- 2. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE FOR INSTAGRAM? The purpose of Instagram from the company’s point of view is to make users spend as long as possible on the app. That’s it. Anything they can do to make users spend more time on the app, they can do and they will continue to do. You can feel anything you want towards Instagram but if you spend your time on it, you’re Instagram’s target user. The more time, the better. Instagram will continue to evolve to incorporate more features, options and functionality. All these changes are there to serve its one primary aim – to get the user hooked on it. Its growth is unstoppable and has been ever since Facebook acquired it in 2012. If you have any doubt that Facebook knows how to get you addicted to social media, then you need to educate yourself. Being an addictive app is hard-baked into Instagram's DNA. It's near impossible to use this app to post content and engage with others without getting flooded with dopamine, which we begin to crave. The purpose of Instagram is to grab your attention and keep you hooked. Then it can market to you by showing you ads that other accounts have paid for.
- 3. HOW TO TURN YOUR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT PRIVATE? For your standard Instagram posts, there’s nothing you can do to see who all is looking at your pictures unless they interact with you. Even in the case of blocked accounts, however, the user can merely log out and view your profile on mobile, or make a new account, to see your content.
