3. MICROORGANISMOS
PATÓGENOS
Son formas de vida muy pequeñas que solo pueden ser observados a través
de un microscopio.
EN ESTE GRUPO ESTAN INCLUIDAS:
Bacterias.
Virus.
Mohos y las levaduras.
Algunos parásitos.
5. Género de bacterias.
Estas bacterias tienen un
comportamiento parecido a
los virus, ya que para vivir y
multiplicarse lo hacen dentro
de las células.
RICKETSSIA
7. MECANISMOS DE
TRASMISIÓN
El contagio se realiza por la
mordedura o picadura de estos
insectos.
No se produce el contagio persona
a persona.
8. CLASIFICACIÓ

Las Ricketssias pueden dar lugar a varias
enfermedades infecciosas:
1. Fiebres Tíficas. Piojos, Pulgas, Ácaros.

RRI-IgG = Rickettsia rickettsii IgG. Antibody titers > or = 64 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Rickettsia rickettsii or antigenically related spotted fever group
rickettsiae.
CBU-I-IgG = Coxiella burnetii (phase I) IgG. Antibody titers > or = 128 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Coxiella burnetii.
CBU-II-IgG = Coxiella burnetii (phase II) IgG. Antibody titers > or = 128 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Coxiella burnetii.
CBU-I-IgM = Coxiella burnetii (phase I) IgM. Antibody titers > or = 128 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Coxiella burnetii.
CBU-II-IgM = Coxiella burnetii (phase II) IgM. Antibody titers > or = 128 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Coxiella burnetii
RTY-IgM = Rickettsia typhi IgM. Antibody titers > or = 64 to this antigen suggest exposure to or infection with Rickettsia typhi or antigenically related typhus group rickettsiae.
The sample(s) from this patient were tested for IgG or IgM antibodies reactive with the antigens listed above by using an indirect immunofluorescence assay. Results are reported
as the reciprocal of the last dilution exhibiting distinct reactivity. Because other bacterial antigens may cross-react at lower antibody titers, antibody titers > or = to 64 have been
chosen as epidemiologically significant in our laboratory. Some patients with rickettsial infections do not develop antibody titers at or above this threshold until 7 or more days
after the onset of the illness, and early antibiotic therapy may delay or blunt the development of detectable antibodies. In this context, absence of specific antibodies in a single
sample collected early in the course of the illness does not exclude a diagnosis of rickettsial disease. A fourfold or greater change in titer between two sequentially collected
samples (preferably obtained 2-6 weeks apart) is required to serologically confirm recent infection. Extensive cross-reactivity exists among certain rickettsial and ehrlichial
antigens, and may preclude assignment of a particular species as the etiologic agent. Serologic results should be interpreted in the context of compatible signs and epidemiologic
data.
