HISTORY
St. Mary’s University was
founded in
1852by the Society of Mary
(Marianists). It is the
oldest Catholic university
in Texas and the
Southwest.
LOCATION
The campus is located
northwest of downtown
San Antonio, Texas, the
seventh largest city in the
nation.
ADMISSION
Applicants who are not
U.S. citizens or permanent
residents must show a level
of scholastic achievement
that would indicate ability
to succeed in an academic
program at St. Mary’s.
Applicants should submit
all of the following
documents:
• Application for
admission
• Official evaluated
transcript of secondary
school and/or
university transcript
• National examination
scores, if applicable
• Official TOEFL/IELTS
scores
• A letter of
recommendation by a
school official
• A personal essay
St. Mary’s scholarship
program is designed to
recognize outstanding
achievement. Partial
scholarships range from
$5,000 – $18,000 USD
per year. Students are
considered based on their

RESIDENCE HALLS
Twelve residence halls are
primarily suite-styled and
co-ed by floor or wing. All
halls offer free wi-fi and
cable.

Students are involved in

organizations, including
fraternities and sororities,
academic societies, cultural
clubs, and intramural
sports.
ENROLLMENT
There are around 2,440
undergraduates, plus 1,670
students in the Graduate
School and School of Law.

size is 22. Ninety-three
percent of our faculty
holds a Ph.D. or equivalent
terminal degree. There
are no teaching assistants,
ensuring you learn directly
