This portfolio contains examples of interior design projects completed by AdelaideSeto. The first project was a SketchUp house designed in high school that made her realize she wanted to pursue interior design. Another project involved designing a bookstore mock-up with a partner for a design competition. A tiny home design incorporated furniture pieces like a shelf and golf bag rack. Finally, retro-inspired patterns were created in Illustrator and applied to objects like couches and curtains in Photoshop.

2. SketchUp House

3. This project is my most sentimental and
meaningful of the projects I included in this
portfolio. I did this back in my senior year
of highschool for my architecture class. This
project in particular is what made me realize
that this is definitely what I see myself doing
for a living. I found my passion for interior
design through making this house and I am
so grateful for that.

4. This assignment was very difficult and at the time
it was very out of my comfort zone. The most
difficult part was figuring out what dimensions to
make each room and how to fit all of the required
rooms within the maximum house size. I did this
process on paper and used trial and error to finally
find dimensions that allowed me to have all of the
required rooms and also allowed me to have
accurate wall thicknesses etc.
I had a lot of fun figuring out how to use Sketch-
Up during this process and also figuring out how
to do more techincal things like dimensioning and
mapping out the spaces. I watched videos to learn
how to use SketchUp and also collaborated with
my teacher as well.

5. Bookstore Mock-Up

6. At the International Interior Design
Association Oregon State Chapter
meetings we did a Mock-Up Challenge. My
partner and I were assigned to make a
bookstore and we make a 3D model as well as
chose materials we wanted to
incorporate in the design. I made floating
shelves and a checkout desk to indicate what
the model was. I also made a moodboard to
show our concept.

7. Tiny-Home

8. This is an assignment I did for Drawing and
Sketching. We were given dimensions that our
tiny house had to be, we were also required to
make multiple pieces of furniture to include
within the design. I envisioned my house to be on
a golf course so I incorporated a golf theme within
the decorations and furniture. I included a
putting green inspired carpet. I also designed a
shelf that has storage as well as a rack for a golf
bag. The bottom image is the an overlay of the top
left image where I added color and more details.

I honestly enjoyed every step of this whole
project. I will admit that at first I did not
enjoy drawing every little thing in
perspective, but after a while it became a
bit easier. I really enjoyed drawing the base
sketches. The overlays were fun as well but
I really liked getting out my ruler and
really making the initial design come to
life.
We started the whole project with the perspective
exterior sketeches. We then did overlays to add details
and some dimension with the grayscale markers. The
next part of the process was creating the peices of
furniture that we then incorporated into the inside of
the house. Lastly we did an interior perspective sketch
and then a colored overlay.

10. Retro Patterns

11. For Design 121 our final project was to
design four of our own patterns and
to edit the patterns we made onto
objects. I decided to go with a retro
insipired group of patterns. We made
the patterns on Adobe Illastrator and
edited the photos on Adobe
Photoshop.

12. Because I am Pre-Interior design and am more
instered in home design rather than apparel, I
decided to edit my patterns onto items more in
that subject. I decided to make my patterns into a
couch, bed spread, curtain, and wallpaper. I edited
my images to have shadows and to go behind extra
objects.
Retro Patterns My first pattern I made was the checkered print
design. I really enjoyed taking a classic design
and making it my own by choosing fun colors
and adding a small flower detail. I then made the
geometric design which I feel really fits the retro
theme. The floral print was the hardest to make
as I had drew the flowers on illustrator. The final
pattern was my personal favorite. I enjoyed
making the doodles of rainbows and flowers on
illustrator and playing around with colors.

13. Bleach Dye

14. Something I like to do for fun is upcycling
clothing. I do this by painting designs on to
pieces using bleach. This is an example of an
old hoodie that I revamped to have a
butterfly design on the back. I do this by
drawing out my ideas in chalk onto the piece
and then once I am happy with my design I go
in with bleach. I use a mixture of bleach and
water and I use a thin paintbrush in order to
get small details. This hobby has allowed me to
express myself while also being sustainable!
