2. Arthur lived in Watertown, New York as a
child. He moved there with his family at a
young age.

3. He was known as a bully in school, using violence to
settle his disputes. He dropped out of high school at
the age of 14.

4. Arthur served one tour of duty in Vietnam
and came back with many gruesome
tales.

5. His second wife, Linda, said that Arthur would
become sexually aroused by compulsively starting
fires.

6. On May 7th, 1972, Arthur murdered 10-year old Jack
Owen Blake in the woods of Watertown, New York.

7. Shawcross was arrested in October of 1972 after
confessing to murdering two children. He was
sentenced to 25 years in prison.
