Back ground
In Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research under Agricultural and Nutrition Research
Laboratories Directorate there are more than fifty (50) laboratories which are equipped with
many different equipments/instruments from a simple scissors to more complex and advanced
laboratory devices. However these laboratories contain many types of equipments, most of the
equipments are not working or if they are working they are not giving valuable results. To solve
this very serious problem Agricultural and Nutritional Research laboratories Directorate has been
collaborated with the National Metrology Institute of Ethiopian specifically with the Scientific
Equipment Maintenance service. For the purpose of maintenance installation and check the
performance laboratories three experts of NMIE were gone Assosa Agricultural Research Center
starting from 23/03/08 up 07/04/08 and maintained almost 28 equipments.
