little Waterdrop was very
frightened and hid under a colorful leaf. She saw the lion
walking towards her. The drop was desperate but the lion did
not notice her while he was looking for something to eat.
Leo seemed hungry and thirsty. Little Waterdrop thought it
best to sit under the leaf when she suddenly began to slide
down to the ground. Leo heard the noise and turned back.
'Who are you?', asked Leo. 'I am so thirsty! You are exactly
what I needed! Come here!'
'I am a drop of water! I have started my journey around
the world and I want to see oceans, seas, rivers, waterfalls.
Please don't drink me! Wait and I'll be back with my
brothers and sisters !!!'
Most of the time the Little Waterdrop was cheerful because she was useful for animals
and humans. But sometimes she was sad because people wasted it.
'A drop of water, you say? Interesting ... So you want to travel around the world? And if I
want to be with you, how can I do that? After all, I am not a drop of water.'
Little Waterdrop told Leo that he could accompany her on her adventure if he wished.
The lion was very surprised at first.
'How could that be?', he asked. The water drop asked the lion to close his eyes and sleep.
Thus, they began their dream adventure together.
Leo woke up in the middle of a savannah and started
running towards a grove of trees. Little Waterdrop hung
happily from his eyelashes. They soon came to a large
lake.
Leo and the Waterdrop played and swam with other
Waterdrops in the lake. Then they saw that a river was
flowing from the lake. Where could it run?
The river reached the great ocean. Little Waterdrop felt
very emotional.
'Finally. I can meet more brothers and sisters in that big water. I have always wanted to
be there and feel like part of the biggest water in the world. Leo, my dear friend, I have
to leave you now ', said Little Waterdrop kindly.
A tear appeared in the lion's eyes and flowed into the great ocean.
'This little piece of my soul will travel with you, my dear friend!', said the lion. 'Have a
nice trip! I'm waiting for you to come back to me with the rain! '
The drop of water
became braver
than ever and
entered the
largest water in
the world.
'Hi little one! I'm glad that I am the first child who can talk with a beautiful drop
of water. You are so tiny and shiny!, the little girl said .
'I may be tiny, but in fact I am very strong and important. I can mould rocks as I
want and people could not live without me', answered the drop of water. 'You know,
they use my relatives to wash, to drink, to water the plants, to swim... and a lot
more'.
Suddenly, a storm came. Little Waterdrop felt like she was flying and
was thrown on the deck of a ship where frightened people were running
everywhere.
The people on the ship were excited. No one had seen a drop of water
before. Then a little girl approached Little Waterdrop.
'People really need me, because without me you and the others cannot live. For
many years, my kind was helpful with yours, we found our balance for the things.
But these days people aren't responsible for what they do. So, could you help me
prove to everyone that we need each other now and always', replied Little
Waterdrop as the girl was listening at her carefully.
Out of the blue, the girl said:
'Take a trip down Memory Lane with me to see what was going on when I was born.
It was a sunny day and everybody was waiting for me... When mother saw
me, teardrops were falling down her face ...'
The little waterdrop made her a little upset but she knew everyone needed her.
There, she began to find her friends. And then they hang on to each other and
continued to walk around the Earth.
'My dear friend! Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and the
other insects! Without you and your family we can't help the plants and eat all
the nasty aphids,' said Ladybug. 'Would you like to stay here with me on this
beautiful leaf? Maybe the Sun will see you and... when he warms you with his
rays… you will see what happens. Here is my surprise for you.'
Little Waterdrop saw a red dot on a leaf. She rolled
slowly toward her. So, that day she met Ladybug.
Becoming good friends, they greeted each other on the
leaves every morning.
'Hello, Ladybug! Did you enjoy the morning dew? I created
every drop for you to cool you off after a hot day', the
waterdrop said.
'You, what more surprises do you have for me?' cried
ladybug in excitement. Then she suddenly recognised
her old friend's granddaughter.
After sunrise, Little Waterdrop continued her journey. The sun was getting
hotter and hotter, and her powers were weakening. Suddenly another drop of
water, Raindrop appeared out of nowhere.
'Hello, dear friend! I can see you're very weak. I wish I could help you', said
Raindrop.
'I'm so glad you met me! I thought my adventure ended here... But you gave me
strength again!', replied Waterdrop.
The two drops became good friends and decided to continue their journey
together.
The two droplets looked for a puddle to protect themselves from the Sun and take
energy to carry on. But it was impossible as the Sun was even hotter than before...
So the two little droplets evaporated and went up to the air and got to a cloud.
'WHAT A SOFT AND SMOOTH PLACE! Let's fly on it!,' said Waterdrop.
So the two droplet friends flew with the cloud and they could see every single city
and town and it was awesome .
After a while they got tired of so much fuss and fell asleep. They had a strange
dream... There were thousands of colors and a lot of joy and happiness and the drops
of water wondered what it could be???
Little Waterdrop and Little Raindrop woke up to a storm forming. The clouds all
around them were full of other drops of water and the sky was painted dark blue.
Soon, there was rain to come. They were happy to get their power back.
The drops were really happy to meet each other in the sky. They flew freely,
crossing lands and seas. Suddenly, they saw a little old woman in a little garden
which needed to be watered. So they fell down on Earth to help the woman.
Small drops raced to water the field, washing
the trees, vegetables, and fruit trees, then
jumping over the flower petals, increasing
their colors in purity. The old lady was really
joyful. She would return to her home that day
carrying tasty carrots and delicious fruits and
she would make her grandchildren happy.
Little Waterdrop and her friend were happy so
they contineud their journey. When they
arrived at a swamp to have a rest, they saw all
the fish dead and the swans in need of help. So
the little drop of water asked a swan.
'What happened?'
