2. Education I believe the benefits of a degree in the liberal arts is that not only have I gained knowledge and skills that are transferable to many areas but most importantly I have learned how to learn. I feel confident that I can accomplish anything I am faced with because of this.
3. Experience : Peer Career Advisor I have three years in advising and counseling university students and alumni through the DePaul University Career Center. I have gained great skills such as customer service, administration, marketing, collaboration, project development, writing and social media, researching, presenting and facilitating.
4. Experience: DePaul Interfaith My experience with DePaul Interfaith is important to me because I have taken part in the conceptualization and birth of a new organization. I have learned collaboration, teaching, and program development skills through this organization, as well as discovered my passion for working with diversity.
5. Experience: Research Assistant My being a research assistant has allowed me to exercise one of my passions, which is research. Learning advanced research methods that can be applied to other fields has enhanced my skill set. Building great relationships with faculty members has been invaluable to me and I’m proud to be contributing to a field that is so important to me.
6. Career Goals My long-term career goals are within counseling psychology. My experience has not only paved the way for me to be successful in pursuing my long-term goals but they have also shown me what my talents and passions are. I feel honored to know who I am as a professional.
