Dominance
Metacognition: Do you think about how, what
and why you think? Do you think in pictures,
words or sounds? Can you control this? Can
you switch (code-switch) between?
To develop creativity, problem solving, and
inventiveness, a person must have the full repertoire
of communication at her fingertips.
Limiting yourself to one method of communication
also limits your ability to think. Its like using a box of
crayons with three colors instead of a box of sixty four.
You are limited and less effective.

Do you know the answers to the deep questions: (1) Why are we
here? (2) What is birth? What is death? What happens before
and/or after? (3) What is the meaning of life? (4) Why is there
suffering? (5) What is natural? What is supernatural?

Point of view
Perception is reality: How we see the world
changes the way the world is - "Reality is
merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent
one." - Albert Einstein
Do you know only your answers to the deep
questions? Do you know how others answer these
questions? Do you know how you or your culture
arrived at the answers?
Knowing an answer is not enough. We must also know
how the answer was derived and how others also
answer a question. It is how we understand truth.

To understand our

our future. To predict
our future, we must
study our past. We are
thus, writers of the
future, and controllers
of the past.

State of Flux
Progress: This is the movement forward and implies
improvement or betterment. But movement has a
catch – it must have a destination. Though we live in
flux, why? Where are we going?
Seligman (positive psychology and authentic
happiness) argues that optimism can be learned.
However, others like Leahy argue that too much
optimism seems to cloud our ability to weigh costs,
risks and realistic versions of our resources.
Where are we today? Are we idealistic? Are we
foolishly romantic? Or are we too pessimistic?

Social change is a
rejection of the
paradigm – the
concepts and patterns
accepted by authority
(and its followers). This
is a paradigm shift, into
something new but
often undefined.