'A frog named Bob came and he drunk all the
water. Now, he is there, resting', answered
Swan.
The little drop of water needed a plan.
After a few minutes of thinking, she decided
to call in some friends: Kangaroo, Emu and
Eel.
I am Bob! I drank
all the water!
When they were about to give up, they heard a noise. It was Duck that was there to help.
As soon as Bob saw the duck, he started smiling so the duck started to run up and down
while shaking his tail. The frog started laughing and laughing like he would never stop.
That's how all the water came out of his mouth and the swamp was again full of water.
Little Waterdrop said to the swan:
'Our job is done here now. We need to get back on our journey, see you soon.'
Swan waved with his wing and he said:
'Bye, see you soon!'
They had a plan, they had to malke
the frog named Bob open his mouth,
so they had to make him laugh. They
tried hard but he would not open his
mouth. Kanguroo said jokes, Emu
made funny faces and Eel made funny
shapes with his body. But nothing.
They asked a cloud to go to a place where they were needed. Cloud flew them to a
thirsty African village.
The people in the village were so happy when they saw the little cloud that they
started cheering enthusiastically.
'Welcome to our village! We have been waiting for you. We need some rain!',
people cried.
The flowers smiled to the sky, the children jumped and were dancing in the rain.
Little Water drop was very happy because she was useful.
She told everyone around:
'If we unite and work together, we can learn to live in harmony with our
environment, our planet, and each other.'
Nature has thus been coloured in all shades of the rainbow...
...The story of a day can be told by a drop of
water. Little Waterdrop was my friend. When
I woke up, I washed, I drank hot tea. On the
way to school it started to rain, and I didn't
have an umbrella. I was upset about every
drop of cold water. Angrily, I jumped in the
puddle with my new boots! After a while, I
got thirsty ... what good water! I look
forward to a hot bath tonight and befriend
water again...
After the hot bath, the little and funny
drop, got into her pyjamas and started to
read a nice bed time story. She fell asleep
imediately and had a nice dream about the
journey of the rainy day.
In her dream the waterdrop started to
filter into the soil, which was gradually
drying out due to the rising air
temperature. Every second some of the
water was evaporating and she was very
upset about it. Eventually, water
evaporated everywhere, and the air was
slowly rising. As she drifted away from
the land, she felt sorry for it.
But every time she saw droplets of water
like herself around her, she began to get
used to it. As she got higher, the
temperature started to drop and it
started to get cold. As she was rising,
something changed as she got colder and
colder. She reached the cold clouds, began
to condense, and began to fall again as a
raindrop on the land. Not to mention that
her best friend Raindrop was also there.
She loved it so much.
On their way to the ground, drops of water met the rainbow. The multitude of
colors and the rainbow formed a slide for raindrops that began to play and dance.
They hopped, laughed and slammed into the rainbow slide until they got tired and
quiet touching the grass, the flowers and the leaves of the trees.
Then everywhere they
touched, the colors of the
rainbow began to appear.
Everything around them
became full of colours.
Our journey
is never
over...
We will be
back! 💧

After a few minutes of thinking, she decided to call in some friends: Kangaroo, Emu and Eel. I am Bob! I drank all the water!
  • 16. When they were about to give up, they heard a noise. It was Duck that was there to help. As soon as Bob saw the duck, he started smiling so the duck started to run up and down while shaking his tail. The frog started laughing and laughing like he would never stop. That's how all the water came out of his mouth and the swamp was again full of water. Little Waterdrop said to the swan: 'Our job is done here now. We need to get back on our journey, see you soon.' Swan waved with his wing and he said: 'Bye, see you soon!' They had a plan, they had to malke the frog named Bob open his mouth, so they had to make him laugh. They tried hard but he would not open his mouth. Kanguroo said jokes, Emu made funny faces and Eel made funny shapes with his body. But nothing.
  • 17. They asked a cloud to go to a place where they were needed. Cloud flew them to a thirsty African village. The people in the village were so happy when they saw the little cloud that they started cheering enthusiastically. 'Welcome to our village! We have been waiting for you. We need some rain!', people cried. The flowers smiled to the sky, the children jumped and were dancing in the rain.
  • 18. Little Water drop was very happy because she was useful. She told everyone around: 'If we unite and work together, we can learn to live in harmony with our environment, our planet, and each other.' Nature has thus been coloured in all shades of the rainbow...
  • 19. ...The story of a day can be told by a drop of water. Little Waterdrop was my friend. When I woke up, I washed, I drank hot tea. On the way to school it started to rain, and I didn't have an umbrella. I was upset about every drop of cold water. Angrily, I jumped in the puddle with my new boots! After a while, I got thirsty ... what good water! I look forward to a hot bath tonight and befriend water again... After the hot bath, the little and funny drop, got into her pyjamas and started to read a nice bed time story. She fell asleep imediately and had a nice dream about the journey of the rainy day.
  • 20. In her dream the waterdrop started to filter into the soil, which was gradually drying out due to the rising air temperature. Every second some of the water was evaporating and she was very upset about it. Eventually, water evaporated everywhere, and the air was slowly rising. As she drifted away from the land, she felt sorry for it. But every time she saw droplets of water like herself around her, she began to get used to it. As she got higher, the temperature started to drop and it started to get cold. As she was rising, something changed as she got colder and colder. She reached the cold clouds, began to condense, and began to fall again as a raindrop on the land. Not to mention that her best friend Raindrop was also there. She loved it so much.
  • 21. On their way to the ground, drops of water met the rainbow. The multitude of colors and the rainbow formed a slide for raindrops that began to play and dance. They hopped, laughed and slammed into the rainbow slide until they got tired and quiet touching the grass, the flowers and the leaves of the trees. Then everywhere they touched, the colors of the rainbow began to appear. Everything around them became full of colours.
